Georgia bill would require men to report every release of sperm
HB 604 would amend Chapter 1 of Title 35 of the Official Code of Georgia so that “any male 55 years of age or older shall immediately report to the county sheriff or local law enforcement agency when such male releases sperm from his testicles.”
I know one of our TAH members that needs to be reported on a regular basis.
The bill was sponsored by five female Democratic representatives, including Rep. Dar’Shun Kendrick (D-Lithonia).
Kendrick made waves online after she tweeted she intended to introduce a “testicular bill of rights” that would seek to regulate male sex organs. It was in response to the House’s passage of HB 481, dubbed the “heartbeat abortion bill,” that would ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected – usually at around 6 weeks.
Kendrick told Rolling Stone she’s aware that her measure has little chance of passing (it’s already past the deadline for submitting new legislation), but she said it is meant to call attention to the “absurd” double standard women are being held to.
There we have it, these ladies are seeking attention in an “absurd” way. Its all about drawing attention.
They believe that a man having a nocturnal emission is the same thing as a woman getting an abortion in her last month of pregnancy. I think a woman getting an abortion is none of my business…so long as she does it early and I don’t have to pay for it. This is the kind of nonsense that makes those of us that moderately support it back away.
What I find alarming is that 5 women think this was a good idea.

The future of abortion rights nationally are going to be decided by SCOTUS based on legal challenges to legislation coming out of states like Georgia.

The notion that women are carrying a baby to near full term and then aborting that baby because they decided they didn’t want a child is a complete fabrication. Instead of the stupid commentary about women suddenly deciding at 9 months to start slaughtering babies the reality of why those few mothers and fathers come to that decision in the third trimester would make for better understanding. Agreed. The problem is that states are changing laws to make it allowable. And if it’s allowed, it will happen with increasing frequency.

All any new laws have done is make what was already allowable due to medical necessity easier for doctors to get medical authorization to do.
I’m not certain that’s accurate, it might happen for sure. The quantity I suspect would still remain low, largely because most women who don’t want to be pregnant aren’t going to endure pregnancy for a minute longer than they have to.
The third trimester issues were changed under the law to address specific viability and harm to mothers issues in the New York law. The New York law criminalized all abortion decisions after 24 weeks unless it was “justifiable” but that wasn’t defined properly.
The new law removes the criminal aspect and defines after 24 weeks to preserve the health of the mother or if the baby is determined to be non-viable. The determination of non-viability has to be made a health professional acting within the legal scope of their medical practice.
The misinformation about the New York law does little to help the situation.
There were women in New York who had a non-viable fetus previously but were denied an abortion because the law made it a felony unless the mother’s life was at risk.
There was a fairly well known case as a result where a woman could choose to carry her dead baby for two more months to term, or travel elsewhere to be treated.
These are complex, uncomfortable issues not well suited to memes of dishonesty and deception.

Also, my wife worked for Child Support services her entire career and establishing paternity has long been the rule of the system. Sometimes, the young baby momma might rattle off a legal page list of possible names, all are still legally required to submit to DNA testing.
These things vary widely by state. Often times it is in the best interest of the male to take the test anyway, especially if there were multiple partners. It can rule him out right away. Best not to be the one left holding the bag.
