Donald Trump’s SOTU: Shooting white-breasted ducks on a pond

Poetrooper’s back, with his impression of last night’s SOTU speech grudgingly allowed by Granny McBotox. I was unable to view it live due to other obligations, but it’s on my DVR for viewing tonight. Enough of my issues, here’s Poe:

Let me preface the following praise by saying I have a tough time listening to our president. His style of speech and mannerisms tend to drive me up the wall in spite of the fact I am in near total agreement with his political agenda and actions as president. Tonight, my wife had to call me away repeatedly from this computer to get me to come listen to the State of the Union speech. After the introduction of the WWII vets, I, reluctantly, and grumbling that I really didn’t want to do this, got up and went in to join Miz Poe in watching the speech.
All I can say is that I am ever so glad that I did. To my absolute amazement, Donald J. Trump gave one helluva State of the Union speech, punching my conservative buttons while putting the Democrats in checkmate by cleverly appropriating every one of their major issues as his own. It was amazing to watch those Democrats initially sitting on their impolite rear ends, refusing to applaud even major positive accomplishments for their constituencies, like historically low black and Hispanic unemployment. By the time his speech was completed, Trump had large numbers of those same Democrats standing and applauding – even when he pronounced firmly that this nation will never become a socialist country, earning standing applause from even Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, much to the chagrin of Bernie Sanders and Occasional Cortex.
Look, I understand that Trump was reading a speech written by a professional White House speech-writing team, and to give them credit, they handed the man a zeroed weapon. Donald Trump took that finely tuned instrument of political warfare and proceeded to shoot down all those white-breasted Democrat ducks with volley after volley that left the blasted birds in a state of shocked confusion, looking around at each other for guidance, trying to determine how to respond. They absolutely didn’t want to support anything this man said, but he repeatedly put them in the dilemma of determining what should be their proper response: sit on their fool butts like the childish churls they had intended to be and look truly silly to the watching country, or perhaps applaud, even stand, when their hated foe is making statesman-like pronouncements that obviously are going to resonate with the American public?
I was laughing at their too evident confusion and indecisiveness. Ol’ Poe had to be but one of tens of millions of Americans witnessing the same befuddled indirection of the extreme leftist partisans who presently constitute the Democratic Party.
I’ll wager a lot of you had a similar reaction

Well, that part of the speech… made me a bit watery…

Had never watched a full SOTU till last night, and only pieces and parts of priors. Watched NONE of OBLOWME or BJ Willy, evah… Enjoyed the show. I hope for their sakes the white shee err suit crowd had on iron step ins and steel toed pumps. The Donald was chewing ass and stepping on toes. I further hope that The Donald had on an asbestos tee shirt. Nannie Pigulosi’s eyes had to be burning thru his back. That Bitch! Her and Chuckie and the others trying to destroy our Republic are seeing that Trump is all about the best interests of the country. It has got to be eating them alive.
I even watched the other socialist waddle her way thru a most pitiful self centered look at me show put on since the guvanator’s race down here. Does anyone else keep some foam rubber bricks to thru at the TV set like I do? Her main quote that stuck with me sounded like “America, we are coming for you”. I may have heard that wrong.
The irony of their rebuttal from Stacey Abrams was rather delicious for me, a successful, wealthy president rebutted by a nearly bankrupt tax evader.
If ever one needed a poster child for the tax and spend (other people’s money) crowd Ms. Abrams certainly fits the bill.

One part of her speech was no less than PURE comedy when she screeched about some Truckers buying their own Rigs. BITCH PLEASE, there are many Truckers who are PROUD to be known as Owner Operators and the vast majority make a good honest living! OH, and her babbling about her Father having to hitchhike to and from work? Well if they had a car, then why didn’t they try to take him to or from work and WHY didn’t he even try to carpool with someone? as soon as I hear that all I could think was “BULLSHIT LEVEL DEFCON FIVE!!!”. IMHO she’s more full of shit than twelve million Christmas Geese!
She complained about owner-operators, something which has been around since before she was born?

The closing remarks part of the speech was really good. Especially with the camera panning the crowd instead of staying on him. That was a good bit of cinematography.

Their rebuttal seems to have been written before they got a copy of his speech and has little to do with rebutting any of it at all.

It was no doubt the best SOTU since 9-11, even I have to admit that even Bush hit that one out of the park. Of course that was a slow hanging curve ball and it really would have been hard to miss it.
Looking back, I just couldn’t imagine if we had 0goracle had been president…
He really did hit it out of the park and watching the various scowls and outright hostility from so many d-rats made it worth the price of admission !!!
That being said, I now return to only listening to Rush for my political news and turning the rest off…
