Nancy Pelosi just admitted that Democrats have nothing on Trump

| March 12, 2019

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Monday that she’s against impeaching President Trump “unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan.” Which is exactly the point — there isn’t.

The speaker is surely up to speed on what evidence Democrats actually have against Trump and has a fair sense of what Special Counsel Bob Mueller’s report will say. And she recognizes that it’s nothing that will persuade anyone who hasn’t wanted Trump ousted since Election Day 2016.

Which means that moving to impeach him would be not just “divisive to the country,” as she says, but also bad for Democrats — since it would show them as unable to resist the most demented demands of their base.

I would not call it “the most demented demands of their base.”  I do not think the “base” of Democrats are Fascists.

This, when last week’s pathetic failure to confront Rep. Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitism already exposed them as in thrall to extremists.

The Democrats are victims of their own tolerance of the intolerable.  Not everyone should get a seat at the table.  Shame on the people in Minnesota’s 5th congressional district.  It seems virtue signaling is more important than substance in Minnesota.  There is still a fart in the wind from little Jimmy Janos left to us by Minnesota.  Now they give us this woman that is infected by a Virus of the Mind.

Impeachment should be on the table, they just lack the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing to the people who need it.  Omar and the bimbette Ocasio-Cortez dominate the news.  They are a fine example of what all-inclusive policy produces.  Dangerous and Dumb is no way to run a country.

Pelosi is trying to herd cats, good luck with that.

I think Pelosi probably could herd cats. She has suddenly developed enough awareness to get out of AOC’s way and let that person rattle on.

Something is slowly growing and festering under the thin skin of the Democrats.

We must be patient and watchful.

Get out of the way? yes, but I bet if you trace back for the source of the FEC complaint against her you’ll find San Fran Nan’s fingerprints all over it! As her own daughter said, she could slit your throat, and smile while doing it…

There isn’t any chance of a successful impeachment if the Republican Senate wouldn’t go along with it, right? And the latest poll from The Economist showed that even if President Trump accepted help from Russian during the campaign, the majority of Republicans (64%) wouldn’t want him impeached. Same for if he committed obstruction of justice.

I think any impeachment discussions are premature until the Mueller report is out, but the political reality is that it wouldn’t pass right now anyway. This is as shocking as Pelosi saying she doesn’t think she’ll try to pass a single-payer healthcare reform with a Republican Senate and President.

But he didn’t, so there goes the false narratives the questions were based upon.

Polls do not demonstrate evidence of people’s policy beliefs or even their approval of any given candidate. Polls demonstrate people’s reaction to specifically and carefully worded propaganda statements.

Most moderates, libertarians, and conservatives figured this out years ago and now skew polling by giving the answers the polling expects thus giving the far left their confirmation bias.

This is done because those groups (correctly) believe they are being misrepresented by the NYC/LA media outlets of the legacy media.

So, let’s put the statistical studies of propaganda reactions away and talk turkey.

Fact: no collusion.
Fact: no obstruction.

If no collusion or obstruction, then no impeachment.

See how easy the logic really is?

The democrats have no one to blame but themselves for where they are on this, and pretending the problem is eeeeeeeeeeevil republican voters is a guarantee of 4 more years of Trump.

LC

Fact: no collusion.
Fact: no obstruction.

You might be right, but unlike you, I’m not from the future and don’t quite know what the investigation concluded.

The Other Whitey

LC, do you really think that something like that would still be a secret by now? Half of the Rs and all of the Ds hate Trump’s guts. If there was something to find, it would be out there by now. Too many people have a vested interest in taking him down for a pro-Trump coverup to have a snowball’s chance in hell.

Trump, as arrogant as he is, certainly knows this. That means he is likely to be the most squeaky-clean president in living memory, because he knows he won’t get away with shit.

LC

LC, do you really think that something like that would still be a secret by now?

Yes. This isn’t a political investigation, with Congress critters (and their many, many staff members) scurrying around trying to win political points or build themselves up as movers and shakers, it’s a very restricted law enforcement investigation. And it’s not some low-level staffers doing the grunt work, it’s high-level, widely respected sorts.

By way of a military comparison, this is like how if you hang around Fayetteville long enough, you’ll hear about non-public deployment plans easily enough. But you won’t hear a veteran Delta guy blabbing about an upcoming TS/SCI operation. One is a much higher level of professionalism and duty than the other.

And the ‘squeaky clean’ guy already lied about paying off porn stars for sex. And forced the IC to give clearances to his son-in-law and daughter, against recommendations even from CIA and Kelly. And is implicated in financial fraud for reporting different values of properties for loans vs. taxes. And I could go on and on. Can you tell me that if Hillary Clinton had won the Presidency, gave her daughter a non-descript position on her staff, and overruled the intelligence community to demand she get a top-level clearance despite foreign countries saying they could influence her, … you’d say ‘no big deal!’? I highly doubt that. He’s far from squeaky clean, the question is, did he do anything illegal enough to warrant impeachment? And that, I don’t know.

Perry Gaskill

LC, here are some of my own problems with your assessment:

Most of the Russian collusion part of the investigations was kicked off by the so-called Steele Dossier which was a hired hit piece by the DNC via Fusion GPS. Dig deep enough and you tend to find some real veracity issues.

It’s been demonstrated repeatedly that upper levels of law enforcement, particularly the DOJ and FBI, have not been entirely objective about things Trump. There’s been, among other things, a clear Hillary Clinton bias.

The security clearance issues for the Trump offspring seem to be more-or-less a tempest in a teapot. Classified material is usually distributed on a need-to-know basis. We don’t know the degree of need for the Trump kids because we don’t even know the kind of material involved. It’s doubtful if it was a matter of sharing nuclear launch codes.

The alleged financial fraud you’re referring to, at least from what I’ve seen, mostly relates to Michael Cohen who is pretty much the prototype for being able to tell if a lawyer is a liar because his lips are moving. As a matter of how the business world works, for example, it doesn’t really matter that much if Trump bumped the amount he told a bank his property was worth, because bank’s do their own appraisals, inventory, and so forth as part of due diligence. They loan based on what they think something is worth and not what you think it’s worth.

USMCMSgt (Ret)

I agree with TOW. If there was information that was actionable it would be out by now. We all know things like this can’t be kept. Some fuckhead would have leaked it and everyone would be spun up over it.

(Meanwhile, back at the ranch, there are is a story of a guy who is terminally ill and regrets he probably won’t be alive to hear the findings of the Mueller report)

Blaster

I would have never thought that the day would come where I felt like Pelosi was the sensible voice for the left.

That’s Way more F’d up than I’m comfortable with.

MSG Eric

If Mueller had anything on Trump, even one piece of evidence, it would’ve been “leaked” a long long time ago.

No one can find anything, hence “aw, he’s just not worth it.”

That bitch is pure evil for this country. Always has been, always will be. The evil is deep rooted in her DNA and her family. When will this farce of investigations against dTrump end? Prolly after the end of his 2nd term. Let’s investigate the congress critters that have gotten filthy rich during their terms of office. Let’s investigate the Bitch of Benghazi, the entire Obama Admin, The Clinton Crime Syndicate, the RINOs that have done their best to go along with the demon craps since like, forever.

We did not elect Trump for his high moral standards re his marriages, his Sunday School language skills, or because he was a billionaire turned politician. We elected him to drain the swamp, build us a wall, and put America back on a track to take care of WORKING Americans.

Why not investigate politicians who became millionaires while in office.

Blaster

👍🏻👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Poetrooper

Bumper sticker: I trust a billionaire who becomes a politician more than politicians who become billionaires.

Mason

Yup. Which really makes all this emoluments clause bitching and griping from them all the more hard to stomach. They made it legal for themselves to commit insider trading FFS. Pelosi herself has been caught doing this.

SFC D

“We elected him to drain the swamp, build us a wall, and put America back on a track to take care of WORKING Americans.”

That’s the money shot, right there. We hired him to get shit done, not to be loved. There are a lot of days I do not like Trump, but I can’t argue with his results.

The Other Whitey

Seriously, if there was dirt on Trump, Mueller would’ve found it by now, and the dems would’ve plastered it on billboards. This is why they go on and on about his womanizing, which is still a big step down from Bill Clinton’s serial rapist proclivities. And to their eternal frustration, the response is “Why do you think people are going to be shocked about Donald Trump acting like Donald Trump? Or, for that matter, like quite a few professional incumbents in both major parties?”

I didn’t vote for Trump because I thought he was an ideal candidate for the Papacy (though at this point I’m sure he’d be a damn sight better of a Pope than Bergoglio), I held my nose and checked his box because he would be less of a disaster than Hillary Clinton. Since then, he has pleasantly surprised me with much (not all) of his performance in office, enough that I currently plan on voting for him in 2020 on his own merit.

At this point, the whole investigation/impeachment thing is much ado about an obvious nothing, and as a taxpayer I’m sick of paying for it.

rgr1480

I agree with your comment about the Papacy. I miss Papa Benedict!

The Other Whitey

Der Panzerpope? Yeah, me too. Padre Che from Argentina has been a disappointment from the getgo. I look forward to the day when he’s gone and the Church gets back on track.

two years of digging and they STILL don’t have any real dirt on President Trump. What will they try next?

Perry Gaskill

Here’s the full Pelosi quote from the Washington Post interview:

“I’m not for impeachment,” Pelosi told The Washington Post in an interview published Monday. “Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.”

My own view is that Pelosi is trying to virtue signal by being disingenuous. She’s wants to present herself as a calm voice of reason, but has actually been among the loudest of the howling mob willing to go to any length to trash the Trump presidency. According to some pundits, what the democrats are also trying to avoid is a situation similar to what happened with the impeachment of Bill Clinton. When that effort failed, it almost guaranteed Bill Clinton’s second term.

It might also be pointed out that additional House investigations by Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff are likely to continue no matter what Mueller says in his report. Both Nadler and Schiff are rabidly partisan and want to take things beyond Russian collusion into intrusive areas of Trump’s life that will apparently go back as far as it takes until they find something. A fair question to ask at this point is whether or not Nadler and Schiff– or Pelosi for that matter– could stand up to the same scrutiny.

Mason

Minor point of contention, Perry. Clinton was impeached halfway through his second term.

Perry Gaskill

Good point, Mason. Again, I was quoting wonky punditry. What they might have been talking about was the special counsel investigations by Ken Starr which dated back to 1994. These included among other things Whitewater, and a sexual harassment case filed by Paula Jones which would go on to include Monica Lewinsky. Because of the heated partisan divide involved, Bill Clinton was sometimes spun in the news media as the victim, and it was enough to change voter patterns in the 1996 election, according to some.

Mason

Gotcha. I’d agree with that. At this point it’s really hard to keep all those Clinton scandals straight anyway. 🙂

So now that the Russian collusion deal is just about null and void, the demo Rats want to go after Pres. Trumps friends and family. Give me a name and I will find a crime is their motto. I heard the talk on WFTL 850 AM that pelousy thinks that impeaching the POTUS is a bad move.

SFC D

Nancy is no longer driving the train, they won’t even let her ring the bell. The extreme leftie/socialists they tolerated in the name of “inclusivity” have absconded with the power of her gavel. She’s in damage-control mode.

The Other Whitey

She’s basically Queen Cersei, with Ojos-Locos et al as the Sparrows. When do you think she’ll nuke the sept?

Commissar

She did not say they had nothing on Trump. She said they do not have evidence that would lead to bipartisan support for impeachment. She also has made it clear in past comments that she thinks Trump is good for democrat chances and turnout in 2020 so it is better to wait unless something big is revealed that would lead to bipartisan support.

She absolutely wants Democrats to run with Trump in office in 2020. She is hoping to gain control of as many state houses as possible prior to the 2020 census. Trump massively increases democrat turnout and holds a negative 7 point blank ticket deficit against any opponent in the 2020 presidential race.

She puts political power over country.

Just to be clear. Trump has been explicitly implicated in crimes and referred to as individual 1 in legal filings.

And this is in investigations where neither Trump or the Trump organization were the targets of the investigation.

He also has been proven to have lied publicly to the American people about these crimes.

However, none of the currently 17+ investigations that target Trump, the Trump organization, or the Trump family are over nor any of their findings public.

The Trump family has been involved with recent substantial criminal activity since at least 2012.

Additionally, documents proving Trump and his organization committed substantial crimes in the 1980s and 1990s has been released publicly but those crimes are beyond the statute of limitations.

For there to be bipartisan support it will take the public release of results proving he is committing crimes in office. Which he is. Even from day one with embezzlement and fraud involving the inauguration funds.

New York Attorney General Is Investigating Trump Projects

(Reuters) – The New York attorney general’s office is looking into ties between Deutsche Bank and Investors Bank and several Trump Organization projects, the New York Times reported late Monday.

The attorney general’s office issued subpoenas late Monday to the banks, which opens an additional line of inquiry into Deutsche Bank’s dealings with Trump, the newspaper reported, citing one unnamed source.

The Democratic-controlled Intelligence Committee and Financial Services Committee in Congress have been exploring the finances of the Republican president and his businesses including his ties to Deutsche, one of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Deutsche Bank has lent Trump Organization hundreds of millions of dollars for real estate ventures and is one of the few major lenders that has given large amounts of credit to Trump after a string of bankruptcies at his hotel and casino businesses during the 1990s.

The newspaper said the new civil investigation into Deutsche was prompted by congressional testimony last month of Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen.

Cohen testified that Trump inflated the stated worth of his assets in financial statements. The former attorney submitted copies of statements he said had been provided to Deutsche.

Investors Bank was subpoenaed for records relating to Trump Park Avenue, a project it had backed, the Times reported.

Neither the New York attorney general’s office nor Trump representatives were available for comment early Tuesday. Neither Deutsche Bank nor Investors Bank representatives could be immediately reached.
