Army Officer Insults Air Force Officer-Gets Banned From Twitter-Guest Post by JAGC
Guest post by JAGC follows.
F&$cknuckles. That “word” is the source for the latest controversy in military-oriented social media circles. Apparently, a company commander at Fort Benning got into a Twitter tiff with an Air Force officer. One thing led to another and “f$&knuckles” happened. The Army captain ultimately got banned from Twitter. Online mourning ensued.
Now, I’m not a social media guy. But I recently completed two books and a literary agent advised me to start using Twitter. Soon, I was introduced to a world of anonymous military members–mostly staff officers–who apparently post on Twitter All. The. Time. It’s amazing anything gets done.
To be fair, their snark is well placed. It’s a good mix of male and female Soldiers with a wide array of experience and knowledge. There’s everything from military historians to PAOs. And of course the Fort Benning company commander of f$&knuckles fame. Their pointed (and numerous) observations of military life is mostly spot on. I’ve even learned some things about military history. They’re also kind of funny.
Which brings me back to CPT f$&knuckles. I believe the online argument started over another officer’s vaguely controversial critique of an unnamed NCO. Soon, the venerable Army WTF! Moments picked up on things. And since this is Twitter and the military, you know there’s a barracks lawyer somewhere in this story. Well, the barracks lawyer shows up and issues a strongly worded (and super wrong) assessment about a UCMJ violation. That only escalated the online tension, such as it was.
With digital blood pressure boiling, the Air Force guy ranted about something. The Army Captain retorted in kind. The Air Force guy got even angrier. So the Army Captain called the Air Force guy “f$&knuckles.” Air Force guy reported him to the Twitter police. Bam! Banned from Twitter. An anonymous LTC even broke the news.
Why should any of us care about this? We shouldn’t. It’s stupid.
But on Twitter, this is thing. The mildly-offended military Twitter masses argue that Twitter is being extremely hypocritical and wrong. Indeed, Nazis and all sorts of shady creatures’ inflammatory remarks are allowed to troll around on Twitter. There’s even apparently several guys with variations of the “f$&knuckle” moniker. Yet CPT f$&knuckles got banned. In that sense, their complaints have merit.
But in the grander scheme, CPT f$&knuckles will probably just do what others do and start a new account. But is there a military bias with the people running Twitter? After all, the Captain got suspended for calling a guy “f$&knuckles” while there are stories abound of others purportedly wanting to “kill the Jews” getting to keep their accounts. Or perhaps the real question is, why do people keep using Twitter? Like quicksand, it looks innocuous enough. But once you step right into it, you’re stuck. And it makes people really angry. Why keep going back?
Category: WTF?
You have to use that trash heap to sell books? Facebook is bad enough.
There are better ways to get your product in front of people.
I have both a nonfiction and a fictional suspense/thriller that I’m excited about. For nonfiction, my understanding is that big publishers expect authors to be active on social media. It’s a whole other world.
Face Book of the Damned.
Twitter needs the “Yellow Bird” treatment.
Agreed…not on there and not on facebook…freaking facebook banned me for not giving them my phone number…to hell with them!
WHAT A fuckknuckled SNOWFLAKE!
That’s it, Proud- you are banned!
*grin*
Nuttin’ but love, buddy.
Now if our CinC would just get a more mature filter between him and his damn cell phone…. say 8 years old or older. He does good, then ruins it with a petulant five-year-olds Tweet storm.
Don’t tweet or fake book; have lurked around on sister’s page. A lot of those folks need to get a life. She said that is typical of social media. No wonder the world is getting so f’d up.
Not sure if the POTUS is using his tweets to poke his enemies in the eye, or is just caught up in the movement.
My employer can, and will monitor social media and inflict punishment, up to and including dismissal for anything it thinks is a violation of the company Code of Ethics.
In this case, AF Snowflake needs to either grow some skin or just grow up.
There is an old Roman adage; “In Vino Veritas”. I think that applies to the internet too. The anonymity and depersonalized dialog seems, like alcohol, to loosen the tongue and destroy judgement. And every Walter Mitty can become the heroic figure they know they would be if only given the chance.
100%
Seeing as to I have never affiliated with twitter I do not know how they operate there but sure seems to be a sad system to get involved with or so it seems from all the headlines you see. As for F/B, things there are easy to get around by either blocking or just deleting the comments but then I have very limited friends allowed and any recommended ones are either deleted or in many cases they are blocked. Too many group sites there talk brotherhood but that supposed brotherhood left reality a long time ago.
Harsh language, from an Army officer named “Tom”…. resulting in a ban….
Nah..
“while there are stories abound of others purportedly wanting to “kill the Jews” getting to keep their accounts.”
That’s because it’s okay to be anti-Semite. You can also hate on White people, heterosexual people, etc. It’s only the poor victimized socio-economic classes that are protected, like democrats and millenials.
there is only one solution…massive waves of new twitter accounts named @fucknuckle****
That will need a modified NPC avatar as well, I think…LOL
Closest I get to social media is LinkedIn, and that rarely.
My solution is don’t be a Twitter twat. As for twitter twats who post “kill all the jews,” I thought that was an approved comment in the world of progtardism. Propagandists on CNN get away with expressing that sentiment on air. Don Lemon recently said as much when he expressed his view that Israel should be wiped out. Professional asshole Lamont Hill did likewise.
I’ve never had an interest in Twitter. One thing about it was the name, which always sounded like something a way femmed-out transvestite might come up with. Just too fucking adorable.
Another issue was the 140-character technical limit on the preciously titled “tweets.” Such a limit, at least it seems to me, means the system tends to limit things to ostensibly clever bon mot comments at the expense of anything longer and more thoughtful.
Yet another problem was the kind of people Twitter attracted; most seemed to be mainly pushing and shoving to get the most “followers.” Take a look at the current top-ten Twitter account list for evidence. I remember a few years ago when the dippy technology evangelist Robert Scoble was blogging on-and-on about how cool he was because of all the Twitter followers he had. A claim that took a hit a short time later when Scoble’s wife took a photo of him in the shower wearing Google glasses. If there’s a photo that goes with a dictionary definition of “fucknuckles,” it’s probably one of Scoble.

Fortunately CNN canned Hill. But yeah, the anti-Semitic crap that’s tolerated on Twitter is maddening. It’s a travesty that Louis Farrakhan still has an account.
Twitter is becoming notorious for its biased and inconsistent enforcement of vague rules. The bias is generally aimed against conservatives, but even some on the left have been running afoul of it for not being far enough leftist. For example, that hardcore 3rd-wave feminist chick up in Canada who (logically) pointed out that the transfluidqueernonbinary/whatever thing undermines pretty much every kind of feminism, and got banned for it.
Yet another reason why TAH is as social-media-y as I get.
I like to think of this as anti-social media.
Ol’ Poe is also permanently banned from Twitter. And Linked in. And Facebook. And no, it wasn’t my smart mouth that did it–it was my suspicion that all this social media frenzy has the potential for far more negative consequences than positive. So I self-banned right from the get go. Miz Poe cheerily informed me one day that she had opened a Facebook account in my name and was a bit confounded by my angry demand that she close it forthwith.
I do not like websites that want my location or insist that I accept their cookies. I especially do not like my damned cell phone asking me how I enjoyed my meal at a restaurant I just left when I never used that infernal instrument during the time I was there. They must be linked to my credit cards somehow and I for damned sure don’t like that.
There is far too much of this “connectedness” in contemporary society and with the exception of my participation here and American Thinker or the occasional comment elsewhere, I do my best to avoid it. The potential for abuse of power by these social media cartels is obvious as we’re already witnessing with the way they discriminate against conservatives.
Screw every damned one of them.
This^^^!
Poetrooper: I made an online purchase with a company I had never before patronized. When I got to the checkout part where I enter my method of payment, the thing actually listed my cc numbers and asked which I wanted to use. I had NEVER purchased from this company. Re being banned from whatever, I have twice been banned from FB. After being allowed to return I decided I didn’t need them to communicate with my friends. I had turned down dozens of friend request from assholes I knew and from those who were strangers to me. Why would I want to be ‘friends’ with someone unknown to me? So I self banned myself. I go there to read what others have to say and to follow certain military affiliated groups but have no interest in posting. Some are proud that they have XXX# of ‘friends’. Really? I’ve got about ten and that’s enough. A friend of mine was banned for three days recently b/c he posted statements that were of a conservative nature.
Not a fan of any of the social media sites – all it takes if for some snowflake to get all asshurt over a comment and some SJW “moderator” bans you for making the snowflake’s pussy hurt.
Zuck the cuck and Dorsey and their social media platforms can go to Hell.
Really?
Doesn’t the Chair Force have an Online Social Media Achievement medal?
The Moerk Cross?
Ah, yes, I recall her. Isn’t she the E-8 who tried to ruin the lives of soldiers?
Probably did. And she was a real hypocritical piece of work.
Yes. Its called the Air Force Recognition Ribbon./s
If they get their panties in a wad over fucknuckle, how much bowel-emptying self righteous indignation will they churn up when someone gets called a dickweed?
And then there are some that just consider the source and move on, life is to short to be agitated by others.
or to date ugly women or drink cheap beer/whiskey
I think I was called worse by superiors, to include SNCOs and officers, while in uniform and on duty. Of course, I deserved it every time, learned from it, and pressed on.
Takes a real pussy to get upset over fucknuckle. I suggest a go-fund-me to get an addapairtome.
I have zero tolerance or sympathy for soft minded people that get upset when someone swears.
Good. Phuk you.
Twitter – the social circle for malcontents.
Glad it’s not something necessary in my life.
I don’t know if every pilot is a thin-skinned punk as claimed in the Tweets, but I know some today at Military Airfields in Western Mass who are definitely little fuck knuckle crybabies.
In any event, Twitter has always seemed like a place for “twits” to pretend they can engage in some really witty dialogue. It happens on occasion but I’ve seen far more “twats” atwittering whenever I’ve been on there reading a news feed.
In my experience far too many people engaging in a battle of wits show up unarmed for the event.
There’s a SPC that is getting dragged pretty hard on Twitter for a few ill-advised comments. He may be having to answer a few questions today. The Facebook page seen in the thread was up yesterday but appears to be down today. https://twitter.com/Animal_Mothah/status/1069029580357406720
I think animal_mothah is Spencer Rapones new handle, remember the West Point socialist? Perhaps I’m wrong, but they sure look alike.
I think there may have been a pattern for TankCPTNemo’s perma ban. Heck, ArmyguyJustin only received 12 hours in timeout for telling Louise Mensch to go walk in traffic. ‘Woke’ milvet twitter definitely gets in the mud and often will pile on those who have different opinions. Here is one of TankCPTNemo’s tweets:
SANTA Clausewitz’s Razor 🎅🏻
@TankCPTNemo
I’m sick and tired of seeing the flags flying at half-mast because the @NRA has paid off our legislators. The #2A wasn’t created to allow everyone to own whatever gun they want. Ban assault weapons. Regulate gun ownership. End our national shame. #VetsForGunReform
More on woke milvet twitter, many use stolen valor phonies to amplify their message and increase followers, profiles like these:

And Doc Petey, who even wrote an article on Task and Purpose about a fake sexual assault:

Scampers off to add “fucknuckles” to the The Continent of Insults®™
I keep a facebook page just so I can browse pages of people who are arrested for robbing a pizza delivery guy at their own front door.
btw, fibmcgee1’s page is empty, and shall remain so.
