Agents with concealed carry permits restrain armed intruder
Phil Morrical III and Kyle Morrical are 2 of many real estate agents who feel safer having a gun on the job

By: Veronika Bondarenko
After getting caught up in an armed standoff with an intruder in a vacant property, a father-son real estate duo has reignited a longstanding conversation about agents and guns.

Phil Morrical III, 62, and his son Kyle Morrical of Morrical Realty were managing a rental property in Hamilton, Ohio, that had stood vacant for several months. After learning of a break-in, they went in and found various drug paraphernelia, knives and abandoned propane tanks inside the house. They came back to clean up and secure the property but, upon opening the garage door, found a man, whom the police later identified as Derek Miller, inside.

“We told him we were going to call the police and he got so agitated that he pointed toward his pants and indicated that he had a knife and a gun,” Morrical III, who is an army veteran and a former fire inspector, told Inman. “He implied that if we didn’t give him what he wanted he was going to use it on us.”

Jury convicts man shot by CCW permit holder he tried to rob at Milwaukee gas station

by Katie DeLong
MILWAUKEE — A man facing a charge of robbery with use of force after prosecutors said he was shot and wounded by a concealed carry permit holder he allegedly tried to rob was convicted on Tuesday, March 12.

A jury convicted Alasan Dawan on one count of robbery with use of force on the second day of his jury trial, which began on March 11. Dawan will be sentenced on March 25.

The incident happened at the Citgo gas station near 35th and Silver Spring on July 26, 2018.

According to a criminal complaint, police spoke with a man, Thomas Chojnacki, who indicated he had just left the Citgo gas station on his bicycle when he was attacked from behind by Dawan, who grabbed his holstered .40 caliber Glock pistol, knocked Chojnacki off his bike and proceeded to punch him repeatedly on his face and head.

Man Stabbed During Fight In Battle Creek As Neighbor Fires ‘Warning Shot’

By: Nico Berrios
Battle Creek police are attempting to find a man who allegedly stabbed someone during an argument.

The Battle Creek Police Department says that around 4:35pm Wednesday, the 34-year-old victim had been approached by an unknown man in the first block of Kellogg St. in the Urbandale area. The suspect allegedly initiated a fight, and while both men were on the ground the victim was stabbed once in the stomach. As all of this was happening, a neighbor came outside and saw the fight, and fired a handgun into the ground.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the suspect ran off.

At least they got ‘victim and ‘suspect’ right for once. So, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, today’s tally stands at 0 / 2 / 1 with zero morts, two on the end of a saline drip or beind bars, and one unfortunately in the wind. As for the well meaning but less than helpful neighbor, a warning shot? *sigh* At least he has this going for him:

“An investigation into a possible charge of reckless discharge of a firearm is being carried out as well.”

OK, I get it. Hondo is senior to me by a long way, and if he wants ugly gun prOn, he gets ugly gun prOn with a hearty Aye Aye, Sir!

“fired a handgun into the ground”

That’s not how you do the warning shot thing.
Fire at a 45 degree angle so the round travels maximum distance and kills someone far away instead of local.
Then lose the gun.

Outcast

Warning Shot: projectile fired by a powder charged weapon at any angle that is required as to hit center mass of perpetrator causing instant cessation of movement or motion contained within the corpse of said perpetrator. (DRT)

Well, AW1Ed, you’re getting closer. Glocks are generally not considered pretty – but IMO, they’re also not really butt-ugly enough to be considered “gun pr0n”.

Keep trying, amigo. (smile)

26Limabeans

Yeah, I’m wondering why the perp grabbed a holstered Glock. The bicycle was worth far more.

snort, guffaw, hahahahaha, bwwwaaaaaaa gasp hahahahahahsneerrrtgiggleteehee

That’s funny as hell right the ‘beans, I don’t care who you are! (HT to LTCG)

My guess would be because if he didn’t grab his intended victim’s sidearm he risked getting a high-speed body piercing via high-speed heavy metal.

Seriously: while Glocks will likely never win too many beauty contests, all accounts say they reliably send bullets out their business end when intended. And they’re also reputedly generally as accurate – or as inaccurate – as the person using them. Don’t own one, so I can’t say from personal experience whether those too “truisms” about Glocks are actually true or not.

Except for the trigger guard, the one in the 2nd pic AW1Ed posted doesn’t look all that bad. The trigger guard, on the other hand, is kinda ugly. And IMO they could have done a much better job with the bottom of the magazine, too.

What is that gun pr0n in the top picture? Looks like a .22?

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

Looks similar to my original Hi-Standard Victor .22 which was made in Conn. Didn’t see a barrel take down button in front of the trigger guard and not the same rear sights as the Victor.

David

Slab side Buck mark. A pain to disassemble but a sweeter .22 is hard to find. Way nicer than its round barrel counterparts. If only Browning would sort out their assembly/disassembly like Ruger did, this would be as great as the best Ruger.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

When I was a member of the Brink’s shooting team, we shot Police EL and combat matches. One of the members had a Ruger .22 and said it was a bitch to field strip it after we took part in the .22 matches. I had my simple Hi-Standard .22 Victor model. Did a lot of matches back in the 1970’s.

S&W Model 41, especially an old one, is the Bees Knees.

Pop gave me his, as my first gun.

Now what, a contest between butt ugly, somewhat ugly or downright fantastic gun’s, down here in the far reaches of cellardom and on a cheap beer and month old pretzel diet they are all expensive to me. Simple bullet goes in here, cock weapon this way, pull trigger, projectile goes out end of machined pipe, casing is removed, repeat. Box of ammo $1.75, will you take payments, thank you. 0/2/1 low pay out, hardly enough to buy !/4 pint of clear skull knocker from Elmer that he chemically makes in the third stall in his old barn behind the hill in the woods. I’d say roll it over til Monday, AW is bound to better him self in the odds bracket. I’ll take a double Ham and cheese with extra Mayo on whole wheat via the express tube down to these far depths.

I like it.

^word^ Well done!

Running behind boys and girls, couldn’t get started FIRST thing this A.M. Meds adjustment. Plus we’re having all 4 seasons within a 24 hour period. And the pollen is releasing from them thar Georgia Pines. The little bit of frost we had this morning had a green tinge. Hope all the DWs in the mid west are staying toasty warm and dry. South Dakota is still closed till further notice, and some of the kin folk in Nebraska are living on islands right now.

It is good that we have another rendition of the Browning works to offset the abomination pictured later. Get thee behind me Satan; or as we are prone to say….Glock be Gone.

To the FGSs: Pointing, indicating a knife? Yeah dumbazz, smooth move exlax. Potential “victim” pulls out his “rod.” And it’s not made of flesh and blood vessels. Turn in yo choir robe and books. You’ll be singing in the showers with Bubba & ’em.

Milwaukee; Whiz Wheel count on Alasan Darwan? You out of the choir too and turn in yo school books. Mr. Tiny is gonna show you how an attack from/to behind works.

Battle Creek; I know the “laws” are different in other areas, but the only warning you may get from me is is the noise of a safety release, slide/hammer cocking or a center mass penetration of some caliber. Better judged by 12 than toted by 6.

Outcast, call the clubhouse and tell to make a delivery of rations and some “stout” beverages. Too nasty to get out and we’re rolling over today’s winnings. Jeff and Miss Thang have disappeared again, the Brinks Truck is a rocking, so draw your own conclusion.

You other DWs, meet me at the dining hall for afternoon libations. We’ll do the early bird prime rib Blue Plate Special. My treat. Good way to celebrate my two FIRSTs in the MOT and the WOT.

Claw

As per request, the Whiz Wheel count on Alasan Dawan is (WRT) 15×2=30.

I guess we were an island here as all directions around had to dig out but here the alien’s shut everything down and the day after the “Blizzard” most of the streets were dry and most sidewalks were clear with no shoveling. Still some spots of snow where sun does not get to. Still some area’s without power and some vehicles in ditches, lost power in one area of town but back on. Call made and standing by.
