Here’s your morning update on Iraq:

https://www.militarytimes.com/flashpoints/2018/11/11/us-iraqi-forces-kill-dozens-of-islamic-state-fighters/

BAGHDAD — by The Associated Press — The U.S. military says American and Iraqi forces killed more than 50 Islamic State militants, including several commanders, in northern Iraq last month.

U.S. Central Command said Sunday that an Oct. 30 operation in Salahuddin province killed five ISIS leaders and more than 30 other militants, and that an operation the following day in the Makhmour Mountains killed around 20 ISIS fighters. It says the leaders killed in the first raid were responsible for coordinating attacks across northern and western Iraq.

It’s a short story, but there’s a nice shot of a grenade exploding in a hillside cave.

There’s also a link to an earlier story from 11/05/18 regarding the reasons that it will take years to decades and possibly a full generation or more to reform the Iraqi military. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/2018/11/05/why-a-self-reliant-iraqi-military-may-take-years-if-not-decades-and-could-require-a-generation-to-reform/

Definitely worth your time to read both stories.

So basically, we’re going to be shedding American Blood and Treasure in this whole God forsaken part of the world forever, or Armageddon, whichever comes first? I’ll take Armageddon for $1,000 Alex. Been fighting now for what, 5,000 years? Odd to me, we can take a young American, send them thru a Military Academy for 4 years, give them a few years of OJT, and for the most part, they get the hang of being a military commander. We can take other young Americans, send them thru 8-12 weeks of basic training, then another 8-12 weeks of AIT, a few more weeks of OJT, and they become lean, mean killing machines. Least ways, that’s the way it used to work. They only way to defeat an “insurrectionist rabble” is to kill them all. And there is no way to kill them all. We will never “win” in this area; they don’t think or operate the way we do. Get us the f’..k out of the ground business and defend our country. Need be, leave a carrier group or two, just to piss them off and support the hunter/killer drones. Hellfire Missiles mean never having to say “Sorry I missed you!”

We could likely kill the majority of them, if the military was allowed and committed to do so; but the progtards and their media propagandists would never tolerate that. With the lefties we have now, we never could have fought and won WWII if they had any influence.

I wonder if they said the same about Germany in ’46. Too young to know.

That analogy falls apart when you consider Germany, and Japan as well, were nation states; when they fell the fighting stopped and the rebuilding began.

ISIS, not so much. I’d be happy to treat them like rogues or pirates- a quick local court martial and a hanging, or whatever.

That is my preferred solution.

“Iraqis still lack the ability to conduct basic intelligence gathering…”

“Report authors also noted that ISF “could not function” without using personal cell phones. Commanders also require burdensome paper orders…”

Is this a joke? Fifteen years of alleged training and they can’t gather intelligence in their own country or communicate with military equipment?

Time to go.

No one else on earth thinks like Americans. We are almost an extraterrestrial alien culture.

We celebrate that Washington won a few key fights, cleverly not losing, and victorious, turned away Rule. We do not express this respect by living as he did, and assuming the Deity does all the real work.

We are -not- going to Americanize that place, absent tactics to make Romans hesitate.
