Deadly force ruled justified in Cave Junction shooting

by KTVL
CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — The Oregon State Police have concluded their investigation into a fatal November 2018 shooting in the Cave Junction area. Josephine County District Attorney Ryan Mulkins has found a man justified in his use of deadly force from the incident.

The investigation into the death of Richard O’Coyne, 46, indicated that he was driving a Ford Expedition with an adult male passenger on the day of the shooting, November 2, 2018. According to the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office report, Ocoyne drove to R-Hogg-Farm motorcycle shop in Cave Junction that Friday morning. Once there, he fired a gun from inside his car at the front door of the motorcycle shop. The bullet went through the door, striking a glass case inside and traveling all the way toward the back of the shop.

O’Coyne then drove to the home of Christopher Lorne at 162 Kenrose Lane in Cave Junction, arriving just after 7:30 that morning. He parked his SUV approximately 10 to 15 feet from the front window of the home, where Lorne was asleep inside. After parking, O’Coyne fired two shots with an M-15 rifle towards the residence.

Armed lieutenant governor candidate runs strangers out of his home

By: Paul Woolverton
Hoke County commissioner and Democratic N.C. lieutenant governor candidate Allen Thomas Jr. said he used a 12-gauge shotgun to scare away several people who had entered a townhome he rents in Greenville.

“It was a very, very intense situation,” Thomas said on Monday. “I was fearful. It took about 10 minutes for the police to arrive. And the last thing I wanted to do was have to use deadly force.”

The incident happened shortly before noon on Saturday in Pitt County. Thomas posted a video of the encounter to his Facebook page.

The video shows Thomas pointing the shotgun at his locked bedroom door and warning the men, who had been knocking, “If you open that door, there’s going to be some problems, man.”

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

Thomas said he saw the men run out the front door shortly before Greenville police arrived. He estimated there were four or five people in the townhome.

Thomas, who lives in Raeford, said he rents the second floor of a three-story townhome in the University Suites residential complex in Greenville. It’s a place to stay when he visits Greenville for his job and to see his 9-year-old son who lives in the city. Allen Thomas Jr. of Raeford is not be confused with Allen M. Thomas, the former mayor of Greenville who now is running for Congress.

Been a very long week, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. All this puts the score at 1/ 0 / 5, with one achieving ambient temperature, a surprising zero stacked and packed in a patient’s gown or jump-suit orange, and 5 runners in the wind. These bother me the most; MS-13 are, but I carry, er, … have protection.

He is a panderer who thinks success is defined by how much money you extort from taxpayers.

Neither the name of the store nor the ethninticity of the perps surprise me. FD are building the stores in areas where they know they will be robbed. One of their managers told me awhile back that it is budgeted into their business model.

One of the knives/sword look more like a machattee. Didn’t show the employee with the gun, but it did show the perps beating feet in a hurry.

J.R. Johnson

Not swords, Machete and Hunting Knife. Traditionally a sword has cross guard that separates the hilt from the blade.

“Analysis of O’Coyne’s urine revealed the presence of methamphetamine, cyclobenzaprine, cannabinoids, and LSD”

Good God. The cyclobenzaprine alone (Flexeril) is a powerful muscle relaxer. It will put you to sleep for days. Or forever in his case.
Snort some crystal, drop some acid and have a good smoke.

Love the baby Colt in .32 ACP.
Sweet pocket pistol with smooth lines.
Nobody gonna see it.

The company making the limited edition of those Colt 1903’s are making them in .380 also. From American Rifleman.

Me want! I actually downloaded a copy of that cheesecake image at the top.

Su-weeeeeeT.

Ret_25X

Flexeril is one of the mild muscle relaxers. It is also one of the few that can be given in low dose form for daily use.

And boy am I glad that it can be. Between Flexeril and celebrex I can function most days pain free….

26Limabeans

10mg and I am knee walking.
5mg at bedtime and I sleep through the next day.

Diclofenac was prescribed with it last time. Gut wrenching stuff.
Not as bad as Indicin but bad enough.
Throw in the 2gm dose of Ammox just before a dental visit (fake hip) and I am “out of service” until further notice.

Tallywhagger

Is it any good for rotator cuff, tennis elbow pain?

Ibuprofen and Advil is not git’n’r done.

26Limabeans

Aleve would be a notch up.
My first choice before seeking help.

Tallywhagger

Thanks, I’ll try Aleve and see if does anything.

Doc had me on 3.2 grams of Ibuprofen and .8 grams of Advil but stomach couldn’t handle it.

The worst of it is not being able to sleep on the side. I haven’t tried Ambien to see if it will keep me asleep all night despite the pain.

Ah well, I have no room to complain, there are lots of folks out there with debilitating pain who would love to have to have my symptoms.

Loves the little pocket Colt, it’s on my bucket list to find an orphan one and give it a good home. Lusted after one I saw a good while back, but it was just a little spendy for me at that time. (read soon to be ex had other plans for my money)

Oregon; pretty damn good shot from bed. Wonder if his .45 caliber was an 1191 model Jaun Moss Brownley? (How is that a name?) Can we get a gun pr0n shot of the M15? Dumbazz junkie played a real stooopid game and won the top prize.

Glad the firefighter was OK. The article was short on info. Maybe put a practice range at the firehouse, indoors?

That whole Fayettenam story seems a little Jussie Smollett to me. Just saying. Read thru it 3 times and it got more and more, head scratchable. Shotgun must have been very well concealed for it not to be found with the room being trashed? Ammo in a desk drawer that trashers didn’t find? Perps left before popo got close? Almost get that. His concerns about a law that could save his life? Sounds like he wants to repeal that when/if elected? Not to be confused? I’m betting there is more to this story.

Roll today’s winning over for now. The Friday WOT may be wide open today. The tax man calleth. Apparently the winnings from the FGS, profits from pop corn futures, and the additional income from the packaging plants has put me in a higher bracket.

Brother I feel your pain…on my end, to expedite I gave up my equity in an eight year old 4 bedroom colonial style home 100 yards off a small lake in Western Massachusetts…so in my late 30s I was back to pretty much nothing except the clothes on my back, a piano, and a 20 year old Cadillac…now in my sixties I’m a bit better off but it was dicey for a while there…

She kept the Dog?

5th/77th FA

Man please my life could be a whole Country Western Album. Ex #3 was the one that had other plans for my money. #2 did keep custody of my dogs. Stonewall, my big Blue (Gray) Chow Chow she had put down cause he tried to bite her new husband. (She moved her secret boyfriend into the house the day after the divorce became final, married him a month later) Georgia Boo Bear, my girl Black Chow and Little Punk Rocker, a terrier mix mutt passed soon after; the vet thinks they actually died of depression/broken hearts a little while later.

I’ve started over 3 times due to my bad choices. My sister said my problem was I spoiled them. My spies tell me that all three are wallowing in their misery cause they run off or throwed away the best they ever had.

A demorat with a shot gun WTF. Oh that’s right in that it’s ok for the demorats to own firearms but not us conservatives/republicans. That DOA guy O’Coyne looks like he sells tonics and pots and pans out of a covered wagon with that hat he is wearing. Oh Coyne, to Coyne a phrase, drugs kill among other things like a .45 round to the head. I should have said a bullet to the head. A round consists of the bullet, propellant, case and primer. I don’t want to sound like a firearms expert nomenclator Splainer like those lame street media peeps.

Tallywhagger

That is a handsome pistol, nearly elegant in the smooth features.
