Riley TOW

Welcome Riley, newest member to both The Other Whitey family and by extension our own TAH, too. Less than an hour old here. TOW reports she’s surprisingly quiet for a newborn and lulling them into a false sense of security, but otherwise is active and hungry. Mommy is doing great postpartum, and both should be out of the hospital in a couple days.

In 16 years she’ll be driving his car.
*grin*

Congrats, and thanks for the much needed good news.

  3. Commissioner Wretched says:

    Congratulations!!

  4. Combat Historian says:

Get her started on 1/24th scale Americana hot rod dioramas. 1/24th scale is easier to handle and build for the younger kids… 🙂

  5. Haywire Angel says:

Congratulations on the addition to the family!!

  6. HMCS(FMF) ret says:

    Congrats, TOW!

  7. Ex-PH2 says:

    Congrats, TOW Family.

The minute she figures out how her feet work, she’ll be climbing cupboard shelves and taking solo walks without telling you. She may also find some solace in books meant for kids older than she is. And when she’s 6YO, she’ll want to start cooking on the stove.

    Too cute for words.

  8. AW1Ed says:

She’ll join the Navy, of course.

  9. OWB says:

Awwwwwww. Such good news. Congrats all around.

Of course, by the time this one hits 16,y’all may have it all figured out!

Congrats Brother TOW and to the Mrs. TOW also. Great news that both of these ladies are doing well. And now, I know she’s hot, but do give Mrs Tow a break. Another Daddy’s Darlin’ Dumplin” Daughter. Bought another gun yet?

  17. Blaster says:

Awesome! Congratulations! You never realize how much you can love until you hold your baby.

  18. The Other Whitey says:

Thanks very much to everybody! Our son and other two daughters can’t come in due to Chinese Bat Flu rules, but are anxious to meet their new baby sister when we get home. We’ve been doing video calls to the family all afternoon. My smartass sister-in-law immediately declared that she has “chinky eyes.” I vowed violent retribution in return. I just changed her second diaper. I might even get some sleep for the first time in 80 hours!

She’s a beautiful baby girl, a gift from God.

  19. Skyjumper says:

    Congratulations TOW & family!

  20. The Other Whitey says:

    Having thus far built:
    – A prewar “yellow wings” PBY for my oldest girl
    – A sharkface P-40E for my boy
    – A nearly-complete F-100D with a modified (pink) version of the old Indiana ANG tail flash

I’m now thinking of what to build for my newest girl. I’m kinda leaning towards a B-26 Marauder in post-‘44 aluminum finish. I’d like to do a B-45 Tornado, but they don’t make that one in 1/48. I definitely favor aluminum finish for the girls’ planes because it goes well with bright trim/tail colors.

The B-25 “Panchito” graces our skys on occasion as a Navy Test Pilot School training aid. A couple of my pals have even logged crew time in her, lucky SOBs.

The sound of the twin recips is unmistakable

    • OWB says:

Cast my vote for the B-26. Always been a favorite of mine. As for finish – entirely your choice. Whatever goes best with the fleet, perhaps.

(And think about doing some period firefighting/crash equipment to go with.)

      • The Other Whitey says:

Unfortunately, that requires scratchbuilding skill I just don’t have. The closest I’ve come to that are a pair of airtanker conversions I did, one an A-26 and the other a TBM. I’ll have to put the TBM up on Deviant Art. It came out fairly nice.

  21. MSG Eric says:

    Congratulations TOW. Many Happy Returns!

  22. 26Limabeans says:

Just got blessed with a grandniece.
    I know the feeling.
    You can’t stop smiling….

  23. Sapper3307 says:

    Nice little stimulus check.

  24. David says:

“A son is your son till he takes a wife, but a daughter’s your daughter for all of her life.”

    Truer words… congrats.

Remember, you spend the first two years teaching them to walk and talk, and the following twenty telling them to sit down and shut up!

  25. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Congrats TOW, it is most refreshing to get some happy news these days as much of what we hear is far less comforting…

This made the missus smile a great deal.

  26. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

    Congrats, TOW!!

  27. Berliner says:

    Congratulations, TOW.
May God bless, guide, and keep you as you raise those kiddos, and may they all bring you joy, thankfulness, and pride when they themselves have children.
