A boat anchored at Suwarrow Atoll, Cook Islands. (CTCT23/Alarmy.com)
If you’ve been to an area of the world where the beaches are white and the sea water is clear, you’ll know that the above photo doesn’t do it any justice. If you were on a boat gliding over these waters, it’d almost be like you’re floating in the air. Swimming in these kinds of waters could give one the impression of “flying” depending on conditions.
This photo shows some rocks and white sand. Other beaches offer sea vegetation in the distance, along with brightly colored sea life. I remember walking into the water in GITMO and seeing bright colored fishes dart between my legs… Then seeing schools of blue and yellow fishes swim in a “ditch” under me as I snorkeled out into deeper waters.
Now that commercial and meteorological summer has started, here’s hoping to a fun summer. Enjoy your weekend.

FIRST!
Suck a fat baby’s dick!!
BBBWWHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!
Sorry 5th/77th.
I had to do it.
Congrats to my Airdaled Brother. You da man. Side tracked by the Hemisphere of Insults and missed getting back by nano seconds. Did want the 5 pete but wasn’t meant to be.
Lord over and promptly!
Congrats Chip! You DA MAN!!!
Why the unnecessary profanity? Did you feel a need to demonstrate your lack of kouth to the world?
Heh heh.![](https://valorguardians.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/mrgreen.png)
Congrats ChipNASA.
May the rats of the Cong rejoice in your Firstness.
1st
😆😆😆😆
What about this?![](https://valorguardians.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/mrgreen.png)
Well, first can you give us an AAR on the eating event of last weekend in your AO?
Did everyone eat sufficiently, and have you been working on leftovers all week? How many butter tubs did you use?
Hope y’all had a blast.
And now, a musical interlude.
I went to the that store and the secret stash when I did a class at Fort Dix.
First
DAMMIT….so close!
Oh well. At least I don’t have to hear the cannon cocker and his Time on Target bragging!
Patience Pappy, my life ain’t over just yet. Bucket list is to beat the Chipster and make the ACE 5 in a row. Made Ace by having 5 or more FIRSTs, just not a 5 pete. We will have to defer to his royalness Claw, the Keeper of the Coveted Book of FIRSTs!
Musta got slowed down by the over eating I did this week past. Yeah…I’ll go with that. At least it was a contest this time.
Huh, Yep, 4 in a row and many others.
I’m an Ace at least , too. And if memory serves, there are quite a few others but not in a row.
I don’t know if I have that many WOT Firsts, but maybe Claw can check the BOF and see if we have any Double Aces.
Checked the Coveted Book Of WOT Firsts for totals and here are the results:
ChipNASA – 32
Yours Truly – 23
CommissionerWretched – 13
Wilted Willy – 12
5th/77th FA – 12
Honorable Mention/Working on it:
Skippy – 8
IDC SARC – 6
AW1Ed – 5 (Still holds a place of honor for being the very first “FIRST” recorded back on 24 April 2015)
Not to toot my own horn but sextuple Ace? Damn, I had no idea I had that many firsts.
Jesus, I need to get a life 😉 😀
And firsts are 5 years old?
Wow.
“And firsts are 5 years old?”
Yep, just started on Page 11 of the Coveted Book Of Firsts, with each page having 22/23 entries.
Keeping up with the WOT Firsts is a small price to pay for keeping the troops happy./smile
Have you made a decision on two or more people who announce “first” at the same time? Or, is the system trusted to organize order of posting down to the “nanoseconds”?
I’m trusting the system. All “Firsts” that appear with the same hour/minute time stamp are entered into the CBOF with a little gold star denoting the very first First.
Sextuple? Leave it to a damn flyboy to try and make it about sex somehow . . . . (smile)
I got a big fat goose egg.
Almost first, missed it by that much
Not even in the ball park for first, so I’ll drop in the trivia column instead. Hope all of you have a great weekend! DID YOU KNOW…? What game show of the 1960s featured Major League Baseball players as contestants? By Commissioner Wretched I get some pretty interesting e-mail. For instance, not long ago I received a note from a reader who said, “I don’t understand a single word you write, but you certainly seem to believe it all.” What does one make of that? Or the reader who said, regarding the April Fool column this year, that he thought all of the items were fake – in all of the columns. Of course, he then said he was just joking, but one must wonder … And then there was the e-mail that was the oddest. The writer asked if, when writing the column, I ever talk to myself. I responded, “Yes, of course I do. It’s perfectly fine to talk to yourself. It’s perfectly fine to answer yourself. You can even argue with yourself. “What’s not cool, however, is losing the argument.” I suppose I could have given the writer my other favorite answer: “Sometimes around here, it’s the only way I can have an intelligent conversation.” But I know that when I write to you in this silly column, I’m not talking to myself. So enjoy this one-sided conversation, and if you feel moved to reply, I’m at didyouknowcolumn@gmail.com. Did you know … … the first parking meter was installed in 1935? It was at the corner of First Street and Robinson Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Less than a month later, the meter produced its first parking ticket, given to a minister who told the officer he was running into a store to get change for the meter. (If it was anyone other than a minister, I’d be saying, “Sure you were!”) … one of the rarest Pez dispensers in the world features a toy? Among the most difficult to find of the Pez candy dispensers is the one with Mr. Potato Head on it. The dispenser… Read more »
We’re finding now that Mars not only has water ice (as does the Moon), it also has Marsquakes.
If Mars bars are manufactured on Earth, are they really Mars bars?
Korolev Crater on Mars… Photo taken by Mars Express orbiter last year (yes, that is frozen H2O in the crater)

On a related note to the number of births above, there is a study out that argues that anybody with European ancestry has a good chance of being Charlemagne’s descendant.
Also, Jules Verne’s science fiction novels have scenes that essentially became nonfiction… Though with some differences.
Here is an article talking about Jonathan Swift’s mention of the Martian moons in his novel:
https://theness.com/neurologicablog/index.php/jonathan-swift-predicted-the-moons-of-mars/
As far as the Charlemagne’s descendants thing, it would be practically impossible for anyone of western European descent to not be a descendant of Charlemagne. If you are alive today, back in 1700 there were roughly 1,000 of your ancestors walking around. Granted, a lot of them were duplicates, but still, one thousand. In 1400, there were a billion of your ancestors. In 1100, you had 1,000 billion ancestors. Charlemagne lived around 800, when you had a billion billion ancestors. An extreme number of duplicates, yes, but still, how could Charlemagne not have been one of them?
Should anyone point out that in 1400 one billion was greater than the population of the entire planet?
That was one of the arguments that they used. As you go further back, generations wise, the numbers keep doubling. Two parents, four grandparents, eight great-grandparents, etc.
Even factoring in the duplicates, that number kept getting bigger. But, the world’s population gets smaller the further back you go.
The further back in time we go, the greater chances that we descended from somebody that lived in the geographical area that our ancestral roots led to.
Descended from ancient Romans and Celts? The math would argue for it for ancestral roots leading into areas occupied by both.
One could play around with these facts.
For example, the most likely location for the epicenter of what would’ve been Atlantean civilization would’ve been in Southeast Asia. Plato puts their end at what we would see as the end of the last mega glaciation. Around 11,500 years ago. Run the “doubling” exercise for those with Asian ancestry.![](https://valorguardians.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/mrgreen.png)
13rd and Honorary First once again.
(((OVER))))
Thirteenth on a Friday.![](https://valorguardians.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/mrgreen.png)
For those who don’t already watch The History Guy’s daily dose, he did a great episode today on the USS Nevada and its role in the D-Day landings. Helluva ship!

And for anyone looking for a reason to vomit and/or cancel your Showtime subscription:
Hey, hookers have to make a living, too, y’know.
Fuck Bradley.
Not enough booze in the world. 😉
Won’t be much longer before Brad’s only employment option is porn. Even the liberals are ignoring him for the most part now. He’s just a sideshow attraction.
If he/it/xe is in a porno that is going to be some pretty deviant footage. The market for that would be pretty limited to other trannies, I would think. Forcing a straight dude to watch it might make a more effective interrogation move that waterboarding.
No thanks. I’d rather take my chances disarming a nuclear bomb or racing a Japanese bullet train on foot (with it behind me) then watch that.
Not first but it is a beautifull sunny day to lie under a crawler in a pool of hydraulic fluid while trying replace a hose that goes to some damn thing deep in the belly of the beast.
Congrats to ChipNASA. Somebody had to play the spoiler. The five peat is still the holy grail.
Medical tip:
Hydraulic fluid and blood are about the same viscosity. You can use the same rag to stop the flow when you gash your melon on the torque converter sump.
Happy weekend everyone!!!
Yall could have let us non computer proficient people know the site moved to a new address. I’ve been frantically hitting refresh for a while now, took a link from “The Other Mcain” to get me back on track. Or was that a ploy to put Lars off course?
If it was a ploy, it didn’t work.
I was thinking the same initially but I went over to Military Phonies after a couple of days and found a little blurb about the move along with a link. In answer to your question regarding a certain individual, no I don’t believe that was the intent. If it was, it didn’t work.
There’s a plan being discussed to reach out to others to notify them of the move. As for Lars, he crossed over to the new location when the rest of us did. He even managed to get into a few debates.
“Debates”, he’s just like a guy wearing antlers and a brown leather coat while on a nature walk during deer season.
That’s my impression of him, and others that try to argue against us over here. It’s like they are slapping shark bait all over themselves, and then jumping into shark-infested waters. In their minds; however, they think that they are destroying us.
Present!
Thirty seven
Dang, forgot all about it being WOT/First-Day.
Part of being retired and unemployed, I suppose.
One of the benefits of having a wonderful wife who is concerned for you: Mrs. GB saw a dark spot on back edge of my left ear (the one constantly in the sun when driving in Texas). The doctor cut it off this morning and says 9:10 it is just a mole, but he’s having it checked.
Kinda a reminder – have someone who loves you check you for abnormal areas on your epidermis from time to time.
I’ll miss the First contest for next week’s WOT – taking my brother to an eye-doctor follow-up, and then getting stitches out of my ear. So ChipNASA and 5th/77th FA can just not have to worry about me stealing their thunder.
Y’all have a great weekend!
“…a dark spot on back edge of my left ear (the one constantly in the sun when driving in Texas). The doctor cut it off this morning…”
Damn, Beard, don’t think I’d let the doctor cut off my ear just to remove a mole!
Yesterday, on the Google homepage, they had their regular display. You guys know what yesterday was. Today? A graphic for the Women’s Cup.
Trump, in order to spin his usual “13 angry democrats” narrative and to discredit the Mueller report just revealed a classified source.
Mueller had not said the source worked for US intelligence to protect sources and methods.
Trump decided outing a valuable US intel source would help his narrative that the investigation was a deep state/ liberal/ intel community conspiracy to overthrown his administration.
(Shakes his head)
What a sad, sad , pathetic excuse for a man, you are. Orange man bad; Orange man bad; Orange man bad.
Here’s a flock of forty birds for you, Seagull.
If you’re referring to this:
https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/447394-key-figure-that-mueller-report-linked-to-russia-was-a-state-department
I’m not seeing a thing about Trump outing this guy. Would you please be so kind as to educate us?
The commie cuttlefish won’t name him because the man is a deep cover double/triple agent for us. But I know his code number, it is 007. The Ruskies think agent Bondsky is really working for them. The cuttlefish doesn’t want his name out there cuz Putin will have him whacked, now that evil Orange Man, whose real name is Bloefeld, has exposed him.
But with you, Lars, it was perfectly fine for the FBI and CIA to use such classified sources in an illegal attempt to bring down a president?
Those are some pretty selective values you have there.
I know all this because I hold the FLACCID MICROPENIS OF TRUTH as my talisman!!!!
ORANGE MAN BAD
ORANGE MAN BAD
ORANGE MAN BAD
Now give me my tofu burger and soy smoothie!!!
Like all progs Lars is perfectly happy to alter his ethics in order to attain more power. He wants us all to have what they have in California-one city covered in homeless poop and the other with a looming typhus outbreak.
They will get it right -this- time! They will do it the -correct- way, by the -best- people! The bad stuff is all wreckers and saboteurs. The Shining Path leads to the Radiant Future!
Wreckers, hoarders, saboteurs and kulaks!
You can’t be a prog without believing your own bullshit, and if it isn’t your fault (what with all your high minded ideals and all) well it must be some nefarious entity.
Well, you know what they say: manure floats. The democraps will rise again.
Is this like when Liberals claimed that the Bush administration outed Valerie Plame and it turned out that she openly worked out of CIA HQ and was “outed” by her husband?
And interestingly, the same DOJ/FBI cabal had a hand in the Plame affair. The federal prosecutor knew at the outset that that a career State Departmenteer, Richard Armitage, was the source of the news article confirming her employment by the CIA. Scooter Libby was prosecuted for a process crime, lying to investigators, as they could not convict on the CIA agent disclosure statute because she had not had a covert overseas op for well over five years. But it is true that her husband routinely outed her as a CIA employee at DC cocktail parties and she drove into and out of the Langley CIA HQ on a regular basis. Every foreign intel agency knew she was CIA. But all these “empiric facts” are irrelevant to progs like the cuttlefish.
Surfing around the Interwebz I found this.
Here we have an apparently intelligent man who collects and taste-tests MREs and other field rations produced for military forces around the world.
What makes me wonder about his intelligence is when he does this … gets a 1942 U.S. Army field ration that seems to be in good shape, and actually eats it.
You have to see it for yourself.
When I first got to Vietnam in 1965, we routinely got WWII C-rations, identifiable as such by the green packages of Lucky Strikes.
L.S./M.F.T.
Here’s another one, testing something intended for consumption in a Civil War battlefield:
Hardtack and salt pork (maybe some jerky) were the meal of the day, pretty much every day, for soldiers back then. Makes our MREs look like a Michelin star meal in comparison.
That one is impressive, but I have to ask …
How does he know what moth balls taste like?
My teenage son cooked up some hardtack for one of our Civil War re-enactments, using a supposed period recipe. That stuff was so hard you could fracture a tooth trying to eat it. He got so much criticism for it from his “pards” that he drilled a divot in a piece of that batch of hardtack and glued a Minnie ball into it. Thus, the point being it was so tough it would stop a bullet. It was quite a novelty item he often carried in the breast pocket of his shell jacket.
Love that guy. I find his reviews interesting (my favorite video is the 1961 Meal Quick Serve that could serve six soldiers). I tried a couple MREs because of him.
If anybody want M16A1 S/N # 1 its up for auction, its nice but will be out of my budget. https://youtu.be/wMIBUIN30yU

Here is an interesting view from a former war protester now conservative editorialist:

Todays college leftists live on, spawned by the communists that never grew out of the 70’s.
Their grandchildren will “bury us”.

Just in time for people in the EDT Zone, here’s a little brain-worm to take with you to the supper table:
When Miley Cyrus is naked and licks a sledge hammer, it’s called “Art”.
But when I do it, I’m “Drunk” and “Have to leave Home Depot”./smile
