Alexander Kudla, VA LPN stole thousands from vet

| June 20, 2017

The Department of Justice reports that Alexander Kudla, a former licensed practical nurse who worked for Wilmington Veterans Affairs Medical Center was sentenced in Federal court for stealing more than $22,000 from a disabled veteran.

A VAMC patient requested help withdrawing funds from an ATM due to the patient’s physical limitations. Kudla abused his position at the VAMC as well as the trust of the victim by withdrawing funds from the victim’s bank account for Kudla’s personal use on over 40 occasions between February 2015 and July 2015. As part of his sentence, the District Court ordered Kudla to pay full restitution of $22,320 to the victim, with $4,000 due immediately.

Kudla is no longer employed with the VAMC or with the Department of Veterans Affairs. “We take allegations of employee misconduct very seriously, especially when those allegations are related to the welfare of our Veterans. We are grateful to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecuting this case and we will continue to be vigilant, ensuring Veterans receive care and treatment in a safe and caring environment,” said Vince Kane, director of the Wilmington VA Medical Center.

Yeah, well, Kudla didn’t get any jail time – he got three years on probation and he has to pay the veteran back

While this POS deserves to rot in a cell, not knowing any details of it, he may have gotten probation, so that he could work and repay the Vet faster, if this is the case, I’m not unhappy about it, as long as they ensure it happens.

What the fuck is it with felonious VA employees and no jail time for their misdeeds? Seems like they get off with probation and restitution instead of a long vacay with new friends (Bubba, Thor, Julio and Mr. “Tiny”)?

I’m guessing the old saying about “if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime” doesn’t apply to VA employees.

Graybeard

There had better be some pretty good enforcement of the repayment plan. Something tells me it’ll be like getting the fines out of a certain never-a-CPO lousy pilot we all know and loath.

Unenforced punishments reinforce wrong behavior. I’d like to see him caned as well.

Green Thumb

I am surprised this clown was not moved to the other side of the country and promoted.

Sorry Button! Close to the truth,Fired at one and hired by VA Outpatient clinic as a second chancer . Most likely Joe

Make sure the vet gets paid back first, THEN work this guy over with a lead pipe (figuratively).

Skyjumper

So did the State of Virginia or the VA revoke his LPN license or was his license put on probation?

Scumbag!

Whatever happened to, what did they call it, work release? Where residents of the gray bar hotel left the jail for work every morning and returned after work. All of their off-duty time was spent in jail. If it worked for the jail, why couldn’t it work in the prisons?

Graybeard

It would be just and right to make such criminals work through the day at a paying job, and have to pay not only the restitution to the victim, but the cost of court and confinement.

But the libtards would never accept that.

Skyjumper

Personally, I think the court should have included in their ruling, that part of Alexander Kudla’s sentence would have included the daily removal, cleaning and reinserting the catheter of a certain who-shall-not-be-named disbarred attorney who lives in Florida.

But, that’s just me.

Speaking of which:

1)Final Pretrial Conference set for 8/25/2017 at 09:30 AM in Ft. Myers Courtroom 5D before Judge Sheri Polster Chappell

2)Jury Trial term set for 9/5/2017 in Ft. Myers Courtroom 5D before Judge Sheri Polster Chappell

Very interesting read. I wonder what he’ll try next. How much do you want to bet it involves charges of judicial misconduct against the judge for ruling against him because she’s part of the American Legion national conspiracy.

Graybeard

One wonders about the internal musings of the Honorable Judge Sheri Polster Chappell when she has to deal with the never-a-CPO who crashed his daughters(?) airplane.

If she is able to maintain a professional demeanor she is exemplary in every way.

Thunderstixx

OUCH !!!!
Kind of like a bareassed ride at the end of a rope through the chollas somewhere up in the Comstock !!!

Silentium Est Aureum

Female judge?

Oh, he’s gonna LOVE that.

Silentium Est Aureum

And just read the doc. Epic legal bitch slap on Bernutless.

Ex-PH2

I am enthralled by the use of “DENIED” in bold caps.

Graybeard

That must have made him whimper.

Or maybe she’s trying to get him to bust a sub-cranial artery before she has to listen to him in a courtroom?

Just An Old Dog

I do believe that Bernath has an upcoming appeal on his one year sentence in the Commonwealth of Virginia as well.
He may be in the gray bar hotel and not make it to court in Florida.

The Stranger

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I shouldn’t get so much joy from this, but I am a small and petty man.

JimV

We had a therapist at the VA I volunteer at, who was borrowing money from the patients. He was fired to say the least.

Steal 20 grand and no jail time? FFS what is wrong with our criminal justice system.

I am surprised they prosecuted. Years ago the cutoff was $40,000 for thefts on Federal property. Ft. Bliss was really bad. You could have your car stolen on post by a local and there would be zero prosecution effort unless it was worth more then $40K. Car thefts were out of control there until after 9/11 when they essentially closed the post to outsiders.

David

not to mention the border was literally 5 minutes away, and unless the Mexican border cops saw the theft personally, their orders were to let anyone through (except US cops.)

CPT11A

I spent time at Bliss. It was an open post when I was there in the early 2010s. Nothing pissed the wife and I off more than seeing cars with Chihuahua plates sitting in the PX parking lots. No idea how that shit was allowed, but the CG was an El Pasoan so community outreach was a thing.

MSG Eric

Yeah, I bet that CG had lots of community outreach….to Whorez across the border.

Graybeard

The one time I visited Ft. Bliss I was in El Paso on business in the late 90’s. I picked up a soldier hitchhiking back to camp & drove him in.
I think the only reason I got on base was he was with me, but I thought it odd that I got on at all, not knowing how things worked on military bases at the time.

My beard was still black back then, too.

A Proud Infidel®™

It sucks that he only got probation, here’s hoping they catch him violating it and put him in a PMITA prison.

MSG Eric

I’m guessing he’ll be working to keep paying that all back so he doesn’t have to. But, the kind of work he’ll be doing is a pretty wide swath. Maybe he’ll have to get his dick sucking skills up at some point.

Just An Old Dog

One good thing is that he will never be able to work in the health care industry again.
No facility or hospital will touch him

The Old Maj

He was an LPN so it isn’t as though he were burning a bright career. I wonder if violating his parole means not paying the money back?

MSG Eric

I would hope so. You’d think it would be part of the probation deal, but we shall see.
