You’re a better man than I am, Claymore. That drivel gives me a headache.

Ex-PH2

Oh, dearie, dearie, dearie me!!!

They’re worried about what woman could possibly win if shrillary can’t get elected POTUS???

Well, the GOPers simply need a short, bad-tempered bitch like me to volunteer for that crappy job, but I wouldn’t volunteer for it, either.

AW1Ed

You’re in good company, Ex.

“I will not accept if nominated and will not serve if elected.”
Gen. Sherman

Mason

It’ll be so much fun to watch Gillibrand (big time flip-flopper populist) or lying Pocahontas get nominated. Those debates will have more epic Trump memes than his debates with the Hilldebeast.

drUncle Joe is sniffing around for try #3, I hear. The Return of the Gaff Master.

Brown Neck Gaitor

“Suicide prevention put me on hold”

Still the funniest, non-election night, line ever posted on DU.

Claymore

Second only to “The women in my office never invite me to eat pizza. I know it’s because I’m male.” Ah, Magic Rat…we hardly knew ye.

Mason

Never ceases to amaze me how much they really hope, wish, and pray for the death or assassination of the president. As much as I hated Clinton and Obama, I wouldn’t wish death on them.

Left-right politics in this country has really become not just a battle of ideas, but a battle of religions to those on the left. It’s like the Muslims declaring a holy war or the crusaders. All non-believers should be killed and anything done to achieve your righteous leftwing goals is acceptable.

Mason

And why is it they think the idea of arming teachers is going to be a mandatory policy? Who ever even insinuated that!? It’d be like the armed pilots. Volunteers, nobody is going to be forced to carry a gun.

The hyperbole on the left is so over the top all the time.

Ex-PH2

Mason, when was the last time you were around 10 year old kids?

Constant hyperbole, widely fluctuating emotions, anxiety attacks and squalling fits over nothing are the marks of small children.

Mason

Ha, good point. But I think my 12 year old niece is more emotionally and rationally mature than what I see over there.

I thought the phrase liberalism is a mental disease was funny, but now I don’t. I think it’s true, and that about half the voters every go for it is scary.

Ex-PH2

It is, indeed, a mental disorder, something along the lines of groupthink, in which they give up their right to think for themselves and hustle along with the crowd. They have the emotional maturity of the toddler who only throws tantrums in front of the video camera.

In other words, they become so dumbed down that tantrums are the norm and if someone told them ‘go that way’ (right off a cliff), they’d go without question.

Really enjoyed the letter from a furious teacher in “Literally Not My Job”.

I am a high school teacher. It is hysterical liberal idiots like that who have driven me to apply for a job on an oil rig.

She talks about students living in fear. Even with the bullshit number of 18 school shootings this year, .05% of American schools have been attacked. Basically 1 in 2,000. If you go to work at a school every day thinking, “this is the day I get my head blown off”, you watch too much CNN.

And no, it’s not in my job description to get shot in the face. Unless you’re a cop, soldier or firefighter, reacting to disasters is never in the job description. You don’t have to be a hero. Aaron Feis didn’t have to be a hero. I’m sure other unnamed teachers at MDS and Columbine simply locked the door and hunkered down with whatever students they had. They won’t be getting fired for it. Note that the descriptions of people like Aaron Feis always mention how they went “above and beyond”. No one asked him to do what he did.

So no, no one is asking you to die. And the risk of you dying at work by gunshot is infinitesimally small.

Shut the hell up.

Mason

I was also thinking that nobody is asking you. I’m sure there were a lot of people who heard the shots then pissed themselves, found religion, and hid under a desk. No shame in not dying a hero. It’s not for everyone.

CPT11A

Yep.

Some people show up at fresh roadside car wrecks and sob helplessly as some poor SOB burns to death in his car. Others get lauded by Jonn as “saving the world”.

Some people bolted out of the towers at 8:47 AM on that Tuesday so many years ago, saving only themselves. Others, like Frank Martini and Pablo Ortiz, are immortalized in movies like “Heroes of the 88th Floor”.

If everyone did that, it wouldn’t be special. It’d just be normal. Another boring line in your contract.
