Regarding our presence in Afghanistan, it appears that the Taliban are having just as much trouble with ISIS as they used to have and that ISIS is regrouping. My view is that we should just get the hell out of there and let them kill each other off. But that’s just me.
From the article: Deadly clashes between jihadi rivals the Taliban and the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) have intensified this week in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, reportedly leaving several terrorists dead and displacing hundreds of families.
Neighboring Nangahar and Kunar provinces border Pakistan, which the United States, India, and Afghanistan have repeatedly accused of harboring the Afghan Taliban and other jihadis.
In an interview with Khaama Press (KP) published on Thursday, Ataullah Khogyani, a spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar, confirmed that “clashes intensified between Taliban and ISIS militants in [the province’s] Khogyani and Shirzad district in the past two days, leaving several militants dead.”
Is there really a good reason for us to be there? We haven’t stopped the opium trafficking, No one has ever been able to stop any of that crap from spreading all over the planet. The pseudo-religious warfare is a squabble over something that makes them want to kill each other off, so why not just get out of their way and sell tickets to it?
However, in the view of the Iranian Foreign Minister, Zarif thinks that Trump does not want war, but is being goaded into it.
TEL AVIV – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday said he does not believe President Donald Trump wants war with Iran, but added that the American president could be lured into a conflict by a “B-team” comprising national security adviser John Bolton, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.
“I don’t think [Trump] wants war,” Zarif said in an interview with Reuters at the Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York. “But that doesn’t exclude him being basically lured into one.” Zarif pointed to what he coined a “B-team” goading him into war, which included Bolton and Netanyahu.
He’s such a peacenik, isn’t he?

The “religion of Peace” has been slaughtering itself since Mohammed died. The names change, the slaughter continues.
