Alleged Intruder Dies at Scene After Homeowner Opens Fire

AWR Hawkins
An alleged intruder died at the scene early Friday after a Harrodsburg, Kentucky, homeowner opened fire on him.

Officers were dispatched to the residence around 5:00 a.m., WKYT noted.

LEX18 reported that Mercer County Deputy Coroner Dan Eades identified the deceased suspect as 36-year-old Daniel Hyatt.

Responding officers found Hyatt suffering from a gunshot wound and “performed life-saving measures,” but he succumbed to his injuries.

The Lexington Herald-Leader pointed out that “police described the shooting as an isolated incident, and said there is no threat to the public.”

Five am? Slacker. Too many people awake and about at that hour to pull a successful burglary.
Daniel should’a stayed at the Hyatt instead and enjoyed a comfortable night’s sleep.
Oh, and before I forget, good shooting on the homeowner’s part. A “GO” at this station, no further range time needed. But I would suggest asking the Authoritahs for a refresh on the ammo expended. That stuff ain’t cheap.

SA-22 , nice looking little gun. I had a Remington model 241. That is a clone my uncle Bob gave me many years ago. I passed it on to my nephew. That thing has had a huge pile of ammo thru it and seldom has choked on any of it. It is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot but be careful to not let any spent brass go down your sleeve. That stuff is hot! It got so you could see the bullets going down range if you were behind the shooter. That was because the recoil spring was getting tired. A new set of Wolfe springs cured that problem nicely.
