White Supremacist Conducts Mosque Mass Shooting

| March 15, 2019

Mosque mass shooting survivors. (Associated Press)

At least 49 worshipers have been killed in a mass shooting in a couple of mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. The shooter live streamed his actions on Facebook. According to the linked article, one of the suspects is Brenton Tarrant, a 28-year-old Australian.

He was no stranger to the works of other mass shooters. He read their manifestoes, and then wrote a 74 page manifesto of his own. Two of the manifestoes that he read were written by Daylan Roof (one of the American mass shooters) and Anders Breivik, Norway’s mass shooter.

From The Sun:

  • At least one gunman opened fire at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, at 1.40pm local time on Friday
  • 49 people have been killed – 41 at Masjid Al Noor Mosque, 7 at Linwood Masjid Mosque and 1 died at hospital
  • 48 people were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds and 20 are in critical condition
  • The killer is believed to be Brenton Tarrant, an Australian who published a chilling 74-page manifesto before the rampage
  • Cops arrested three men and a woman – initial reports of one wearing a suicide vest were incorrect
Police defused improvised explosives found on nearby booby-trapped cars

The man believed to be the shooter was known as a “well mannered” person. Those that knew him as “well mannered” were surprised that Brenton Tarrant did this. Brenton visited  both North Korea and Pakistan in the past, this may have contributed to his radicalization.

For all that work that he did for his 74 page manifesto, he and the others with him provided a propaganda windfall for radical Islamists to use against the West. You can read more here. Hoping for a speedy recovery for the wounded, and comfort for the grieving.

Yes he was a racist POS, but admired Marxism.

Amazing how those beliefs aren’t mutually exclusive.

rgr769

He is a fan of Mussolini’s version of socialism. He also finds the Communist Chinese government his fave current form of government. So obviously, he was motivated by something Trump tweeted.

Commissary

He was a right wing extremist. Explicitly.

Mussolini’s FASCISM was not socialism. The very word FASCISM is the specific word entirely intended to describe Mussolini’s authoritarian nationalistic views.

The enfuriating and pathological effort to try to rebrand fascism as Marxist or Socialist is ENTIRELY because you all know damn well that fascist are ALWAYS right wing and that makes you uncomfortable so you create an alternate history to try to associate it with leftist ideologies.

It is nonsense. The only commonality it that they both use populist appeals to working class folks.

However they diverge for the start. Fascism is always a right wing nationalist movement and socialism is a left wing CLASSIST movement.

They share nothing in common. Fascism is about national identity and the strength and power of a nation under a strict hierarchical and profoundly nationalistic state, socialism does the opposite; it is about united workers power INTERNATIONALLY based on class identity and challenge the institutional power of national governments.

The ONLY word that describes Mussolini’s ideology is “fascism”. It is literally the exact dictionary definition. Literally the Platonic ideal of what fascism is.

Fyrfighter

Literally

Poetrooper

Commissary, from Wikipedia, hardly a hotbed of conservative thought:

“Mainstream socialists have typically rejected and opposed fascism in turn. However, fascism and communism have common positions in their opposition to liberalism, capitalism, individualism and parliamentarism. Fascists and communists also agree on the need for violent revolution to forge a new era. While fascism is opposed to Bolshevism, both Bolshevism and fascism promote the one-party state and the use of political party militias.”

In Hitler’s and Mussolini’s fascism the focus of their socialism was national, thus the “Nazi” appellation. Their opposition to Marxism grew out of its internationalism. Regardless of what they shared and what their differences were and are, the one trait fascism and communism ALWAYS share is the need for a strongman-led dictatorial regime to impose and maintain either system. Oh, and one other thing they share:

Foreordained failure.

Ex-PH2

Poe, “comissary” is Commissar.

He just has no idea how ridiculous he is, and how much more ridiculous he makes himself on a regular basis.

Poetrooper

I know, Ex–I was just funning him a bit with the “Commissary” since he can’t even seem to spell his own username correctly.

Hondo

Actually, PT, it appears that in the original Russian, the word IS “Commissary” (комиссáр). “Commissar” is the usual English translation.

Mason

Ha, I didn’t even catch the y at the end of the name. I was reading it as Commissar. So he’s now up to what, like 5 different screen names?

GDContractor

Goebels would be proud.

Hondo

No, Goebels would have had him shot. Goebels and his kind had no use for either Communists or their supporters.

Stalin, on the other hand, would have regarded him as a “useful fool” (AKA “useful idiot”). Stalin wouldn’t have had him shot until much later – after his usefulness had ended.

With Trump as POTUS, he is free to spout whatever ridiculous idiocy he likes. The only sanction he’ll get is being riduculed by those who recognize him as a fool.

The Other Whitey

Don’t forget their other shared trait: industrial-scale mass-murder.

11B-Mailclerk

Everything within the State. Nothing outside the State. Nothing against the State.

-Mussolini

Socialism is State control of the means of production.

-Marx paraphrased.

Facisim is Socialist, and thus left wing.

Note that the National Socialists largely copied the Italian template.

Once again, you are wrong, and glaringly. Again. And easily refuted. Again.

Beclowned again, you are.

David

I firmly believe that the constant and relentless 24/7 news cycle fuels this sort of thing.

Roh-Dog

First things first, f***********ck that guy.
I’ve been listening to a couple break downs of this guy’s actions and screed, it seems he’s crazy or looking to start a Manson-style ‘race war’, probably a little of both tho.
Hopefully the only thing this changes is the amount and civility of discourse.
What can I say, I’m a dreamer.

HT3 '83-'87

The echo of the last gunshot had not yet faded away before the jackals starting trying to capitalize politically which always when every a senseless tragedy likes this happens.

There is a world-wide mental health crisis happening. I’m sure when the dust settles there will be signs that this guy needed help.

I don’t want to go all ‘Minority Report’, but somehow these people have to stopped before they strike for the sake of all man kind.

Ex-PH2

Why is there always a manifesto?

Hondo

Perhaps someone should remind Occluded-Cortex that New Zealand is not one of the “57 US states” her community organizer role model once spoke about . . . .

Commissar

Did you bother to read what she said?

Mason

I assume he did. Being that New Zealand is literally half a world away, the 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 Rifle Association has zero, zip, zilch to do with this deranged lunatic’s attack.

This terrorist purposely wanted to use his attack to sow division and press the US into passing more restrictive gun laws. Of course the Democrats are all too happy to give the nutjob what he wants.

LC

Except that by that token, couldn’t one equally write, “Being that New Zealand is literally half a world away, America has zero, zip, zilch to do with this deranged lunatic’s attack.”

But then in his manifesto, he talks about wanting to start a second civil war… in America.

One could also write, “Being that New Zealand is literally half a world away, the American President has zero, zip, zilch to do with this deranged lunatic’s attack.”

But then in his manifesto, he praises the President as a ‘symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose’.

Note that I’m not making the argument that there’s merit to the idea the NRA or the President deserves blame, as I think there are plenty of other factors higher on the list… but to dismiss it simply because the NRA is half a world away, in an instantly-connected world, is in error.

Mason

All of the people killed this weekend in traffic accidents caused by drunk drivers are directly the fault of Ireland and their St. Patrick.

LC

That’s why I said I wasn’t arguing responsibility. It’s the difference between saying the Irish are responsible for all the drunk driving accidents this weekend, and saying St. Patrick’s day does have an effect on drunk driving accidents.

Something can have an effect without requiring blame.

11B-Mailclerk

Something can have an effect without being a cause?

Really?

LC

I said:

“Something can have an effect without requiring blame

You said:

“Something can have an effect without requiring a cause?”

Do you see the problem here?

St. Patrick’s day is a cause of higher numbers of people drinking, but we don’t blame the holiday itself when people make a poor choice to drive while impaired. The blame rests elsewhere, even if there’s some causal relationship between the numbers.

Or more to this site’s theme, when someone gets shot and killed by a murdered holding a big scary (and inevitably black) gun, the causes of death include the internal damage to the body, by way of the bullet, fired by the gun, held by the shooter. But even though all of those things are causes, the blame itself rests with the person responsible for the shooting.

So yes, really.

11B-Mailclerk

When we assign blame, we are stating the cause.

LC

Yes, but just like ‘all squares are rectangles’ is true but ‘all rectangles are squares’ is not, ‘when we assign blame we state the cause’ ‘when we state a cause we assign blame’ is not.

Unless you’re taking the very unpopular stance that it scary black guns -and not, say, people who misuse them- are to blame for the murder of people? And thus hey, why not sure manufacturers of guns, since surely they’re to blame too?

I can list a lot of factors that contributed to this asshole’s actions, from the internet websites that allowed him to find like-minded idiots to the President’s rhetoric to the idiocy of some of the far-left groups that preach ‘diversity’ with implicit antagonism towards white men to, hey, the gun manufacturer, because why not… but only the key factors get assigned any real blame – in this case, his own self, and possibly conspirators / resources that offered support and didn’t stop to think and alert anyone.

LC

I missed an ‘is true’ in there at the beginning. I’m sure you can figure out where it belongs.

whizzbang

“But then in his manifesto, he praises the President as a ‘symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose’.”

You are a shit stain upon humanity.

You, like all democrats, take a single quote from this other shit stain’s manifesto and declare it to be fact.

Fuck you, fuck your ancestors and God forbid, fuck your offspring.

You are arguing a point which has not been made.

You are therefore not only a shit stain, but a stupid shit stain.

Oh yeah and choose a fucking name and stick by it, you twat waffle.

LC

First, I’m not a democrat. Nor am I Lars, so I haven’t changed names. Nor was I arguing the President was responsible, which I find to be a significant stretch.

I was simply stating that any notion that the President or NRA can’t have any responsibility simply because New Zealand is half a world away is ludicrous, given how connected the world is. That’s as stupid as saying a homegrown Muslim fanatic can’t be inspired by al-Zawahiri because he’s half a world away. And no, this is not meant to draw a comparison between al-Zawahiri and the President either – just showing that influence, be it American principles (like the 2A) or leaders or terrorist ones, is global.

That shouldn’t even be up for discussion.

Mason

That was totally uncalled for whizzbang. LC has been a respected, if disagreed with, member of this community for years. He’s always respectful of others’ opinions. He deserves our respect in return.

The Other Whitey

I believe Whizzbang was mistaking LC for Commissar AKA Commissar, Poodledick, Comrade Dickless, and The Illiterate UC Berkeley Shill. If so, he is unfortunately not the first. And I fully agree that LC does not deserve to be lumped in with that dickhead.

whizzbang

LC I apologize for mistaking you for he who shall not be named.

Thank you Mason, and TOW, for calling me on that.

LC

Not necessary, but thanks. I’ve been called far worse and haven’t needed a ‘safe space’ yet.

Hondo

I’m pretty sure NRA doesn’t do any lobbying in New Zealand regarding New Zealand’s gun laws. So no, LC: there’s zero merit in AOC blaming the NRA for this incident. That’s logically foolish.

Or, in other words: it’s more of the same half-baked idiotic crap we’ve come to expect from AOC.

The Other Whitey

I did, Lars. She sounded dumber than usual. Even dumber than you, in fact, which is quite a feat.

Hondo

Did I read was quoted from AOC in the linked article from TheHill about which I commented? Yes. Did I read other idiocy she might have spouted elsewhere over and above that? No, I didn’t bother to even look for it.

I don’t waste my time seeking out AOC’s foolsih verbal diarrhea, Poodle. That would be seeking out tales “told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” I don’t have either the need or time to do that.

Besides, I don’t need to. You provide enough examples of that genre in your comments here to keep me quite well entertained.

Now, be a good lad and sod off.

Sparks

Wait, what???

A Proud Infidel®™️

AOC is stupid enough to flunk a blood test. Doesn’t she already realize that New Zealand already has strict Gun Laws?

Ex-PH2

She doesn’t know where New Zealand is or what it is.

A Proud Infidel®™️

She’d likely ask “Why do we need a New Zealand, was something wrong with the old one?”.

Ex-PH2

I love these public faux pas she makes on a regular basis.

Is anyone keeping score? We should. I mean, she’s already pissed off the labor unions, among other things.

A Proud Infidel®™

By the time her political career gets quashed by the DC Lifers, I have a hunch that AOC will make “Groping Joe” Biden look like a Harvard Phi Beta Kappa!

AW1Ed

That’ll take a while, Proud. But then, she’s young and has plenty of time to play catch-up with The Groper.

“Climate alarmist”, not that we can say via his writing.

11B-Mailclerk

Crazy ecofreek nationalist, per his own ranting.

JTB

They didn’t waste any time blaming Trump…

USMCMSgt (Ret)

Yeah. They had a spokesman from CAIR on CNN who went on about how the shooter was influenced by Trump’s “divisiveness” and “hate speech”, and how his “dictatorship” is ruining the country.

Regardless where the shooting took place, I think it’s goulish, moronic and incomprehensible to compare this country and it’s president to most of the Middle Eastern countries where this sort of thing is commonplace.

Those countries aren’t very inclusive when it comes to Christians and Jews, and not a peep from the media when non-Muslims get butchered by the handfuls.

It all saddens and angers me, especially how the media frames a tragedy to meet a political narrative.

Mason

I think it’s disgusting when our media here does it about a tragedy here. To co-opt a national tragedy from a beautiful country like NZ to further your political goals here is so reprehensible is makes me literally nauseous.

Can you imagine the outrage if anyone even remotely suggested that Muslims here were anything like the ones slaughtering Christians in the Middle East?

Ex-PH2

“…how his “dictatorship” is ruining the country.”

How is it ruining the country? How? I don’t see anything supporting that. Is this asshole complaining because he expects to have everyone kowtow to him and it isn’t happening? Tough bananas. You have to earn that kowtowing, and that whiny dorkwad at CAIR hasn’t done so.

Damn, I am so tired of these spoiled brats!!!!

Contractor1803

I think this whole thing is fake news. Everyone knows that New Zealand has very restrictive gun laws, so stuff like this couldn’t happen.

Hate_me

At first blush, this doesn’t pass the sniff test.

I’m not denying the attack happened, and I’m not saying it is anything but heinous, but white supremacists do not visit North Korea and Pakistan to become radicalized as white supremacists. A white dude who drank the local grape kool-aid, brainwashed into thinking a false-flag white supremacist story is the way to bring about utopia… that, I get.

It’s how I would play it, were I a professional bad guy.

11B-Mailclerk

Or, he was batshit crazy.

I knew it wouldn’t be 24 hours before some vile D-rat blamed Trump. Our own favorite lying “Little Dick” Blumenthal of Toys for Tots Viet of the Nam service is saying the attack was caused by Trump’s “racism.”

Ret_25X

My questions:

1. How did an eco-nut, commie suddenly become the face of “America in 2019”

2. If we can’t judge Islam by the deeds of Islamic terrorists, why would we judge Americans by the deeds of a guy from Australia who shot up a Mosque in New Zealand?

3. How did he get the firearms and ammo? Seems that he must have been violating some laws there….

4. Since his ideology seems to fit nicely with Prez Teleprompter’s, why isn’t this an example of his beliefs?

Don’t worry, I know the answers. It is only a matter of time before even asking such questions makes one a “conspiracy spreader” and get them banned by Chase Bank.

WTF are you talking about?

OldManchu

Now you know how most people feel when they read your dribble.

Thanks for calling it what it is “White supremacy” and “fascism”.

This was right wing terrorism which indepsutably is on the rise. Along with left wing terrorism, and also religious extremism.

Call this what this is an call the perpetrators what they are; terrorists.

Hahahahaha hahahaha!
Oh, wait, you’re serious.
Bush hahahaha haha!
Look dingbat, *if* you listen to this guy’s words they align mostly with far left ideologies and I’m doubting he is a white/Christian supremacist.

He only read “white supremacist” and “Trump”. The rest was irrelevant to the Commissary.

Roh-Dog

The prick wanted division and chaos, suspension of logic and civil discourse.
He’s getting it in spades.
My only question, will we realize it’s easier to argue for or against ideology than nihilism.
It seems that’s where we’re heading, fast.

Commissar you are very wrong.

To quote the shooter:

“Were/are you “right wing”?
Depending on the definition, sure.

Were/are you “left wing”?
Depending on the definition, sure.”

But the real telling point is:

“Were/are you a fascist?
Yes. For once, the person that will be called a fascist, is an actual fascist. I am sure the journalists will love that.

I mostly agree with Sir Oswald Mosley’s views and consider myself an Eco-fascist by nature.

The nation with the closest political and social values to my own is the People’s Republic of China.”

So What about China is right wing?

Dragoon Marksman

Not exactly a “White Supremacist” which is an overused generalization that is used by the Left and MSM to fuel racism between, well, Whites and others. This guy is a self-professed “Eco-Fascist” and a “Libertarian” with the latter being a stretch. He is White and obviously a full-blown sociopath with no regard for the life of others. He is the guy we should reserve the death penalty for and let’s not be concerned with what is cruel and unusual punishment.
