Army Specialist Granted Citizenship

A South Korean-born U.S. Army specialist who sued after the military moved to discharge her has been granted citizenship, her attorneys said Friday.
Yea Ji Sea, 29, had filed a lawsuit last month demanding a response to her citizenship application. She came to the country as a child on a visitor visa and held other visas before enlisting in 2013 under a special government program for foreign citizens who want to serve in the U.S. military.
Under the program, recruits agreed in their enlistment contracts to apply to naturalize as soon as their honorable service was certified.
Her lawsuit alleged that that the government improperly failed to process her citizenship application. Earlier this week, a federal judge ruled immigration officials had three weeks to decide whether to approve the citizenship application or explain the delay to the court.
Good on her…the immigration system is a mess. I hope we continue to fix it finally.

Well she did submit false/bogus paper work whether she it was false or not.
The government alleged it. Didn’t prove it.
Sometimes that shit happens to good people. I have a Soldier going through that shit right now. Born and raised American, 15 years of service, multiple deployments, and his application for an official passport was denied because the midwife that birthed him 35 years ago was convicted of alien smuggling and fraud.
The system is a fucking mess.
Also, the government doesn’t have to prove it in citizenship cases, the burden of proof falls on the applicant, not the gov. Using “pay to stay” schools are very common , especially by Chinese. Then they get some sad American to marry them, very common scam.
And when you follow the rules, you should be granted something. I.E. review, acceptance or denial. Good for her.
She didn’t follow the rules, she cheated. She came to the US to go to school at a fake school. Then she joined under MAVNI, which is another bogus program by Obama admin. Get her out. US doesn’t need anymore Chinese spies, we have enough of those.
Probably of a different mindset than the South Korean retained by the NYT.

Those are fake, he was more than likely born in Mexico. They have been getting many of those, very common fake affidavits. Not his fault as I am sure he believes the lie himself, hes probably like 25-30? From Texas? IRS not really the culture to be born fr ok m a midwife for Mexicans. They aren’t 22 year old Connecticut vegan moms. They will take the free birth on American dime any day of the week.
What sucks so much about this is the speed with which the bureaucrats acted after she sued and after the judge set a deadline–not yet reached–for the gov’t to respond. If they can get it right now, they should have gotten it right sooner. Damn bureaucrats.
That is far too often the problem. It can be done, but they shouldn’t need the court system to get them to do their jobs.
Same as having a higher level commander come in to get someone to do their job. You shouldn’t need to do that, but it happens way too often because the bureaucracy has a priority level built upon their own needs.
She filed man Damis. That is an old court ruling forcing USCIS to act, does not mean it will be granted, but that USCIS will have to act. Reminder:not all service is honorable.
