Man critical and facing charges after domestic violence incident in South Memphis

A man was stabbed during a domestic incident on Christmas Day, 2024, and is being charged with domestic assault, according to the affidavit.MPD initially responded to a wounding on the 3500 block of Mediterranean Drive at around 6:40 p.m.
At the scene, officers discovered that the suspect, D’Anthony Holmes, had been stabbed during an altercation on the 3500 block of Shemwell Avenue.
Later, MPD responded to the scene, where they found the victim, Michea Bassett, with minor injuries.
According to the affidavit, Holmes and Bassett co-parent their child.
Bassett reported that she and Holmes had agreed he would take an Uber to his mother’s house to pick up their daughter. Since Holmes is not allowed inside, he was told to wait outside in the Uber for her.
Bassett reported hearing a loud knock on the door, which was answered by Holmes’ younger brother, before Holmes allegedly forced his way inside and charged at her. Fearing for her life, Bassett grabbed a knife and warned Holmes to stay back.
Both Holmes’ mother and brother reportedly tried to hold him back, but he broke free and managed to grab her. He then allegedly punched her several times in the head

Man reportedly attacking woman shot by teen in Humboldt Park, police say
A man was reportedly attacking a woman when he was shot by a teenager on the city’s Northwest Side, according to Chicago police.
The shooting happened at 8:50 p.m. in the 3900-block of West Huron Street in the city’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.
The man, 45, was allegedly attacking a woman, 40, inside the home moments before the shooting.
That’s when police said the 16-year-old boy grabbed a gun and shot the man in the lower back.
The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said the teenager ran away after the shooting.

Second dude is publicly assaulting a woman (how does he know? is he a biologist?), is shot by teen stopping the assault. Teen (wisely) decides to follow the Fourth Ess (Shut Up) by not being in the vicinity when the po-po finally arrive. I hope said teen is never outed or caught.
Yeah, sounds like the youth did a good deed.. of course the fact that he was armed in that area probably means he’s a gangbanger, so there’s that…
