Patricio G. Balona
Volusia County deputies said the daughter was repeatedly beating the mother, who warned her to stop, before shooting her.A 76-year-old mother shot her daughter in self-defense at her home near DeLand on Thursday afternoon after warning the younger woman to stop beating her, Volusia County deputies said.
The mother will not be charged with shooting her daughter, Julie Edwards, 54, sheriff’s officials said.
Julie Edwards is known to deputies. In February she threatened a black deputy who arrested her for drunk driving by saying she would have the Ku Klux Klan burn crosses on the deputy’s property, according to News-Journal reports.

State hospital escapee shot by Wichita County homeowner
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Wichita County Sheriff said a grand jury will determine whether a man was justified in shooting another man who escaped from the North Texas State Hospital Wednesday night.
It happened at 3225 West Rathgaber Road between 9–9:30 p.m.
Sheriff David Duke said Matthew Reyes, 25, noticed a janitor lay keys down on a table and then found the key that let him out of the facility.
Soon after that, Duke said a woman at the home on Rathgeber Road noticed Reyes swimming in her pool in only his underwear.
Duke said the woman called 9-1-1, and that’s when Reyes noticed her looking at him out the back window and tried to get into the house.
Duke said by that time, the woman’s husband arrived home and grabbed a shotgun.

‘Ey are good!
“the daughter was repeatedly beating the mother, who warned her to stop, before shooting her”
So I guess a Mothers Day card will be exchanged
with a Get Well card from mom?
One has to wonder what type of deep seated hatred a person has to have to attack their Mother on a regular basis. And I would doubt there are enough Klu Kluckers left in the state to set fire to a cross, much less place one in a yard. I hate Klu Kluckers as much as I hate Illinois Nazis.
“…motive for the shooting under investigation.” Dude broke into their house. End of investigation.
“…was justified in shooting…” ?!?DaHell?!? Crazy mofo swimming in my pool wearing his skivvies and then trying to break in MY house where MY woman was. “I was in fear for the life of myself and my family your Honor.”
God made man…Colt made them equal.
I remember an LEO Friend of mine once telling me “Fuck the Klan, they have so many FBI snitches in their ranks that they’re impotent anymore.”

I can see two things coming from the first story:
Elder abuse will no longer be a problem in that household.
Daughter shouldn’t expect anything from the reading of the will when mama dies.
Deuteronomy 21:18–21 comes to mind.
Husband arrived home and grabbed a shotgun, end of story.
