” There was a reason for Franklyn being elected a third time
He pulled the country out of the Great Depression which was a very low time in our history, created jobs for millions with his infrastructure programs, created social programs like Social Security and the New Deal which benefitted the little people. He first kept us out of WWII and then went in and won WWII. So it’s understandable that when the country is well on it’s way to the most prosperous time in its history people would re-elect him again.
Trump, on the other hand is dead set on destroying all of it. Everything he touches is the opposite of the Midas touch. It all turns to putrid rot and sinks us lower into economic doom. Why would anyone not interrupt his mid stream?”
Why…wait…what?! You… I can’t even. I f*cking hate this planet.
Wonder what Japanese Americans thought of FDR? The mind ponders…
I wonder when these illiterate dopes will learn to spell.
“sinks us lower into economic doom”
These people have to be psychotically detached from reality. The DJIA closed on Friday 9/1/17 at 21,987.56, a modest rise of 39.46. Aside from the influence of Harvey, which shuttered the tank farms and refineries temporarily, fuel prices really aren’t up a lot. $2.55/gal at the pump for regular is NOT the $4.54/gal that we saw in 2012, during the Obama administration.
These people are out of their tiny little minds. They need some serious doses of reality, which probably wouldn’t work at all anyway.
Yeah, my IRA has gained 33% since November – I want more of this “economic doom”.
Word.
I want 7 years and 4 months worth of the doomiest doom to doom our doom.
Heehee! My grocery receipts are lower now than they were 18 months ago. I can REALLY stretch that dollar!
My girl friend was able to get a job! If THAT ain’t a market indicator I don’t know what is.
If this economic doom keeps going for a while, I may be able to retire early and comfortably.
Why,the nation could be facing the catastrophe of energy independence!
What have labor unions ever done for me? Not a damned thing except block access to the building where I worked for an entirely different company. Oh, yeah – labor unions were not responsible for Social Security and Medicare. SSRI was FDR’s gig to get himself re-elected during the Depression, and Medicare was LBJ’s tax on you and me to pay for your parents’ and the welfare crowd’s medical needs. That was part of LBJ’s Great War on Poverty, along with Medicaid. July 30, 1965 – mark that date and burn a photo of LBJ in your trash can.
In a previous life, as a mercenary project manager stuck in DC, we were subjected to the tender mercies of the Federal employee’s union…they were very cross with me and my brethren; we were taking up the same square footage in our office area as a team-lead level developer. Then they got mad and filed a grievance because our computer hardware, monitors and e-size plotter was better than theirs (all of which were purchased by our vendor for our use on the job site). The grievances were handled by piling four of us into one cubicle along with our plotter. We still got the job done despite this petty garbage…and that was just one of many stories…remind me to tell you about the parking kerfuffle we got into at the IRS’s New Carrollton office building. Unions…fighting the good fight. /rolleyes
I’m waiting for the teachers’ union to go on strike now that school is opening. They are so predictable.
Just glad I can keep in touch online with what goes on in Chicago, even though I don’t live there any more.
Always remember a Kroger driver who was ‘picketing’ during a Teamster’s strike in about 1970 – when I asked him why the union was out he said ‘becouse the folks driving Chevies want GTOs.’
(Not this $#!# again) Tucked away in the 2nd cartoon, is a little liberal girl holding a sign saying “Equal Pay For Equal Work”.
The ignorant irony makes my head hurt.
