According to New River Valley Regional Jail records David Joseph Cecil of Narrows was booked into the Dublin facility Tuesday on charges of attempted robbery and burglary.
Cecil was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in the early morning hours of Jan. 3 with what authorities termed “serious” injuries. He was one of two men shot at a residence in the Stockpen Mountain Road area of Giles.
Dakota Ryan Bailey, 20, of Narrows was pronounced dead at the scene.
From San Antonio, Texas;
A West Side apartment resident shot a homeless man who allegedly kicked in his door because he wanted to stay inside overnight.
Police said the 30-year-old suspect had been reported as sleeping outside an apartment door at the Gates of Capernum apartments in the 8600 block of Waters Edge Drive.
Some residents tried to help the man so he’d leave, police said, but the man didn’t want to and kicked a door in.
When he did so, a resident inside shot him in the leg. Paramedics came to the apartment around 1 a.m. and then took the suspect to University Hospital in stable condition. It is unclear what charges he will face, if any.
From Detroit, Michigan;
A 23-year-old CPL holder shot a 19-year-old man at his home Thursday morning around 12:30 a.m., when the 19-year-old man tried to rob the 23-year-old man while selling his iPhone, police said.
The incident happened on the 1600 block of Calvert.
Four men, including the 19-year-old, arrived at the house for the iPhone sale, when one of them pulled a gun and attempted to rob the home owner.
The home owner pulled his own gun out and shot the 19-year-old in the thigh. The four men then jumped into a car and drove to a hospital, where the man who was shot was dropped off.
The condition of the 19-year-old is not known.

They trying to tell us that kicking in the door of a stranger is now OK in San Antonio? Yeah, can see that it might be unclear what all charges he is facing, but “if any?” Maybe that is just wishful thinking on the part of the “journalist.”

I’ve seen them trespass, then resist arrest when a cold-front was due just so they’d be somewhere with three hots and cot.
iPhone and smartphone sales seem to have a criminal history included. Good reason to not have them.
