Eric Swalwell wants to take your guns

| May 7, 2018

Democrats have been telling us that they don’t want to take your guns away. They only want to make it harder for people to buy a gun legally. Well, a corner of that tent flew up last week when Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell of California admitted that he wants to confiscate your gun like they did in Australia;

Reinstating the federal assault weapons ban that was in effect from 1994 to 2004 would prohibit manufacture and sales, but it would not affect weapons already possessed. This would leave millions of assault weapons in our communities for decades to come.

Instead, we should ban possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, we should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law, and we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons. The ban would not apply to law enforcement agencies or shooting clubs.

There’s something new and different about the surviving Parkland high schoolers’ demands. They dismiss the moral equivalence we’ve made for far too long regarding the Second Amendment. I’ve been guilty of it myself, telling constituents and reporters that “we can protect the Second Amendment and protect lives.”

Only a moron would listen to high school students’ demands and take those demands seriously. Someone who is opposed to an amendment in the Bill of Right is just one such moron. I wonder how Swalwell intends to find all of the owners of semiautomatic firearms – suspend the protections against unreasonable searches in the Bill of Rights, too?

Swalwell claims that if the government pays us $1000/rifle it would cost the government about $15 billion to buy the whole bunch back;

The federal government is spending an estimated $4 trillion this year; $15 billion would be 0.375% of that, not that we must spend it all in one year.

Meanwhile, the GOP’s tax “reform” — a giveaway to corporations and the rich that threw comparatively meager scraps to working families — is projected to increase the national debt by $1.9 trillion over the next decade.

What is it worth to American taxpayers to not see our families, friends and neighbors cut down in a hail of gunfire? Consider this an investment in averting carnage and heartache and loss.

So $15 billion is the cost of hyperbole. I wonder if he did the math on the cost of making prosecutors enforce the existing laws.

As seen in 300:

SFC D

I hate to burst your bubble, Eric, but my AR-15 is not an assault weapon. It is a defensive weapon. And if you want it, come get it. Yourself. Just you. If you can take it from me, you can have it. It won’t be loaded. I’m just gonna beat your ass with it. We can call it an “assault club”. Douchebag.

Only Kalifornicators would elect a pathetic P.O.S. brainwashed squirrel like this one! Don’t quote what happened in Australia unless you plan on telling the whole story! I know, not in the dumocraps playbook! Aussies crime rate went sky high when stole peoples guns!!

Former EM1/SS

Greg Marmalard went to Congress?

Yes he did. He just had to change his name, due to his activities in college.

Daniel Simpson Day for President. Now more than ever.

He never recovered from what happened in prison after Watergate.

Double Speak for,

Consider this an investment in communism and making subjects of the masses.

11B-Mailclerk

Or, rather: “Obey and you won’t get hurt.

Cameron Kingsley

But don’t count on us upholding that last part of that deal.

The Other Whitey

Hey Eric, I’m in San Diego (Hunter’s district), and I’m easy to find. If you want my weapons so badly, you’re welcome to come and try to take them. Don’t send somebody else. You come. YOURSELF.

The Sheriff’s Deputies here will stand by me, as will almost all of CHP. I suppose you could go full tyrant and try to order the National Guard or regular Army to do it for you, but that won’t go over so well, especially not with the troops you would try to send, who swore to defend the Constitution.

MOLON LABE, you oathbreaking cocksucking smarmy pile of cockroach shit! Come get some!

UpNorth

One of the command officers at my former employer made the statement that, according to his purely unscientific poll of street troops, roughly 80% of the officers would refuse orders to participate in any confiscation orders, and would resign, rather than participate. He said the other 20% would likely walk away if/when the bullets began to fly. Especially when there was no back-up when they screamed for it.
I hope that is true.

The Other Whitey

There’s likely a few Commissar-ish assholes who fantasize about being the gestapo, but I’d like to think they’d be fragged in short order.

Basically Neidermeyer to Swalwell’s Marmalard.

David

But think of it like this… if only 3% of the population went along, that would give them a volunteer pool of 10 million people. Even small percentages add up nowadays.

The Other Whitey

And if 1in 5 known legal gun owners says “go fuck yourselves,” that 25 million against them

NHSparky

I’d venture to guess it would be WAY above 20 percent, given the facts NY/CT mandated registration and by their own estimates got about 10 percent compliance.

Mark Lauer

That is assuming that every person in that 3% (10 million) would want to actually DO that. It also presupposes that every person in that 10 Million is an adult, not mentally deranged, not elderly, and not just outright too scared to go in and try to take guns away from legal owners.
So, out of that 10 Million person “volunteer pool”, you might get about 100 people dumb enough to try and actually put the law into effect.

OldManchu

That 10 million number would reduce quickly.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

Wasn’t Neidermeyer fragged by his own troops??

The Other Whitey

Exactly.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

And Belushy ended up as a State Senator.

The Other Whitey

And later President, according to the DVD special features.

Ex-PH2

If I recall correctly, Joe Stalin executed his most senior and most experienced Russian Army officers after he got through executing his other perceived enemies. One of those was Massiliev, someone he needed, as WWII was just starting.

Thuggery is always an issue with those people.

CPT11A

Yeah, most of the officers would beat it, whether out of principle or out of fear. I feel some of them might have other ideas, like seizing the contents of their armories and taking any number of COAs from there.

More importantly, the enlisted guys would NEVER go along with this. Leftists love to talk about high-ranking officers who lean left, and even if that’s true (it’s pretty damn questionable), a two star and some field grades, along with some kiss-ass company types, aren’t going to have much of an effect if 90% of the enlisted ranks walk off the job.

Yef

Nobody is going to walk off the job.

If the libs win both Congress and the Whitey House, this time around they are so radicalized that they will not repeat the mistakes of Prez 0bama, who did not do everything he could in the first two years while they had control of the whole enchilada.

This time around they will make it the law of the land to confiscate all our guns, and if it is legal, if the 2nd Amendment is repealed by 3 fourths of Congress, then the military will follow the orders to confiscate, assuming posse comitatus gets temporarily rescinded by Congress, who has the power to do so in case of emergencies.

Its my experience in the US Army that we follow the rule of law whether we like it or not, and if it becomes law, we will first turn in our privately own weapons, and then go and take yours.

And I tell this to any civilian that asks me, so they understand how important is to vote and keep the libs from power.

The Other Whitey

Hate to say this, Yef, but anyone who expects to participate in confiscation better decide in advance whether it’s worth their life, because that will escalate rapidly and out of control. If the Tree of Liberty starts turning brown, it *will* be replenished.

Yef

Agreed. I am not saying is the right thing to do, but that is the way institutions like the military work, based in the rule of law, and if the libs change the law…

We have 241 years without military dictatorships precisely because the military is under civilian control and follows the rule of law.

The lib game plan is to use the law against all of us.

IDC SARC

We haven’t had a military coup because the military leadership and the troops have not been united in an effort to do such a thing…not because some civilian sits at the front desk.

Play fukkity fukk games with the constitution and see what happens.

Yef

Civilian controlled means the President, elected by the people, seats at the head of the table, and together with Congress, foot our bills and tell us how and what to do.

The concept of a civilian controlled military is the cornerstone of the legitimacy of the military services. It means democratically elected civilian officials decide how we play the game.

Like the only General I ever liked said, “I am a Soldier, I fight where I’m told, and I win where I fight”. GEN George S. Patton.

IDC SARC

yeah…human nature doesn’t exist and there’s no tipping point for loyalty…the Armed Forces is nothing but a bunch of people that operate on a conscious level incapable of reason beyond words that fit on a bumper sticker. They’ve never heard of the concept of an unlawful order.

The Other Whitey

Your point is valid, Yef. All I’m saying s that the consequences of the action being discussed will be very, very nasty, and the Soldiers involved will be in the unenviable position of having to choose between disobeying orders (orders that literally every poll shows would not be supported by the majority of the voters in our democratic republic) and having to trade bullets with their fellow Americans who have suddenly become “enemies of the State” via arbitrary declaration, absent any provocation on their part. Remember that the Tree of Liberty requires replenishment by the blood of both patriots and tyrants. Nobody’s gonna enjoy that. If Swalwell gets his way, it will be civil war, period.

Another reason why we’ve never seen a coup is that troops have rarely been deployed against citizens, by which I mean deployment for combat operations against US citizens, not shooting looters during disaster relief. On those rare occasions, the deployments were localized and directed at specific groups (the Bonus Army, or the New York draft rioters, for example), not a nationwide move against 1/3 to 1/2 of the population. The military’s willingness, or lack thereof, to engage in such a fascist move has never been tested.

rgr769

I am thinking such an effort to disarm the civilian populace might start a revolt similar to the one in Romania, and we all know how that ended for their leader and his communist party.

IDC SARC

yef…I think you may be taking that whole “Army of One” thing too literally. 🙂

SFC D

Yef has not yet been encumbered by things age, experience, and wisdom.

The Stranger

Aah, yes…my long ago youth. When I knew EVERYTHING!

Ex-PH2

Yef’s position is that Congress and the President can suspend Posse Comitatus – but it is ONLY during an emergency. Confiscating citizens’ property is NOT an emergency.
Personally, I doubt that the military in general would side with anyone giving an order to act against US citizens, because they’d be acting against their own side, not against an invading force.

UpNorth

You might want to study up on how an article in the Constitution is enacted, or repealed. 3/4 of the states would have to ratify the repeal of the 2nd Amendment.
You really think that you would open fire, if need be, on your own family? You think any other soldier would do so?

Casey

I think Yef has ignored the part of the oath where one swears to defend the Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic.

D

The day that happens… the passing of a law to repeal the 2nd amendment…. will be the day the next civil war starts in this country. The second amendment shall not be infringed.
When I was in, we didnt have anyone that would go along with a plan to harm our fellow citizens…We talked about it. Wasnt 1 in the bunch. 20 years latter? Maybe they have good little robots now who would obey? But I doubt things hav changed that much. But it would be the start of civil war. Clowns like swallowell dont have any sense.
Its people like him who should be sweeping the streets instead of trying to rule. Ass clown is fitting for Mr Communist Swallowell.

Ex-PH2

Regarding “confiscation”: there are plenty of people who have no guns who would step up and join the gun owners and support them in every way possible.

You have to take that into consideration when you make generalized statements.

I also cook.

This is the guy you wish you beat the effing crap out of in High School.
The only other person I said that about is Bill Clinton

The Other Whitey

Pretty sure I did beat the shit out of a kid just like him in 11th Grade. Little bastard was talking all kinds of shit, provoked me repeatedly, then was all kinds of surprised when he discovered the concept of “consequences.”

Ex-PH2

I hate to burst this asshole’s bubble – wait, I don’t mind bursting it at all, really. But it’s a complete misconception that everyone turned in their guns when that gun ban law went into effect. I have it from Aussies themselves that the actual number was/IS about 30%, period.

That said, he’s a petty dictator in a suit.

Throwing meager scraps to working families? When did that happen? Did family/household budgets just go flying out the window because electronic crap/junk became available and he thinks everyone has that crap in their pants pockets?

Please make sure that everyone knows what an cheap, tinpot twatwaffle this guy is. I’d bet money he has his head right of the behinds of some rather scummy, questionable people already in Congress.

George V

There was a guy shooting at cars in Georgia the other day. The one report I read (which now I can’t find) that actually gave details of his “arsenal” stated he had a couple of handguns and .22 cal. rifle. No asphalt..ass-halt.. scary gun.
So, after all the “assault guns” are confiscated, and shootings continue to happen, I think we can guess what the proggies next request will be.

Well, he does float an interesting concept midway through, actually enforcing a gun law. Most Democrats regard that as sacrilege, especially Obama and Holder. Must be a self-defense mechanism.

RetiredDevilDoc8404

We had to meet certain standards to serve in the military – mental, physical, and moral. Shouldn’t these ass clown politicians have to meet even more stringent standards? And since the military is subject to random drug screening, they should be as well. The way some of these boob act they have GOT to be on some really good drugs, might be a way to finally clean house. This crackhead, let him come by my house to ask about guns. Funny how tough the dems talk about guns. All those laws that they got passed in the last 50 years. You would think that there would be no crime? But Wait! They don’t enforce them! They get ignored by prosecutors who are more concerned with their win/loss ratio than they are about putting criminals away.

Here are two examples from the Socialist Paradise of the Demorctatic People’s Republic of Massachusetts. In the last two months there have been two LEOs killed in New England, one in Yarmouth Ma and the other in Maine. What do they both have in common? The Massachusetts Catch and Release plan. The career criminal who shot the cop in Yarmouth was being arrested for a probation violation while he was out on bail for a stabbing he did in December. He also got an illegal firearm and murdered a K-9 Officer. The second on was the deputy killed in Maine. The Methhead, junky turd, Oh I am sorry, the poor opiate confused individual, shot and killed a Deputy because the deputy was not nice to the Methheads girlfriend when she was arrested, also methhead. Again, said junky turd, he had been arrested in Ma for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a High Capacity feeding device. He bonded out. The next week, murders a cop.

So, instead of these two turds being in jail where they belong, they are out killing people. Can we have the prosecutors fired, Nope. Can we have the death penalty, Nope. Can we have guns to protect ourselves, Nope. That is the “Utopia” that people like the good congressman want. We will be at the mercy of violent predators and junkies, while they are protected in gated communities and armed guards and police.

Mason

Yup. And then we’re all standing in bread lines and breaking up our furniture to burn to heat the house in the winter.

Socialism has never worked.

RetiredDevilDoc8404

Jack, you mean good ol’ 125? The dirt bag career criminal who should never have seen the light of day outside the greybar hotel 122 crimes ago? And the guy the idiot judge let go if he behaved himself for 90 days? STELLAR individuals, long criminal histories yet they both managed to get guns. What happened to that gun law in the DPRM where if you got caught with a gun and no FID card it was a mandatory year in jail? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody charged let alone sentenced under it. What do we expect when we have a member of the parole board who believes paroling career criminals is in the public’s welfare?

A Proud Infidel®™

As I see it, if Gun Control Laws were truly the panacea that liberals say they are then places like Chicago, NYC, NJ and Mexico would be crime-free utopias!

Ever notice that most of these peeps who want a total confiscation of firearms have their own body guards, are surrounded by armed guards or legally carry like Pelosi if she still does and how about nyc mayor diblasio’s aide who was pulled over in her car on a traffic stop a week or two ago and was carrying a handgun with no permit on her person. Hmmmmm

The Other Whitey

“What is it worth to American taxpayers to not see our families, friends and neighbors cut down in a hail of gunfire?”

Waiting for y’all to answer. As for me, I don’t have any families, friends and neighbors that have been cut down in a hail of gunfire.

Perry Gaskill

Swalwell is like a cardboard cutout of a career politician. He probably started running for office in Kindergarten. What also seems apparent is that he’s been able to park his butt in a Bay Area congressional seat by both sucking up to Nancy Pelosi, and by a careful avoidance of issues that actually matter to the bulk of his constituency.

Jumping on the Parkland shooting as a central campaign issue is not something people in the East Bay would probably find all that important. Not even in Castro Valley.

Go to Swalwell’s congressional website, and what’s remarkable is not what it includes, but what it omits. For example, despite all the pearl-clutching about an incident at a Florida high school, Swalwell is apparently careful to make no mention of the current bitter fight over illegal immigration in California. Such unpleasantness needing to be set aside, one might imagine, when one is thinking of the children.

Various polls have indicated that most Californians, especially in the Bay Area, also consider the cost of housing to be one of the more critical issues in the state. San Francisco, for those keeping score, is now more expensive than Manhattan. Nor are those prices likely going to get any better given state environmental policies spinning out of control. Among other things, the state’s Energy Commission recently announced it would adopt a rule making the installation of solar panels mandatory on new houses starting in 2020. The extra cost is estimated at $20,000 to $30,000 per dwelling.

Given the circumstances, you might think Swalwell would take a position on policies which might mean his constituents wind up living under a bridge. Such thinking would be wrong.

NHSparky

$30k is a drop in the bucket compared to the total cost of a new home.

Just for shits and giggles, I looked up the Zillow estimate on my old house in Orange County.

Nothing fancy, mind you. 1500 sq. ft., 45×70 foot lot (I could mow front and back in <15 min.) in a "middle-class" area.

Current estimate for that 20+ year old house? $850k. ISYN.

CPT11A

1. I didn’t buy my rifle for $1,000, so I’m sure as hell not selling it for $1,000.

2. This guy really thinks its a good idea to put millions of law-abiding citizens in the justice system, be it court or actual prison, for holding onto tools that never hurt anyone and never would?

3. Eric Swalwell has spent his entire adult life as either a district attorney or weasel politician. While he surely defines that as public service, he’s never been in any sort of armed service, which I suppose is why he doesn’t realize the level of desertion that would happen in those ranks if ordered to turn on decent Americans. Desertion, or more lethally for people like Swalwell, mutiny.

Mick

Mutiny indeed.

Imbeciles like Swalwell also naively assume that if their heavy-handed ‘gun control’ and other oppressive communist/socialist policies are ever actually implemented, they’ll automatically be guaranteed a seat as an elite member-for-life in the newly-formed Democtratic Party Politburo.

History teaches otherwise.

CPT11A

Yeah, communism sucked for everybody, but even compared to other totalitarian ideologies, it was especially nasty to its biggest believers.

Not that I’m heartbroken by that.

Hondo

Indeed. Just ask Trotsky and Bukharin.

Or, more precisely, ask their ghosts.

CPT11A

Or Kamenev, Zinoviev, Yakhov, Iagoda…and that’s just off the top of my head.

If you look at rosters of Old Bolsheviks of the Soviet Union, it’s amazing how many of them died sometime between 1937-1938. And in those years, it was never peaceful.

On the contrary, despite their fierce resistance to all things communism, White leaders generally lived out their lives in peace, in nasty locales like the French Riviera.

Hondo

For an even better example, look at the members of the first Soviet Politburo.

The first Soviet Politburo had seven members: Lenin, Zinoviev, Kamenev, Trotsky, Stalin, Sokolnikov and Bubnov. Five of them (Zinoviev, Kamenev, Trotsky, Sokolnikov, and Bubnov) were all done in by Stalin. And there’s considerable thought that Lenin’s fatal “stroke” in 1924 was not a stroke at all, but was the result of Stalin having Lenin offed so that he could take power in the Soviet Union.

If the latter is true, that means that the eventual winner in the post-Revolutionary power struggle in the Soviet Union (Stalin) offed each of the other six member of the first Soviet (Bolshevik) Politburo.

High-stakes competition, indeed.

rgr769

Smirky Swalwell is apparently ignorant of what happened in Romania when a large segment of the people decided to rid themselves of the Communist dictatorship which deprived their population of freedom and economic opportunity. Within a week or two after the shooting started most of the Romanian armed forces joined the uprising. It was a Romanian general who ordered the commie dictator and his wife shot.

Skyjumper

“…we should buy back such weapons….”

Hmmm, nope, nah…just looking at my receipts. Appears that I never did buy my firearms from the US Gov, so how can they “buy back”?

Anyyyyyhow, they were all lost in this years spring flood when the snow melted, so I guess no $1000 X ? for me.

The one-party state that is California knows that at some point, there will be resistance. They have managed to drive most of the local potential problems -out- and elsewhere. But they know that the holdouts will include those willing and able to make a most noisy opposition.

And bloody.

So this sort of “start rounding up the guns” crap is going to increase and escalate. The Astro-turf well-planned “spontaneous” SorosJungend protests are a symptom, not a one-off.

No doubt the Tranzi core want the US to do the buying and dying to further their goal of a west-coast “done -right- this time!” Venezuela.

And if that seems far-fetched, consider what the logical reaction is to a significant number of California communities and counties saying “no way!” to recent legislative ass-hattery. And no, backing down isn’t going to be one of the choices.

California may try to secede. It may decide to stay and try to convert the rest of America to their Utopian scheme. Enthusiastic cooperation from the People is expected. The constituent parts and folks of California are going to get jackbooted if they get any ideas of seceding from California. Or just resisting much further.

The Other Whitey

They haven’t done a very good job of driving the Americans out of the LA basin, though San Francisco is another story (that has more to do with the stench of hobo piss than anything else). There’s reportedly still quite a few legal gun owners in the cesspool that lies between Orange, Santa Barbara, and San Bernardino.

As for us inland-California rednecks, we’re cleaning our no-longer-bulletbuttoned scary black rifles* and saying to Swallowell, “Try it and see what happens next, you flatlander fuck!”

* Not naming names, but suffice it to say that when the California-compliant bullet button was banned, a LOT of Californians said, “Okay, fuck you too then, Jerry Brown!” and put their rifles back in GI configuration. Much of the state is not too much of a drive from Arizona and/or Nevada for range time anyway.

Just search the name eric swalwell (All lower case intended) on YouTube and you’ll see a collection of D-rat propaganda that will deplete one’s IQ points to a Dutch Rudder gang level, I WARNED YOU!

Threaten to ban guns, and they’re convinced mass shootings, gun violence, etc., will simply disappear.
