By: ROSEMARY SOBOL
An off-duty Chicago firefighter who was shot several times while chatting with friends and cutting the lawn on the Far South Side Thursday night fired back at the assailant in self-defense, officials said.

The firefighter, 54, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was stabilized and where his family was gathered at his bedside Thursday night, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

“He had multiple gunshot wounds to his lower extremities,” Langford said.

About 6:45 p.m. an assailant ran past the fireman and several of his friends who about talking near an alley or gangway and fired thirteen times at them near the 9900 block of South Yale Avenue in the Fernwood neighborhood, Langford and police said.

After bullets ripped through the fireman’s ankle, buttocks and right leg, he returned fire in self-defense, but didn’t hit anyone, police said. He was not the intended target.

Patrol officers from the 22nd District who rushed to the scene spotted a suspect and gave chase on foot, eventually taking a 25-year-old man into custody.

Can’t fault the Shitcago firefighter for missing his target. Damn! Way past time to wall up Shitcago like the movie “Escape from New York”.

Need to find out who that young perp is, then have the “firemen” pay a visit to his house. I’m talking about “Fahrenheit 451” firemen.

Outstanding score to help get us over the “Hump.” Good on the fireman for fighting back. He may not of hit the perp with his shots, but I bet it caused a deposit to be dropped in the perps britches.

Interesting article on the Ghost Gunz. Now if we only had some sensible gun control laws we could prevent these gunz from getting into the wrong hands. /s/

Also an interesting article from the Archives. That there instructor, Robyn Sandoval. I’d like for her to teach me “some things.”

The author of that ghost gun article evidently has a real hard-on for ‘ghost’ guns. I see at the bottom of the article he says he is a vet, and that he did “tours” at two other news groups before who he is working for now. One trick pony, and I’d sure like to know what sort of ‘vet’ he is.

I noticed that the guy building the rifle with an empty 80% lower. Dramatic I must say.

And the “unserialized” pistol shown in another appears to have a serial number. More dramatics that the unknowing will surely gasp about and fall for.

Is a ghost gun a homemade gun from parts available on the internet?? I thought I caught something on the TV the other day.

ArmyATC

Pretty much. “Ghost guns” are unserialized guns, usually made from 80% receivers that are finished at home. Perfectly legal by federal law. They’ve only been used in crimes maybe twice. But the left can’t control or track them, so it scares the hell out of them.

An article from The Trace on “ghost guns?” I didn’t have to read it to know it would be biased in favor of gun control. After all, the Trace is funded by Bloomberg.

I got a few of those “ghost guns.” I have a few more on the drawing table waiting for parts. Ain’t none of the gawdamn government’s business what I own.

ArmyATC

You’ve seen them too?

Airwolf? Cool!

The idea that a “ghost gun” is somehow more evil is ludicrous to the nth.
I would ask mine but they’re sealed in a concrete tomb because I caught them around my bed at 0300 with sights glowing red like hellfire, a pentagram carved into the floor, candles lit all over the room and chanting an incantation from the Necronomicon trying to plunge an obsidian knife into my chest thereby opening the Gate to Satan to the terrestrial plane to rule for a thousand year of darkness.
Other than that, the G23 refused to feed 180 grain hydroshoks even after the eye of newt treatment.
