Friday morning feel good stories
From Somers, New York, a retired police officer encountered an intruder in his home;
Leggio retreated back upstairs and grabbed his gun, which is equipped with a green laser sight.
“I put [the laser] right on his chest and said, ‘Who do you know?’” Leggio said.
The man reportedly asked for a friend named “Sean,” and Leggio responded, “You have the wrong house.”
“Right away I knew he wasn’t violent, so to speak,” Leggio said. “I was able to make that quick decision, because obviously I’m trained. But he’s still a threat, he’s still in my house, he still had a [pocket knife] on him.”
Leggio ordered the man to put his hands on his head and walk slowly, backwards, toward the front door. Once outside, he ordered the man to throw down his knife and his wallet. Using an old set of handcuffs, Leggio detained the man until police arrived.
“While it seems like he came into the wrong home, technically, he came into the right home,” Leggio said. “Had he went into someone else’s home, they could have shot him. He’s lucky.”
From Henrico, Virginia;
Police say officers responded to the 8800 block of Three Chopt Road for a shooting. When they arrived, two men with gunshot wounds were located. Both were transported to the hospital. Taivon Maquell Fox, 19, died from his injuries.
Police say one of the tenants at the apartment shot Fox and the other suspect.
In Nova Scotia, Canada, burglars were nice enough to bring guns for the law-abiding residents to shoot one of the crooks;
[Police] reported that after three men with firearms had entered a home, two male victims struggled with them. A firearm was seized by the victims and several shots were fired. The suspects then fled.
A 25-year-old male was treated for non-life threatening injuries and is in police custody. The other two suspects have not been found.
In Palestine, Texas;
Officers made contact with Carlos Scott, 33, who had a gunshot wound to the foot. Witnesses on the scene claimed a homeowner shot Scott after Scott threatened the homeowner and aggressively charged him. An officer, who is trained emergency medical technician, attempted to treat Scott’s injury, but Scott spat on the officer.
Scott was arrested for Public Intoxication and Harassment of a Public Servant. Scott had his injuries treated at Palestine Regional Medical Center and was later transported to Anderson County Jail.
Chief Tango sends a link from Sanford, North Carolina;
Deputies said a woman at 320 S. Plank Road grabbed her pistol after hearing somebody jiggling her door knob just before 11 a.m.
When the woman answered the door, Bryant Latrelle Martin, 29, of 281 S. Plank Road, attempted to force his way into the house and got into a struggle with the homeowner, authorities said.
The woman told deputies that she fired several shots at Martin, who ran from the front porch.
Authorities said Martin sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Guns in Nova Scotia? Does Trudy Trudeau know about this?
It’s OK, the crooks had the guns. Thank heavens that the citizens didn’t have guns of their own.
Taivon Maquell Fox? I wonder, does Black Lies Matter care that Taivon is DRT?
We have the pistols, but since we are all Canadians here, lets flip for them, eh?
With that bit of sarcasm out of the way, when I was going through AOBC, two of the instructors were Canadian SSG’s who were teaching us young and dumb 2LT’s how to be gunners. Extremely professional and dedicated tankers.
“….spat on the officer.”
Fine. You want to be that way, bleed out. Save the taxpayers some money.
Funny, the article doesn’t mention any additional dental work required. Palestine cops must be more restrained than the norm. (fyi, that’s one of those oddly pronounced places… like KAY-ro Illinois isn’t KYE-ro, Palestine is pronounced Pal-us-teen, not Pal-us-tyne. Go figger.)
Henrico, Virginia:

Yes. {eye roll} I’m surprised none of the mothers went on record how their baby sons never did nothing bad, they didn’t deserve to die.
So Cairo is pronounced “Kay-roh?” Go figure.
…I knew Louisville is pronounced “Loo-uh-vul.” Sort of. It’s hard to spell phonetically. 🙂 It’s very nearly only two syllables.
My Uncle Jake studied medicine in Egypt, he was a “Cairo practor” Nova Scotia-Is that where nova lox and bagels come from?
In Battle Creek Michigan, the center of town is known as The Rice Krispy Square.
