Iraqi Parliament Resolution Calls for End of Foreign Troop Presence

| January 5, 2020

It’s not a good idea to tempt the United States when someone with balls of steel occupies the White House. (r/The_Donald)

The Iraqi parliament passed a resolution calling for all foreign troop presence in Iraq to come to an end. This was done in the aftermath of the airstrike that killed Qassem Soleimani and a militia commander. This move is symbolic, as it is not a binding law.

This isn’t just a move to get Western and other militaries out of Iraq, but it is a part of a bigger objective. They also do not want Iranian interference. Even though the attack drew condemnation from both Iraqis and Iranians, there were people in both countries that celebrated the strike. Qassem Soleimani’s death also united Iraqi groups that had been squabbling against each other.

From Reuters:

Despite the internal and external difficulties that we might face, it remains best for Iraq on principle and practically,” Abdul Mahdi said.

The special session was called after a U.S. drone strike on Friday on a convoy at Baghdad airport that killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Since the killings, rival Shi’ite political leaders have called for U.S. troops to be expelled from Iraq in an unusual show of unity among factions that have squabbled for months.

There is no need for the presence of American forces after defeating Daesh (Islamic State),” said Ammar al-Shibli, a Shi’ite lawmaker and member of the parliamentary legal committee, before the parliamentary meeting.

We have our own armed forces which are capable of protecting the country,” he told Reuters.

Well, if they have enough confidence in their military, and in their government, to manage their own nation, security, and their own affairs, that would be a positive development.

For once I agree with Iraq. Could not but help notice the opulence of their Parliament decor. Thought to myself, “Self, these sonovabitches would not be sitting her if it were not for the lives of American warriors and now this shit”. Leave and blow up every frikin piece of equipment and burn everything else.

“We have our own armed forces which are capable of protecting the country,” he told Reuters.”

So, those of you who were in Iraq, do you agree?

I’m skeptical as hell, but i wasn’t there.

I have no problem at all with us pulling everything and everybody that we have in that God Forsaken part of the world out. I also have no problem with us nuking them from space if they keep up their sh^t. We were total fools to even think that we could keep those people from killing one another or anyone that tried to help them. Been doing it for thousands of years and I repeat, the last 2 of them standing will be attempting to kill one another with a rock. It’s in their genes, it’s the way they are wired.

Get us the f^ck out of there and get them the f^ck out of the US. Tho the nationality of the 9/11 attackers were predominately Saudi, not Iraqi or Iranian, the mooslem religion hates the Infidel and it is their expressed religious belief to take over and/or destroy anyone who doesn’t convert/agree with them. How hard is that to understand? When the useful idiots in our Country and Government are lined up against the wall, crucified, or burned alive, maybe then they will understand what we have being trying to say all of this time. Bless their hearts, by then it will be too late. Forstchen’s Day of Wrath…coming to a neighborhood near you…soon.

Roh-Dog

I haven’t read Day of Wrath, was/am trying to get through the last One Second/Year/? series.
I take it you recommend?

5th/77th FA

Highly recommend ‘Dog. A very plausible undertaking that, to me, is not a matter of if, but when. Reading that one is another reason why I carry, every where and all of the time. I do not concern myself so much with your run of the mill everyday criminal dirtbags that much because I generally avoid the known sketchy areas in my AO. I just hope he didn’t give them any ideas/encouragement to act on it. Hope I’m wrong, but I had people tell me when I predicted the whole airplanes into buildings thing that I was a crazy doomsdayer. Had a lot of folks call me on 9/12 and apologize for doubting me.

Roh-Dog

Mr Forstchen has a couple youtube speeches worth a listen, his work with Dr Pry and Speaker Gingrich re the EMP threat has been exemplary.
Unfortunately the gov ain’t listening, per usual.

Thunderstixx

Please understand that I am in no way trying to denigrate anything you say, think or do by mentioning Mr Rick Rescorla on a thread that shows your thoughts and predictions on the 9-11 attack. I am merely saying that he also predicted them.
You’re in good company on the prediction, Rick Rescorla had made that same prediction right after the WTC Attack in 1993 that almost brought the WTC down. Had it not been for people like Rick that stayed in the tower to help rescue people in that attack many more would have died.
As it stands, only he and a couple others that returned to the tower on 9-11 are the only ones that perished from the trading firm Morgan Stanley, Dean Witter.
Rick had worked for years practicing evacuation methods and routes outside of the building if one way would have been blocked.
Rick fought in the Ia Drang Valley but was given no credit in the movie, “We Were Soldiers”, unfortunately as he was one of the bravest, most unflappable leaders that saved so many lives in that combat. The real book, “We Were Soldiers Once, and Young” tells the real battle that was Ia Drang.
Read it, it’s great.
I’ve read almost everything I can find on Rick Rescorla and even met and corresponded with his wife Susan through the channels of Emails at his website.
Again, I only bring this up to state that you, Sir, KOB, are in extremely good company with your prediction.
Forgive me if any offense was taken, I am just a student of history and love reading about it !!!
http://rickrescorla.com/

5th/77th FA

None taken at all Brother and I too, had a hero in Rick Rescorla. Have read and re-read Joe Galloway’s book several times and think that the movie was one of the very few truly historically accurate portrayals of what the Viet of the Nam was in the beginning. I remember as a teenager reading Joe’s dispatches to the Columbus Ledger on that fight and seeing some of the FIRST film clips on Ch 9 ABC Columbus on a late night grainy black and white set. You are most correct that Rick Rescorla was a heroes hero, tho to meet him you would not know of that. One of the reasons I volunteered for the Artillery was what the gunners did from LZ Falcon in support of LZ X-Ray. On your next “visit” with his survivors do make mention to them of the great number of us out here that have the utmost respect for that Soldier.

I often wonder if there is some smart young afghani or Iraqi who in 20 years will ask his father. ” Dad, we had the richest, strongest, most advanced nation in history willing to help us advance into the modern world. Why did we piss that opportunity away?

Ret_25X

I can assure you that no such question will be asked.

Ever

by anyone in Iraq

They are that far gone.

SFC D

Nope. Islamonazism will not allow that.

Blaster

Or by anyone in Afghanistan

A Proud Infidel®™️

Maybe one out of a million might ask that, but the rest of them will be screaming “BLEHLEHLEHLEHLEHLEH, kill everyone that isn’t just like us…” and hacking each other’s heads off!

Dad’s answer: “Son. Have you ever made love to a Donkey?”

OR “Son, have you ever watched a goat pr0n flick?”
“Son, have you ever seen a crowd of naked Men near a flock of goats or sheep?”
“Son, have yo ever watched naked men on a Thursday night?”

timactual

I have often wondered why those Arabs covered up their women and let the goats and sheep walk around naked.

Ret_25X

Of course, being a conscript army made up of those too slow or stupid to avoid conscription and led by those who purchased their commissions–what could go wrong?

My take, pull EVERYTHING out. Even the embassy…which should be blown to fine dust.

Place them in the same trade status as Iran as they are now nothing but a new Iranian province.

Take everything paid for by Americans out with us….tanks, airplanes, rifles, night vision devices, air traffic control systems, water pumps, fuel tanks, etc. You name it, we take it.

Treat Iraqi airspace like we do Pakistani or Syrian airspace…free and open.

Strike any targets of opportunity at will.

Also, pull everything out of Kuwait, SA, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Egypt, etc, etc.

Let them kill each other and hate us for free.

Ret_25X

I can hear the whinging from Europe now when their gasoline goes to $100E a liter.

Oh well…don’t like it, go deal with it.

This could be a win/win…leave the bogus “nations” in SWA with nothing and no US money AND leave the EU sweating at the end of a burning rope.

The Europeans can virtue signal them to death, I guess.

Berliner

$3,711,900,430 in US Aid to Iraq (partial reporting for 2018-2019) from all US Agencies.

OK… You want us out? Our money goes out first followed by ALL military equipment and supplies donated to Iraq from aspirin and bootlaces to aircraft, weapons, ammunition and vehicles.

Poof! GONE! Enjoy!

Blaster

+1

Hell yes!

Thunderstixx

Trump won’t hesitate a minute to do it either !!!
Break out the Orville Redenbacher !!!!

SFC D

Agree with everything but 1 little thing about the embassy.

Don’t destroy it. Booby trap the building, the grounds, all of it.

Insh’allah, motherfuckers.

Ret_25x, literally, there is nothing that could possibly make me happier than that! Sending our alpha men and women to get croaked trying to help these neanderthals, double digit deployments, ROE’s that no civilian police department here would obey, having to raise families on food stamps while working for the rest of us…BULLSHIT!! Stop it, now! I was not there, but have been incensed by this for most of this damned century. I want to die knowing it’s been ordered to be, and correctly deemed as tits up.

Ret_25X

some of the worst years of my life were spent there…faq em!

I feel the same way about ROK, btw..

In my vision of the best world, the US keeps its forces at home. In bad times, the USMC shows up. If the Army is sent that means the end of the road, jack.

The Army doesn’t build, it doesn’t mentor, it doesn’t restore infrastructure, it doesn’t try to teach pigs to dance. It destroys. You see the US Army, you die. Period.

We don’t need to be stationed around the world for that…

Club Manager, USA ret.

My thought about ROK but also add Bangkok and Philippines. My son rogers ROK and Saudi. Would imagine son-in-law would add Afghanistan.

BruteLarson44407

Indeed. A wise Prussian General said as much two centuries ago. Had to do some digging. I read him a lifetime ago in High School. I know, right? Had a badass Army Vet American History teacher, who handed me a book because I payed attention to his very detailed battle rundowns on the blackboard. The General wrote, “A kind hearted people might of course think there was some ingenious way to disarm or defeat an enemy without too much bloodshed, and might imagine this is the true goal of the art of war. Pleasant as it sounds; it is a fallacy that must be exposed. War is such a serious business that the mistakes that come from kindness are the very worst.”-CVC Most of it was over my head back then, but the years have force a little more wisdom on me. Hell, anyone in any branch of the military, or even on a 20th century sports team knows how effective group punishment is. Fair? I remember the spooky laugh my parents would intone when I was young enough to try to play that card! I hope your retirement is biscuits and gravy with no troublesome arterial plaque buildup! Out.

Wasn’t Sadr suppossed to be smoked long ago.
Seems to me he is a problem still.

Little sawed off fuck.

Roh-Dog

I still have beef with Sadr and all his boys.
I dont care for getting shot at and RPGs make me even more angry.
Anyone down for a safari trip?

rgr769

Would that be a Sadr-fari?

Roh-Dog

As long as they cut it out with the f**king VBIEDs and stick to shooting like men, I’ll allow it.

AFCombatCAM

He was supposed to get smoked back in 04 before he and his Mahdi Army/Militia became common knowledge.

David

Should have gone in and taken out every military and industrial target in 91.
Then gone back and bounced the rubble.
Then gone home.
Periodically announce a target, allow them to try and defend it, and bounce the rubble again to prove their defenses may work against their peers but not us. Then go home again.
Repeat until the message is understood.

Would have been ‘way cheaper in the long run, in both lives and aggravation.

Blaster

“We have our own armed forces which are capable of protecting the country,”

Yeah, we tried that once, and then a gang of thugs ( funded and armed by the Obama administration) started kicking your ass and killing your people. Remember??? I guess not!

When we leave,,, for the love of everything holy,,, take the damn checkbook with us!!!!

Rant on: I am absolutely full of listening to the Democrats and Hollywood elites act like it was a world renowned treasure killed instead of like a terrorist POS. I was always told to pick a side,, I guess THEY have picked theirs! :Rant off

ArmyATC

Let Iraqis fight for Iraq then. We should pull out of that cesspool…to the autonomous Kurdish region in the north. Arm, train and aid the Kurds and let the rest of the country go to hell in a handbasket with no foreign aid at all. Or let the EU or Russia step in to “help” Iraq.

Fyrfighter

Hell, the Brits and French drew all the original borders from the middle east, based on nothing more than a whim back in 1916.. I say we do the same now!
Give the Kurds their own land, along with a base for us, big enough for any future uses we might have, and let the rest of the retards kill themselves off.

AW1Ed

Well, bye.

“Non-binding.” So their congress is as useless as ours- just making noise. They’d likely beshat themselves if we did take all our toys and went home.

Blaster

That would give their BFFs from Iran an opportunity for o fill the void. I wonder how the Sunni population of Iraq is going to feel about that.

Oh well, it’s their problem. They all ( Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc) just need to remember that there will be consequences to every action involving US interests or Americans.

OWB

Sounds good from here.

Aww, we get to go home! Bye. Democrat mind puzzler– do they complain and how can they blame Trump?

Dmocrats do not want our troops anywhere
including the USA.

A Proud Infidel®™

True, D-rats and liberals always think that everything can be solved by talking, group hugs and singing “Kum-ba-yah”.

11B-Mailclerk

-How- we exit the region matters.

Note that Afghanistan and Iraq both border Iran. Iran has good ports on the Gulf.

Just a thought.

26Limabeans

Good reason for Iraq and Afghanistan to
swallow Iran in a mutually agreed upon plan to
make the world a better place.
Call it Iraqiranistan.
Then let them swallow Pakistan with all those
call centers…..
