Duff: Moscow attack was a US “false flag” operation

| April 3, 2010

I was just minding my own business today and reading a blog post about some crackpot theory that the CIA and the Mossad planned and executed the attack on Moscow’s subway system this last week, when I discovered that the author was using Gordon Duff as an unimpeachable source. The article the author was quoting from Duff is entitled “Terrorism; Always Suspect a False Flag First

So what evidence does Duff use to support his theory that the terrorist attack in Moscow was a false flag operation by the CIA?

* 67 percent of Republicans (and 40 percent of Americans overall) believe that Obama is a socialist
* 45 percent of Republicans (25 percent overall) agree with the Birthers in their belief that Obama was “not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president”
* 38 percent of Republicans (20 percent overall) say that Obama is “doing many of the things that Hitler did”
* 57 percent of Republicans believe President Obama is a Muslim
* 24 percent of Republicans believe President Obama may be the AntiChrist

And it gets worse:

* 57% of Republicans either believe or are not sure that health care reform is a diabolical government plot to create death panels
* 91% of conservative Republicans call Obama a socialist, Marxist, communist, or fascist
* 72% of Republicans either think or haven’t made up their minds about whether Obama was born in the USA. 42% are solid birthers
* 80% of Republicans support extending the Patriot Act
* 67% of Republicans oppose the choice of a public health insurance option (only 40% of all Americans oppose)
* 70% of Republicans oppose a woman’s right to chose having an abortion
* 60% of Republicans oppose making it easier for workers to organize
* 60% of Republicans are creationists
* Only 6% of scientists are Republican
* 68% of Republicans are not at all concerned about Climate Change
* Only 23% of Republicans believe in natural evolution
* Only 38% of Republicans support funding embryonic stem cell research

I shit you not. Somehow Republicans are still running the CIA in Duff’s World, despite the fact that Democrats control two branches of the US government (and half of the third branch) and Leon (freakin’) Panetta (for Pete’s sake) runs the CIA. The reason Republicans are blowing up Moscow commuters; they don’t support embrionic stem cell research? Really?

And, oh, if you go to his article, you’ll notice that his links to the above statistics go to places like the Daily Kos – good non-partisan sources.

Shades of the faked moon-landings, in an earlier article, Duff claims that the Marjah operation in Afghanistan last month never happened. His reasoning?

Can anyone prove it? Nobody had ever heard of Marjah before or even knew a city was there. Nobody knew it was a Taliban stronghold either.

So because Duff, who was a Lance Corporal S-3 clerk forty years ago, never heard of the city, it never existed.

The other day, some folks decided they wanted to defend Gordon Duff’s idiot theories and unsourced proclamations. I will consistently call BS on anything Duff writes.

I just wonder what sort of drugs or trauma caused Duff to turn out like this? Conspiracy nuts usually have multiple issues in their lives, and lots of baggage too.

Jesus, all you need now is some chicken wire and plaster and he can show us how the Twin Towers were blown up by the VRWC and the Trilateral Commission and not a bunch of asshole jihadists in hijacked airplanes.

So does my Mom’s hometown not exist? I can be fairly certain that Duff (and most human beings on Earth) has never heard of the tiny rural town she comes from. Which by logical extention would mean she does not exist, I don’t exist, and I never wrote this post.

That is no more illogical than Duff’s “reasoning” on Marjah.

Gordon Duff= “This is your brain on lead paint chips”

Any Questions?

As a Republican, at least nominally, I decided to take his little test.

– I believe Obama is a socialist.
– I think he was born in Hawaii but that his birth certificate either says both his parents were Muslim or his father’s race is listed as “Arab” – thus he does not want to disclose it.
– I think he is doing many of the things despots do – Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Hussein, etc.
– I do not think Obama is a Muslim or the Antichrist.
– I do not think it was all about death panels. It was about more power in the centralized government.
– On the next two, see above.
– I completely support the extension of the Patriot Act.
– I do not support the Public Option (see Canada and the UK for reasons)
– I am pro-choice
– I do not want “card check” – Unions only help union bosses. To the rank and file, they only equal job losses and unprofitable businesses.
– I am not a creationist or a scientist
– I think we should pollute less because clean air is a good thing, but I do not think the science on man-made global warming supports destroying our economy.
– I do believe in evolution and limited funding of stem cell research.

Do I pass the test? Am I a Republican or just a normally skeptical person who hates bureaucrats and unions?

Joe

Um, I think it’s a Harris poll, not a Daily Kos poll. Morbidly fascinating to get this window into a party self-destructing. One fascinating, and unsurprising stat: “Only 6% of scientists are Republican”. That doesn’t surprise me since scientists are accustomed to reviewing and weighing actual evidence… Kind of ties in with, “60% of Republicans are creationists”.

UpNorth

Um, Joey? “Scientists”are the ones who cooked the books on so-called global warming/climate change/whatever the words du jour are this week. And, yes, it is interesting to watch a “party self-destructing”, but I think you may have the party labels confused, as usual.
Now, just for you, I’ll pull a statistic out of the air, 80% of democrats think that government can do anything better than the private sector. For you, Joey, hints, think Social Security, Medicare, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Energy, Dept. of Agriculture. Get the drift, there, Joey?

Anyone who doesn’t view Duff’s stuff (Duff’s stuff? Worthy of a copyright?) with a rational skepticism is a fool.

Susan said it best… Duff’s test can be responded to, and still be interesting. This is NOT an ‘in for a penny, in for a pound’ situation.

justplainjason

100% of Just Plain Jason’s (me) believe that this guy is full of shit.

Hey Joey, why don’t you post some evidence for you claim? See this guy is a dipshit and you are falling right in with him.

The FSB is a better intel agency than our politically castrated joke of a CIA. I just don’t see us pulling off such a caper against the Russians, Duffster.

Fred

Junior AG,

Right on. I highly doubt our CIA could pull off such a stunt against one of the world’s top intelligence agencies. For that matter, I have seen not a shred of evidence to back up the Mossad conspiracy theories.

Granted, I do think the Saudis were involved in this attack. Well certainly Saudis were involved in some way.

B Woodman

Does Duff come from Homer Simpson’s town of Springville. And can I buy a case of Duff? Pretty heady stuff, that Duff.

OR – Where can I buy an ounce of whatever Duff was smoking?

Mr Duff.

You have a habit of deleting anything that makes you appear less than perfect.Maybe just this once you can find it in your makeup to faced and answer some tough questions.

Perhaps you can explain how one man who states that he is a 100% disabled vet with PTSD becomes such a prolific writer of the,”Jewish Master plot for World Domination”?

You openly accuse Fox news of their Israeli biased reporting but you have taken the opposite stance and you do so without actually stating facts. In addition how does a person with a mental illness, supposedly taking the appropriate medications, become so ingrained ass to be an insider and operative with governments, agencies and large businesses?Agencies et al supposedly perform background checks to insure the stability of their contacts.

I agree that Fox news has a strong bias but so does any other media source be it a magazine, newspaper, news casting or news groups.A successful reporter covers as many news sources as possible to let the world know the basis of their philosophy.

I read one of your past bylines where you called all Viet Nam vets almost less than human and on others you glorify us.I would think that a journalist, especially the senior editor, would adopt a consistent point of view and stick to it unless evidence assists in making a change.
