Mike Sleeper update
Last year, Dave Hardin told you about Mike Sleeper, a school board member in Columbia County, Georgia, who, for some reason, thought that it was important that he told his constituents that he was an Army Ranger.
When we exposed him as a liar, he told us all that he was requesting records that would prove us wrong. We’ve been waiting patiently for that proof. Here is our documentation;
Our sources tell us that he missed a filing date for reelection on March 9th, so I guess he figured that it was better to avoid a public campaign rather than release records that he doesn’t have anyway.
From the Augusta Chronicle on March 7th;
Declaring for the school board’s District 3 seat are three Evans residents – George Bratcher, a retired Army veteran and current cyber intelligence analyst; Andrew Kemp, an associate professor in Augusta University’s College of Education; and retired educator Judy Teasley.
The election is scheduled for May 22.
Last year, Sleeper emailed us that we were in error, but his emails stopped when we refused to take down the post about him. Locals are crediting us with his decision to quit local politics.

During my Army AD time in the early 90s, pissong hot was a guaranteed ticket to a Field Grade Article 15 with max punishment which for E4 and below meant busted to E1, “45 and 45”, loss of 1/2 month’s pay for two months and swept out the back door with yesterday’s trash. Maybe Michael Sleeper did that or an equally boneheaded dickstepping? One thing is for sure and it’s that Michael Sleeper HAS NOT produced the documentation that he promised to. Talk about Spam Jonn, when the OKIE LPH 3 was in the Philly shipyard drydock going through a re fit for the new home port of San Diego and Viet Nam cruises, We used to give the Yard Birds canned spam dated from the late 40’s early 50’s plus ground coffee in large tinned cans so we could bypass the paper work that had to be filled out for parts that the Engineering Snipes were capable of working on. Lunch time had the Birds sterilizing a piece of I Beam with a torch then cooking the spam on top of it. In Navy jargon, the trading was called “Cumshore”. Most of them came down by bus every morning from Brooklyn where they were closing down the NY (Brooklyn) Navy yard. Rode the bus with them one Friday going on a 72 hour Liberty. Colorful bunch of guys.

Back in the day, when Ranger Joes was a real surplus store downtown Columbus, if you were going to Ranger School it was the cheapest place to pick up jungle fatigues and a lot of other stuff that would make your life easier. And it was a treasure hunt, cause it was just piles of stuff. Not so much anymore.
I remember the days.
Ranger Joe’s was the place to quickly pick up the pieces of TA-50 one needed for inventory or turn in!
That was “back in the day,” when Ranger Joe’s was a little hole in the wall business in downtown Columbus. It was full of real war surplus stuff. I bought my first set of GI issue jungle fatigues and jungle boots there. It had everything you would need to survive Ranger School, anyway, gear wise. When I was in their new facility outside Columbus in 2007, it was like going to Cabella’s. Nothing in stock was original war surplus.
I know one of the guys running, George Bratcher, and vouch for him. He’s a retired MI MAJ, prior enlisted. He’s one of the Good Guys (and a conservative).
