Police: Man claims self-defense in deadly Nashville shooting

By: Laken Bowles
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a man has claimed self-defense in a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Nashville.

The shooting happened Thursday night at the Dellway Villa Apartments, located just off Dickerson Pike.

According to police, 20-year-old Phillip Sullivan said he had just left an apartment when 18-year-old Qamaurio Williams allegedly approached him in the breezeway, grabbed him and demanded money at gunpoint.

Sullivan said he pulled his gun and shot Williams multiple times. Williams was taken to Skyline Medical Center where he died. Neither man lived at the apartment complex.

Police said Sullivan left the area and later called the emergency communications to report the shooting. His gun was collected. They said a second gun was not recovered at the scene.

by ANDREA CARDEN
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (WOAI) – A San Antonio homeowner defended his home last night when a burglar forced the door open and broke inside the home.

Police responded to reports of a shooting in progress early Saturday morning at around 1:15 a.m. at the 300 block of Kate Schenck Avenue on the Southeast side of San Antonio.

When officers arrived they found the homeowner holding down the would-be burglar. Police said the occupants of the house were sound asleep when they heard someone breaking into their front door. The homeowner said he grabbed his gun and confronted the person breaking into his home. The gun went off during their scuffle, but nobody was shot.

The PDRofMD, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, will be first in line to ban the civilian, semi-auto version of the NGSW. Sig should sue for restraint of trade.

Looks like 6.8mm is in the lead over 6.5mm for the eventual M-4/M-16 replacement.

The current rifle has been in use for over 50 years, and in practical terms is little changed in that time other than accessories and some very minor tweaks to ammo.

This new weapon seems like further and greater tweaking.

The M-2 machinegun has been in production for a century as of next year. Probably good for another 50 years.

Hopefully we decommission our stupid and pointless gun control laws on manufacture, that have hideously retarded innovation while utterly failing to deter crooks.

Ironically, Qamaurio’s last post on Facebook was July 2019, “Qamaurio Williams was live.”

At least two dirtbags off the streets and unable to prey on good citizens, one for all time and another as new social entertainment for Bubba and the Boys. Wonder how the SA perp is gonna like when they pry open his door and bust in. We need Claw to show up and run the wheel on Qamaurio. Claw has been conspicuous in his absence of late. Have we done a welfare check on him lately? Is he on leave or gone UA on us? Did he try to run that trio from the other day and break the wheel? One of you Comm Rats needs to get the Supply Daddy back on the ‘net.

You know, I think I needs that NGSW for squirrels and such. 6.8 is a little heavier of a round, but the tree rat bastards are getting fat off of eating my pecans and black walnuts.

Speaking of being conspicuous by being absent, where daHell is Ms Thang, the Sunday Gunz Gurl? It is Sunday, Right? It’s all well and good that you have used your spare time to add all of the new articles, but, in addition to your other duties, we MUST have the old favorites. Were you and Mick making rather merry on evening past celebrating the 34th anniversary of the release of your all time favorite motion picture? Watching that just released Blu-Ray Director’s cut with 69 seconds of never before seen footage? Have you lost that loving feeling for us? Get on the ball before we put a volley across your bow and send you to the beach. I’d hate for your goose to be cooked. You know how these guys are.

Another thing that we love about you. When you make up for the errors of your ways, you go all out.

I dig that cool looking Chick, but she needs to go out and buy new dungaree shorts or cut off those Irish pennants hanging down from the lower hemline.

jarhead

I volunteer to chew the hanging threads off those Daisy Dukes. While doing so, I’ll go ahead and sniff for explosives, drugs, weed, counterfeit money, open bottles of liquor, or anything else with an odor (good or bad). I don’t need no stinkin’ dogs to help me either.

And why is her dust cover open?

And why does her magazine have that bend at the top?

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman

It looks to be a 60 round mag, as opposed to a straight wall 30 rounder.
(BTW, anyone read any revues on those 60 round mags?)

CCO

Thanks.

Is this “new” 6.8 Hybrid ammo the same specs as the 6.8 SPC?
I hope so, with more production, it would bring down the prices.

ArmyATC

I haven’t seen any ballistic specs published, but the ammunition is supposed to be either caseless or polymer case.

David

First link shows relatively conventional cased ammo with a hybrid steel/brass case. Seems to me one of the gun rags did an article on it a while back?

CCO

According to the second Firearms Blog article (from August), it’s 6.8 but not 6.8 SPC

Someone get The Donovan on the line, let him talk about how when the Army was selecting a semi-automatic rifle Garand and others showed up with rifles in .270. My caculator says that’s real close to 6.8 mm; so the more things change, the more they stay the same.

CCO

Someone please tell me the grenade won’t hit the bipod if the launcher is fired with the bipod down cause y’all know some knucklehead is going to fire that grenade launcher from the probe even if his sergeant told him not to.

CCO

(chagrin)

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman

Yeah. that bipod does appear to be in the way of that grenade launcher. Or is the grenade launcher in the way of the bipod?
