For All You Moms Out There
For Mother’s Day, this article from The Old Famer’s Almanac has the entire history of the holiday, why it was started and when.

You will find things like bringing together Union and Confederate families to get past the excesses of the Civil War, to the commercialization of the day as a means to cash in on everything, and trying to get the day turned into a national holiday.
We all know that some women who give birth to children are not only not interested in being Moms, but do a bad job of it, too. They have no “motherly instincts” at all. But they are the exception to the rule. Some women simply have no instinct for it and the kids suffer.
The others – well, they are the Moms that set the Mom pattern. You can be a mother and have a job, and still do all that stuff that your kids expect.
Have a Happy Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Mama Bears and Lionesses of TAH. May your children be worthy of the Love and Proper Upbringing that you gave to them.
Happy Heavenly Mother’s Day to all the ones who did show the Love and Proper Upbringing to those of us who still Honor and Respect what it meant. To those with their Awarded Wings that we look forward to seeing again and being “Welcomed Home” by! Thirty nine years and I still miss her like it was yesterday.
Thanks Ex… Got a mite dusty in here. I’ve looked forward to and dreaded this post all day. I truly feel sorry for those that did not have a Mama that loved them unconditionally. It is better to have had and lost than to have never had at all.
Remember the Moms in your life today. If you can no longer directly honor your own, there’s the mothers of your children, your nieces and nephews, and friends out there. Today is their day, because everyone has a Mother.
Even Dave.

Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers out there!
Thanks for the link to the interesting history of Mothers Day, Ex. Well worth the read.
Am honoring and remembering my Mom by doing a bit of yardwork. She would definitely approve. In her own way, she was a pioneer. Her own mother took in laundry so that she could buy clothes and books for my Mom to wear to finish high school, an endeavor my grandfather saw as too frivolous to fund.
Happy Mother’s Day!
My wife’s mucus plug discharge this morning, her contractions are getting stronger, and she’s expecting her water to break any minute now.
Check email.
Heh. When you can, of course.

Okay, keep us posted and tell the good lady I said “Happy Mother’s Day!”
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.
