Abdulahi Hasan Sharif, Edmonton terrorist, was ordered out of the US

| October 4, 2017

According to CBC, Abdulahi Hasan Sharif was ordered out of the US by an immigration judge in 2011. Instead, he went to Canada in 2012. This last weekend, he stabbed a police officer and ran over four pedestrians with a U-Haul truck;

In July 2011, U.S. Customs and Border Protection transferred Abdulahi Hasan Sharif into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at Otay Mesa Detention Center in San Diego, Calif., according to Jennifer D. Elzea, acting press secretary for the ICE office of public affairs.

Two months later, on Sept. 22, 2011, an immigration judge ordered Sharif removed to Somalia. Sharif waived his right to appeal that decision.

But Sharif was released on Nov. 23, 2011, on an ICE order of supervision, “due to a lack of likelihood of his removal in the reasonably foreseeable future,” Elzea said in a statement to CBC News.

Sharif failed to report to the ICE enforcement and removal operations centre on his scheduled date, Jan. 24, 2012.

“Efforts by ERO San Diego to locate him were not successful,” Elzea said.

Sharif had no known criminal history at the time of his dealings with ICE, she said.

Sharif crossed the border into Canada in 2012, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said Monday in Ottawa.

Goodale said Sharif arrived through a “regular port of entry” and obtained refugee status at the time.

Imagine that – you tell an immigrant that we don’t want him here and he decides he doesn’t want to show up for the free ride back to his shithole country. I guess it’s too much trouble to lock him up before his trip back home.

If Obama had a son…

They should airlift him and drop him off the coast of Somalia, if he makes it to dry land against sharks and pirates, he’s free.

Wilted Willy

Chip, the sharks would never get the taste out of their mouths!

Wow, he didn’t show up at the designated time and place. Who’d have thunk?

Any relation to the late Omar Sharif??

RM3(SS)

My last job was with ICE/ERO. If you knew how many we have on Order of Supervision that are flat out criminals you’d be outraged. The problem is that we can’t deport people back to their home countries unless we have diplomatic relations with them and for most countries they agree to take the Alien back. Cuba, Iran, Somalia etc there’s simply no way to get their governments approval to deport them.
For everyone that says “just drop them from an airplane”don’t think we wouldn’t love to do that, but we don’t get to make the rules. Even countries we do have relations with I.E. China will sometimes refuse to allow us to send a criminal back to them. Those kind of issues are supposed to be handled at the State Dept level, but SecState usually can’t be bothered by it. The whole immigration thing is a mess, mostly because our elected officials would rather talk and not do what we elected them to do.

Ret_25X

Step 1: load C-17 with bad guys (remove seats first to increase capacity)
Step 2: Fly to “home” nation
Step 3: Lower ramp while in flight
Step 4: Drop onto “home” nation from about 2500 feet AGL
Step 5: Repeat as necessary to work off the “backlog”
Step 6: include the “activists” in the loads as morale boosters

Problem solved

RM3(SS)

Um hum. You get Congress and President to ok it and I can guarantee ERO would have no problem with it.

MSGT_RET

As a former DO with ICE/ERO myself, I concur.

MSGT_RET

In 2007, I was attempting to secure a travel document for a Chinese felon that we were trying to return to his home country.

The Chinese consular officer refused to issue the the travel document arguing that the knucklehead became a criminal after he came to the US and why would China want him back there?

We ended up detaining him for a few months and then, you guessed it…Order of Supervision.

How about we just post sentries on the embassy of the “donating” country, and toss the offender over the wall?

I suppose that does require an embassy, though. Pity.

yeah, “international incident”, “bad press”, “Congress would have the Vapors”, “oh the humanity” etc, etc. etc.

A man can dream, right?

RM3(SS)

Exactly MSGT_Ret, and even if we had the room to detain those with a Final Order, the Supreme Court ruled that was a no. see Zadvydas v. Davis.
I’ve seen some Cubans with A files that fill two mail tubs, still out there doing their thing, reporting once in a while when they’re bored. We used to get a break in California when they enforced the 3 strikes law, some of them would screw up enough to get 25 to life.
Not any more with MoonBeam Brown in power.

RM3(SS)

ERO inside joke-
What’s the most beautiful thing to find on an Alien with a final order of removal?
An unexpired passport. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Graybeard

Maybe we can get someone in Turkey to make some up for us…

MSGT_RET

Isn’t that the truth! That unexpired passport was like gold.

MSGT_RET

I did my time in the Baltimore Field Office. Regarding room, I remember the primary function of the Supervisory Immigration Enforcement Agents was trying to find the ever elusive “bed space”.

RM3(SS)

I worked SFO FugOps. Our contract jail was 120 miles away in Yuba City. it was always a rush to get them back to the office before Wackenhut bus departed. Otherwise we had to try and book them into a local facility or drive them there. Bedspace was always such a premium, VR’s were given out as much as possible.

Rosalee Adams

Surprised this pile of bilge did not slip back into the US, specifically to take residency in MI, from Canada.
Agree with ChipNSA about dropping him from an aircraft

Can’t imagine why he wouldn’t want to go back to Mogadishu, can you?

While I definitely agree with everyone above, Jonn, you wrote “Sharif was ordered out of the US by an immigration judge in 2011. Instead, he went to Canada in 2012” but to be fair, he did leave the US…. POS that he is… it sure seems that if we can’t send these pukes back to whatever third world shithole they come from, we damn sure shouldn’t let them in the door..

NHSparky

Wait a second. Didn’t Trudeau throw open his borders?

william bennett

This is an example of why these kind of jerks will never Americans make. No respect for anything, no less our laws.

One step further. This is why we will never control them—we do not have the balls to do it. Simply put, we spend more time, money, energy and police support guaranteeing them their rights than we expend protecting mine. What don’t we understand, I belong here, they don’t.

It is time we figured out what is going on and fix it.

Roh-Dog

this may be hell, there is no logic here

Foreign official: “No.”

Troops: “Today you have a choice of these 5 dirtbags, or 5 of our finest 500-pound bombs, the Air Force having the on-call today.”

Foreign official: “uhhhh.. we welcome our national back into the fold of his homeland….”

So, someone who has a DWI can’t get into Canada, but this guy can? I guess sharing info about him was racist.

CB Senior

Hey he is just committing the Terrorist Act Canadians do not want to do.

Roh-Dog

I bet he was getting paid ‘a living wage’ while doing so, it’s only fair.
If only he had better employment he probably would’t have turned to terrorism.
It’s the Canadians fault for not being tolerant enough.
It’s just him expressing his culture and criticism of that is racist.
