Wednesday morning feel good stories
From McAlester, Oklahoma;
“Upon arrival, officers found that the homeowner…had shot at an unknown person attempting to break into the residence,” McAlester Police officer Shawn Delana said in a probable cause affidavit.
When Delana arrived at the residence, he observed the homeowner had an eight-foot privacy fence around the entire back yard, with both gates latched from the inside.
He also saw that a window screen had been taken off a back window and leaned against the residence.
Police conducted an interview with the homeowner, who said he had earlier seen a man walk past a window at the back of the home, according to the affidavit.
“(The homeowner) also stated he grabbed a pistol and went to the doorway of the master bedroom,” Delana said in the affidavit. The homeowner went on to state that he could see a figure shadowing against the blinds and could hear someone talking, leading him to believe more than one person was outside the window, police said.
“(The homeowner) stated the figure continued moving outside the window and (the homeowner) feared they were coming into the residence through the window,” Delana said in the affidavit. The homeowner told police he began firing at the windows, according to Delana.
Meanwhile, McAlester Police officers Blake Palmer and Jonothan O’Dell responded to report that a man, later identified as Wimmer, arrived at the MRHC emergency room a short time after the shots were fired.
From DeKalb County, Georgia, the good news that a homeowner has been cleared of wrongdoing in regards to the shooting death of the cross-dressing burglar from yesterday’s stories.
From Tulsa, Oklahoma;
Officers responded to the home near 21st and Sheridan around 11:30 p.m. Monday. Police say a woman smashed out a window with a hammer and then threw the hammer at a woman sitting in a bedroom. The victim then got a handgun and fired a shot out the window toward the prowler and scared her off, according to police.
Police say they responded to the same home earlier in the evening after two females approached the victim at her home. The suspects told the victim they were looking for her daughter and threatened to harm her, according to police.
