Chelsea Manning … Bloke or Sheila? We may never know.

Chelsea Manning won’t be permitted to enter Australia for a speaking tour scheduled to kick off at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday after that country’s Department of Home Affairs deemed the American classified document leaker failed to meet character requirements. While the Australian government won’t address Manning’s case specifically, per the AP, a person having a criminal record could cause them to fail the character test. Manning, a former US Army intelligence officer, was convicted of leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks and served seven years in prison. Manning also has speaking dates scheduled in New Zealand. That country’s government is still considering whether to grant her a “special direction” visa, which she would need due to her conviction. In a statement, Amnesty International says Australia’s decision sends a “chilling message that freedom of speech is not valued.”
Bradley might not have what it takes to blow my skirt up, but it seems a bit much to deny what’s its name into a Westernized country. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander as they say. Bar silly girls like Bradly and they can bar people like me for not fearing a God. They will use the criminal aspect of what this idiot has done in the past, but I betcha there are people who have done far worse that have been let into the country.

Drinking my coffee on a cool morning in New England and enjoying the Friday morning feel good stories. A great start to another day of retired bliss when Dave posts this Manning missive.
I get pissed every time I see the official Army photo of Manning wearing the 10th Mountain Division (LI) combat service identification badge. I grew up in the “North Country” of upstate New York and Fort Drum is sacred ground to me. Home of the Army’s most heavily deployed division and legendary winter soldiers. Manning’s prison sentence was commuted by the last occupant of the White House so I don’t care if our Aussie and Kiwi brethren deny Manning entry to their shores based on “character” deficiencies. He’s a disgraceful and despicable traitor who succeeded only in harming our nation’s national security.
I need to calm down now and think happy thoughts. I need to pray for the brave men and women of the 10th Mountain Division who continue to bring the fight to our enemies. CLIMB TO GLORY!

That’s true, DUI is considered a felony in Canada and those convicted of it in the USA can also be refused entry there.

Not unusual at all in Australia to deny entry or a visa to a person who has a criminal record.
The Australian government has been busy deporting bikers who have NO criminal convictions but for belonging to outlaw motorcycle clubs that are now deemed criminal organisations, dual citizens who get convicted of a crime with over 12 months sentence risk being deported back to their country of birth.
Interestingly the home affairs Minister Peter Dutton who oversees all these matters is in a bit of poo for over-riding Australian border force denial of entry to two au pairs and giving them both a visa, they were to work for some people who lobbied him.
I suppose it’s better to have a French & Italian au pair come into Australia & work illegally than have tens of thousands of Muslims who get on welfare, hate the west, hate Australians & their lifestyle and would like to kill each & every one of us if they could, but they let them in, even promote it, AAAH, the diversity!
