Police: Man who shot intruder at Camden home should be protected by Stand Your Ground law
By Kiana Miller and Laurel Mallory
CAMDEN, S.C. (WIS) – Police believe an early morning shooting in Camden during a home invasion was justified. The shooting happened in the 700 block of Maggie Avenue around 4:15 a.m. Friday.
A lady was in her home with her boyfriend and several children when her ex-boyfriend tried to break in, police said.
The woman called 911, alerting dispatch of the situation and saying she had an order of protection against her ex-boyfriend.
A deputy with the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office arrived within minutes, but the ex-boyfriend had already left the area.
But a short time later, the ex-boyfriend went back to the home. When he forced his way in that time, the woman’s current boyfriend shot the man inside the home, police said.

Three up, three down, nobody “out”. Too bad none of the victims applied The One More Taxpayer’s Savings Shot. Now there’s a bunch of deadbeats soaking up the taxpayers’ money with medical care, and the entirety of the judicial system.
That teenager in KC, MO should have an interesting name worthy of Claw’s attention – if you can find it.

Bet Ol’ Jeremiah got a little jump when those 3 rounds whizzed by. Bet you’re not feeling so froggie today.

Sadly, no. Son #2 has the S&W Airweight, which is a handy little piece.
I carry a S&W Airweight. Good piece.
My shooting buddy has an Airweight.
It is the most painful gun I have ever used.
Bang! Ouch! Bang! Ouch!
I cant even got thru 5 shots
A nearby bystander stopped the robbery by shooting three rounds and detaining Bradley until police arrived. — Geez, Louise, at least shoot the perp in the foot, willya?
P.S.: Sister Mary Grace wants to know if that snub-nosed revolver is the same as the one carried by SGT Joe Friday in ‘Dragnet’.
You have roughly 50-50 odds that it was, in those days you had a choice of a six shot Colt with potentially iffy trigger pull or 5 shot Smith you could easily tune. Nowhere near the plethora of choices now.
We carried the 5 shot Smith back in the day. My sergeant swore his would fire around a corner without him leaning to do so.
The range sgt put it in a gun vise to test it. It shot 10.37 inches to the left when sighted on the X in the 10 ring, consistently. The weapon earned a well-deserved retirement.
Barrel and front sight indexed wrong, unless the barrel is pinned that is curable.
I bought a S&W SS M60 5 shot Chiefs Special .38 a couple of years ago from my neighbor for a hundred bucks in just about new condition except for some marks on the cylinder that look like “AAAGGGGH” vise grip marks. Ejector rod bent a hair but I don’t own a lathe to straighten it out. Bought another from Brownells but never installed it. Didn’t have a hard work surface to mallet bent one out either. Shoots ok and I keep it in a safe
You can buy a small anvil from Harbor Freight for a few bucks… once you own one you will wonder how yo ever got along without one. VERY handy!
Thank you!
Thought it was an Odd Statement to say the current boyfriend in the Camden, SC shooting would not be charged with “anything related to this incident”?
Did he have an outstanding warrant for parking tickets? Not felon with a gun, or something of that sort, so he was legally carrying and justified in the shooting, but still may go to jail.
Three rounds fired, all missed?
Don’t know – but some range time may be in order.
