Woman admits to shooting in southwest Louisville, claims self-defense

Lauren Adams
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It was just after 3 a.m. Tuesday when neighbors on Patricia Drive, off Cane Run Road, woke up to the sound of gunfire.

Gail, who asked her last name not be used, said she first heard three shots: “And then I heard two more, so I came to the door and looked out. There were three people on the porch, screaming at each other.”

Gail saw a woman lying outside her neighbor’s home and called 911.

Police say Cicley Herring, 35, later admitted to shooting the victim. She made her first court appearance Wednesday morning.

Arguing for a lower bond, attorney Nick Neumann told the judge, “I think it’s clear there’s going to be two sides to this story.”

Neumann said his client had acted in self-defense. He said Herring and another woman, friends according to police, got into an argument at a club at 26th and Broadway. The situation later escalated outside Herring’s home.

“It was her property, there were threats, a person who had followed her home. She had called the police, there was no help, no one there. She’s there by herself with someone approaching her with an apparent object, and she did what she needed to do in the end,” he said.

Police are still investigating as to whether the suspects had any real guns or not. The shooting was initially reported as an attempted car burglary, police said.

HOUSTON — A homeowner fatally shot a 19-year-old man outside a home in east Houston late Tuesday, police said.

The shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m. in the 13300 block of Force, not far from Uvalde and I-10.

Police initially reported the incident as an attempted car burglary turned deadly, but the investigation is still underway at this time.

Police now believe a group of people firing paintball guns at the family’s home was the catalyst for the shooting.

“They were alerted to some sort of disturbance,” said Sgt. Joshua Horn with the Houston Police Department. “They believed that they were – that their house was being shot at. The homeowner, the father, came outside to the disturbance, approached a suspect who was standing out here. Believed that he was a threat, fearing for his safety, fired a round at him.”

Is Cicley a communist? A Red Herring? (rimshot)

She certainly is not the catch of the day. If I did hook that one I’d throw her back.

The thug mentality in Macon and Warner Robins is spilling out on all sides. Perry was a nice quiet, sleepy little town. Now-a-days…not so much.

If you gonna go out and paint the town, make sure your canvas doesn’t draw a bead on you.

“Light Horse Harry” A fine Military Leader and Senator. The congress critters we have slurping at the trough now would bode well to take lessons from him. Anybody else notice that the states who had the strongest ideals of personal liberty (MA, VA, MD) now seem to be bastions of Big Brother?

In order to ward off the demons brought on by the gun pr0n of the bastardization, err, err, the plasticatation of his holy design, shall we all turn in the book of Rev, CH 19 V 11.
