Double shooting in Warren leaves suspected intruder dead
By Norb Franz
Warren police believe a double shooting early Friday morning inside a home where a suspected intruder was killed may have been drug-related.A man armed with two semi-automatic weapons was killed during the gunfire at the home in the 30000 block of Blancke Drive, near Hoover and Common roads, police said.
Police received a call shortly after 2 a.m. that a 20-year-old man inside the house was injured. The man said he was in a lower-level bedroom when he was awakened by a masked man who was wearing gloves and armed with two semi-automatic guns, police said.
During a struggle for one of the weapons, the occupant shot the intruder who then returned fire, striking the resident, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the home invasion suspect, age 26, dead on the floor of the lower-level bedroom inside the colonial-style house.
The 20-year-old occupant, suffering from gunshot wounds to one thigh and one finger, was transported to McLaren Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens where he was expected to undergo surgery. He was in stable condition.

Good guy with a gun strikes again to protect the public
by Brad Polumbo
When a man walked into a Missouri Walmart carrying a rifle and dressed in body armor on Thursday, America could’ve seen its third high-profile mass shooting in just over a week. Luckily, an armed hero stopped the potential shooter in his tracks and reminded us how guns are often used for good.An off-duty firefighter shopping in the store was carrying a firearm, and detained the suspect at gunpoint before panic turned into bloodshed. It’s a noble act of heroism that surely won’t get the coverage it deserves.
Too often, media wants to pretend these stories don’t exist, or at least cover them in far less detail than actual shootings.
The myriad examples of a “good guy with a gun” are regularly dismissed as a myth and brushed over in favor of coverage of successful shootings that better serve the gun control narrative. This media malpractice was on full display in the NBC News story reporting on this latest incident in Missouri, which named the armed suspect, but did not name the hero who stopped him.

Busy day, Delta Whiskies and Whisketts. One DRT and five inconvenienced one way or another. None in the wind, at least for now.

“a dice game went awry”
Haven’t seen one of those here until now.
A nice twist.
That gal is carrying a pair of huge guns.
And what’s with the leaf spring in her left paw?
Photo must have been taken in a salvage yard.
Looking at the size of her hands in relation to that Desert Eagle, she’s not gonna have fun when she pulls the trigger.
Shameless plug – if you get a chance at a Desert Eagle 1911, grab it. Sweetest factory .45 at a reasonable price EVER.
Anyone remember the .44 Auto Mag.? How about the defunct .38/357 Super vel ammo.
Dunno – I have a friend who is a sweet, petite little cutie who loves her Desert Eagle .50 and has a ball shooting it.
Size isn’t all that matters.
It’s actually an ice axe… still doesn’t answer the why, but there ya go.
I thought she was role playing Laura Croft, and it was a bow…but you are correct it is a climbing axe.
Maybe she is looking for diamonds in the rough?
A drug related B&E in a suburb of Baltimore? Say it ain’t so. Must be Trump’s fault.
Somebody crapped out in Detroit? Why am I not surprised?

She’s thinking:
“do I drop the weapon and swat
the Moose Fly on my forehead or just squash

Forehead? I worry that you looked at her FOREHEAD!

Looks like that Officer had some proper home training. Proves it does still happen. BZ to him and his wing mates. Stories like these do make one wonder where the lady’s family is. Do they not want to help Grandma out, or does Grandma not want them around? Or is she all alone in the world?
The zoomie is a good man, but hardly a “hero” as the story calls him. That word is used too often, and the definition is being diluted.
On the other hand, to that woman? Yes, he is a hero.
You don’t have to be a superhero, to be a hero to those you help. You just have to give a darn, and demonstrate it.

Stoegers tend to be a bit rough, out of the box. Slicked up by a smith who knows what he is doing, they are a fighting iron you can trust.
The one I bought for Cowboy Action Shooting is still in good shape, two decades later. I have run thousands of rounds through it, possibly more than ten thousand.
The spot on her forehead could be skin Keratosis. I have one on my back and one on the side of my forehead. Had one between my upper nose and eye and after a few years of friends saying that I should get it removed, I did. A one two three job. Shot with a needle and scalpel scrape.
Or, those might be makeup smudges to suggest rough play while adventuring.
