Arnold LePotvin; Vietnam stolen valour
Our partners at Stolen Valour – Canada share their work on this Arnold LePotvin (with two FB pages) fellow who claims that he served in Vietnam 1963 – 1965 with the Special Forces – Recon Division and the 82d Airborne Division where he made eighteen combat parachute jumps on “search and kill” missions. The 82d was in Vietnam 1967 – 1968 and they made no parachute jumps while they were there. The only combat parachute jump in Vietnam was made by the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Operation Junction City in 1967.
When he came back from Vietnam, LePotvin says that he was sent to Fort Bragg, Virginia and after that he was sent to Cyprus while he was assigned to the United Nations special forces.
In keeping with American traditions, there is a motorcycle and a vest involved;
The National Personnel Records Center says “Who?”
From Stolen Valour – Canada;
SV-C is pleased to report, that with encouragement of the local veterans community, Mr LePOTVIN has surrendered the bogus medals and they will be disposed of in an appropriate manner.

“united nations special forces”….what in the actual hell?
There I was, with the other members of the United Nations Special Forces, shooting big giant ants. They were all over the place, shooting acid at my battle buddies. I had to shoot buildings down in order to clear my view to shoot more of these giant ants.
Thanks to me, you don’t have to live your life being harvested by giant ants. You’re welcome!
Ants…why did it have to be ants?
Oh, dearie, dearie me. MUST he do this? (Rhetorical, don’t answer.)
Just once, I’d like to run across someone who claims he was a supply clerk pog over in the Viet of the Nam and got shot while he was defending the fort under his desk.
Wait – didn’t we have someone like that?
I was in the 82nd in the Viet of the Nam during that era. Never saw a parachute. Did get jump pay though!
sj, I too was with the 82nd. in Viet nam.
Are you going to attend the 50th. anniversary being held this year at West Point?
Not sure bman because I have some schedule conflicts. I was in the 1/101(ABN)(SEP) for Tet and was transferred to the 3rd BDE when they arrived in country as the BDE Signal Officer. I rotated out in Dec from Red Ball.
Pleasure “meeting” you.
“…the 50th. anniversary…”
*Sigh* I just got over turning 70 and now you do this to me. You’re mean!
I’m 76. I can’t believe it either. Folks are surprised when I say that the memories of being a trooper in the 82nd in the Viet of the Nam are the highlight of my professional life. In the 1/101, my boss was BG Salve Matheson, a “Band of Brother”. I the moved to the 3/82nd under amazing BG Alexander “Bud” Bolling. I have been blessed.
SJ….I can’t believe it either, I turn 70 in July! Back in the day 1970, when I was drafted I was so pissed off about it. All I wanted to do was get back to college and continue my baseball career!
Now, almost 50 years later as I reflect back on my life, I tell my teammates, I’m real happy about my hall of fame induction for baseball. It’s great, but serving in the Army in Vietnam, is my proudest moment!
Welcome home and don’t forget the 50th Anniversary TET Party on 24 February 2018, 3-9 PM. At the All Saints Brewery, Greensburg Pa 15601.
Remember it is the year of the Dog. VVI Westmoreland County – Pres-USAF/VP- Navy SEAL/Sec-CIB Army/Tres-CIB Army. You are all welcome.
I would be more pleased if he surrendered that hair cut and those two metrosexual dogs…and have a bike mechanic check the integrity of his shocks
That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever read.
Maybe he has eaten 18 hotdogs in one setting.
One look at that belly of his makes me want to yell “HEY KOOL-AID!” at him just to see if he’ll suddenly crash through a wall saying “OH YEAAAAHHHH!”.
“…dispatched to Fort Bragg, Virginia.”
Well he is Canadian so US geography might be confusing, eh? But he was there so would think he’d know what state he was in?
I took Basic at Fort Jackson which, as you know, is in Kansas. Later, I was dispatched to Fort Campbell, Wisconsin.
I did Basic at Ft Knox, New Jersey and AIT at Ft Wainwright, Califruitsnnutz.
I went to Fort Riley, Colorado and finished in Fort Benning, New York.
I was dispatched to Viet of the Nam to do some serious dispatching of my own.
And I got patches for my dispatches.
Know what state he’s in? Obviously, he’s in the state of fuckery.
What an ass maggot this guy is. It’s like he’s not even TRYING to be convincing.
And he has a RCL patch. Great representation. Way to go clown!
Agent Orange is that you?
And he does have the vest, motorcycle and dogs. Just missing the do rag
but he has tats and hats, and dangly shiny-stuff
Anybody with hats, tats and the leather biker vest has to be the real deal.
Agent Orange Kool-Aid, maybe.
About 30,000 Canadians enlisted in the US miltary to serve in Vietnam. That’s a lot.
I am not surprised their valor is stolen.
Same for the Aussies. About 61,000 served.
And we have seen them here as well.
easier to do dress-up than to hook-up
I thought he was legit Airborne when I saw the “high & tight” haircut he sported, but came to my senses when I noticed he was wearing his reserve ‘chute under his orange POW/MIA t-shirt. 😉
We might be caught with our fly open or a strip of toilet paper hanging from our ass, but no self-respecting “All American” would EVER tuck his shirt over his reserve! (grin)
(Co.A, 2/325 – White Falcons 1970-71)
Reserve chute?
Oh, for Pete’s sake! I thought he was hiding a watermelon under there!
Reserve chute, nope!! That’s a T-10 Main under his shirt and the new faux leather camo designed G-11 Cargo chute sporting patches that he’s modeling. New chute is designed to allow other jumpers 30+ min to get off the DZ before the shitbags hit and blow apart in every direction
COCKSUCKER!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……………… (as the echos slowly die away)
I’d seriously like to know how he got his Veteran licence plate as you have to provide your record of service. I had to go through an obstacle course to get mine.
Someone should look into the person who authorized it. Maybe there are more thieves that person authorized or maybe took bribes. If it can happen once, it can happen more.
Not a bad idea. Is there a single method of issuing license plates in Canada? Requirements vary among the US states.
Each province issues their own plates, but the Legion is the “authority” for getting Veteran’s plates. They provide a letter that you present to the licensing agency to get the plates.
Bet he’s not a real member of the Beer Police either. FAKER!!!!!!
Nope.
I’d say he drinks Molson Light and thinks it’s cool stuff.
You’ll probably never find him near anything stronger than ‘near beer’.
For anyone with any knowledge of the US military, the “82nd Airborne Special Forces” is a dead give-away.
MAYBE he rode Short Bus #82 and it was his favorite because he thought it had the tastiest windows?
He definitely is window licker material. He looks like he belongs on “Trailer Park Boys” or whatever that Canuck TV show is called.
Pathetic! The lies just get piled higher and deeper! Maybe on some of them jumps he landed on his head.

The 82d Airborne Special Forces Group based at the uber-classified secret Fort Bragg annex in Virginia was the super-secret squirrel outfit of time-traveling SOF operators who served as the shock troops backing up Casca as he took on the Mongols, Jannissaries, barbarians and other baddies during his time travel ops for the CIA. I’m telling you, this guy is the real deal and absolutely LEGIT !!!
