Is Jay Inslee the next Jefferson Davis?

| March 24, 2009

Short answer is no. As misguided as Davis may have been, he was not a complete retard which is something Representative Inslee cannot claim.

File this under: “You Can’t Make This Shit Up”.

The moratorium on offshore oil drilling “will be reinstated,” Inslee told CNSNews.com, but he did not specify whether he meant the executive branch moratorium or the one from the Interior Department. “One way or the other, it will be reinstated,” said Inslee. “One way or the other, by any means necessary. “We are off the Pacific coast, and there would be a civil war,” said Inslee. “There would be something like a secessionist movement if there was a serious attempt to [permanently] remove the moratorium.”

Perhaps Mr. Inslee is not just retarded, he is also ignorant of history. Aside from far superior leadership the last secessionist movement also enjoyed an alliance of a significant portion of the country with a clear line of distinction between the two warring parties. When this line got a bit fuzzy West Virginia was created and presto, clear line again.

This allowed Davis, Breckenridge, Lee and the boys to exploit total control of interior lines of communication. Why is this important? Because apparently Mr. Inslee hasn’t managed an alliance of quite such a scope:

But Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), who serves on the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming and also attended the conference, told CNSNews.com that offshore oil drilling should provide an integral part of American energy and recommended the Interior Department begin distributing offshore oil drilling leases.
…………………………
“Yes,” the Interior Department should begin distributing leases for offshore oil and gas exploration, Walden told CNSNews.com.

So, it doesn’t appear that Inslee’s secession idea is likely to gain much traction.

But what would we be losing if this dumbass could convince his fellow citizens that this was a good idea?

I personally don’t think grunge-rock, Starbucks and Yakima Training Area is worth a war. And with the Seahawks out of the picture maybe San Antonio can finally get a NFL team.

Hey, Yakistan is a vitally important training area for um… stuff. Yeah, I got nothing. It’s sad that this is the only reason we show up in the news.
