Bryan Moles, former Navy Corpsman, arrested in DC
Chief Tango sent us a link of a story about Bryan Moles, a Pennsylvania man who took a scary black rifle and a scary black Glock handgun to DC. Someone tipped off the Secret Service that he might have those weapons in his vehicle and sure enough, he did. They found the guns in plain view in his SUV while it was parked in a hotel parking garage.
In the linked article, Colbert I. King seems upset that Moles is getting all of the attention and the other guns confiscated by police in the District since then get no press. Mr King, should recognize that almost two thousand guns get confiscated by the police in DC every year – every year since guns were effectively banned in DC in 1974, according to police statistics.
But, back to Moles. WTOP reports that these guns were taken from his home in Pennsylvania (the SKS makes an appearance again this week);
In another Washington Post link, Moles told police that he was in DC to talk to President Trump. He seems to be a Trump supporter.
Bryan Moles, 43, must report to the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center by 4 p.m. Monday after he told police that he had traveled to the District — with an AR-15 rifle, a handgun and more than 90 rounds of ammunition in his 2017 black BMW — to meet with President Trump.
In charging papers, prosecutors said Moles said he came to Washington to “bring down big medicine business and big pharmacy” and did not plan to leave 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. until he saw the president.
Moles is a licensed physician and former Navy corpsman. He told police, charging documents state, that he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, had refused medication and was treating himself with marijuana, to which he was formerly addicted.
According to the same Washington Post article, Moles served as a hospital corpsman from 1992 – 1996 at a hospital at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and that he was self-medicating his PTSD with weed.
Whatever is going on, he’s sitting in jail after he left a court-ordered stay at a Georgia VA facility for an evaluation.
A friend of Moles’s for 25 years — Lisa Della Ratta, 44, a nurse in Gulf Breeze, Fla. — has described him as a hardcore Trump supporter who grew up with weapons and might have been unaware of the District’s strict gun laws.
Moles said little in court Friday. U.S. Magistrate Judge Robin M. Meriweather assigned him a federal defender and set his next hearing for June 21. Moles told the court he was suspended from his hospital job….
If you’re confused, don’t feel alone. I don’t know what happened at Camp Lejeune 1992-1996 that might have made Moles suffer PTSD, I guess PTSD is just the go-to excuse for smoking weed these days.
In other articles, Moles claims that he was taking the gun to a gunsmith to be reworked, but that doesn’t explain why he would need 90 rounds of ammunition or the handgun. Whatever he was up to, I’m glad he’s not up to it now.

hmm…he complained that he got some sort of head injury in May.
Isn’t this story about 2 weeks old? Tip from a hotel, weapons found in vehicle…either that or I’m never staying in a DC hotel again.
Why would you want to in the first place?
When staying in the National Capital Region, be sure to stay at The Americana Hotel in Pentagon City. If you find a dead hooker under your bed, your next stay is free.
So somebody needs to check the records and see if Psulie-Boi Wickre checked in with, “female guest.”
As far as PTSD….my guess if it’s in any way probable, it’s because while stationed at NHCL he was an augmentee and deployed in some capacity, which is not all that unusual.
or he may just be FOS
Anybody who is knowledgeable with guns, gun laws, etc., knows how draconian DC laws are, unless you’re a liberal NBC talking head.
And yeah, real fucking bright of this guy to pull shit like this. No chance the gun-grabbers will try to paint the rest of the law-abiding gun owners just like this assclown, noooooo….
If he said he was a Democrat, he probably wouldn’t even be in jail.
Have you been to Jacksonville NC? Maybe he meant that he caught an STD at the Thunderbird Lounge.
CLNC home of Respiratory Syphilis!
The mosquitos were really bad there during that time. That and chiggars. Oh and I did see a huge cotton mouth in one of the TA’s.
Don’t forget about those pesky brown recluse
No black widow?
More like this type of Black Widow.
(Phildo-style!)
Obviously this is a certain North Florida MC.
Can anyone pick out Phil Monkress?
Or the Driftwood.
Or Tobies.
Or The Brown Bagger.
Or any of those old ramshackle bars (that seemed to change their names/owners every six months or so) across the road from the Camp Geiger gate along old Highway 17.
PTSD from the Battle of the Golden Corral…
Holy crap, does that bring back memories. The “Golden Trough”. You could get a fork in the back of your hand if you tried for the last piece of fried chicken.
Call me skeptical but the Bryan Moles that lives in Edinboro Pa is not listed in the SCRA data base for military service from any year 91-95.
He does have several arrests for Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication and Providing False Identification and things along those lines.
I bet his FOIA will be interesting.
Yeah, his FB says FMF Corpsman, but nothing among his pictures on the page show any uniform pics or even any affiliation with serving.
Took a while but we found him in SCRA

It does not wish to open.
thanx Obama
thanx Al Gore
Facebook pics show him in uniform and his multiple certificates of achievement in the Navy.
Multiple certificates? That is a joke. He certainly was not considered a decorated veteran on active duty and was average st best as a naval reservist stationed in Erie Pennsylvania.
Mr. SAT really pulled a boner. “Self-medicating with weed”… I remember calling people like that back in High School “pot heads”.
When my brother got caught with pot in high school, he should have told Poppa Stone that he was self medicating. I don’t think the Old Man would buy it, but he had nothing else to offer in defense.
If I had tried that with my Dad (a retired BRCM surface warfare type), I would have had a size 10 D Wellington boot up the keister for starters…
Dude reminds me of that weirdo a few years back who landing his gyrocopter on the capitol lawn…supposedly to make a political statement
That was a drone, I think. It made quite a statement…how easy such landing is, to do.
No, some dingbat postal employee from Florida flew his gyrocopter through D.C. and landed on the Capitol lawn.

I see. Point taken, Hack Stone.
Actually both occurred, the same year. https://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/27/us/white-house-drone.html
I’m sure this isn’t the law we’ll see of this, I just wonder what kind of spin the libidiot media is going to put on this? Sounds to me like that guy has a stripped out gearbox!
I deployed to Somalia in 92-93 as a Marine so there was stuff going on then but it will be interesting to see if he participated in anything.
Everyone I talk to that is a Veteran lately has caught the PTSD and I feel like a slacker. I note on his FB page he is a K9 Dog trainer …wonder if he has a leather vest with patches and a motorcycle?
Don’t feel bad. I don’t have teh PTSD either, although I came pretty close one time over a glass of chuhi in the Honch once.
But Macho Grande? Yeah, I’ll never get over Macho Grande.
Surely you can’t be serious?
Stop calling me Shirley…
Are you going into Airplane Mode?
Somalia was all the hot action* I could think of during that time frame; I didn’t catch PTSD either so I guess it’s not infectious—I was CONUS during my entire term, but I had a roommate when I was end the Reserves who started talking about the hinterlands of Somalia after he got little drunk one night. I thought Uncle Sam’s MisGuided Children missed that one, just the once; guess not.
*hot action as oppose to Rwanda (244 QM, who got back when I was still in AIT) or Jones Town clean up (my sergeant caught that one), which could probably furnish a few nightmares. She only mentioned the smell.
While we were deployed in Okinawa in support of ODS/S with 2/23 a company was sent to PI for response to the eruption of Mt Pinatubo. One hundred times worse was the duty pulled by another company-sent to Bangladesh to recovered bodies in the Bay of Bengal after an huge storm swept thousands off the tiny islands there. Utter horror. (Government there leaves ’em there to gauge how bad the storm was…)
The VA automatically diagnoses anyone coming back now with PTSD and your required to have mental health evaluations.
Bryan was active duty for 4 years…2 as a hospital corpsman in Cherry Point, the other two at Camp Lejune. The 10 other years was as a naval reservist until he graduated medical school. Not deployed to best of my knowledge. PTSD? Hardly!
Did the water do It
PTSD does lurk in the water doesn’t
With Baby’s tears too
Come to think of it, Lejeune (assuming this individual was ever there) did have some issues with some of the water supply being contaminated.
Did the contaminant kill the “leetle gray” cells? ‘Cuz this dude must have lost about 30+ points off his IQ.
Yeah, my name is in the pool, so I get newsletters about it and the occasional official notice about this or that. Haven’t seen any PTDS attributed to the contaminants as of yet. lol
I have personally never made a claim.
umm…PTDS…yeah…meant PTSD
I was derpy long before getting stationed in CLNC
what a co-inkydink, got home today and there was another CLNC Historic Drinking Water newsletter in my mailbox.
8 diseases under the new rules…PTSD still isn’t one. Wish they would just pay off my student loans.
Does the photo of the collection seem a bit light on magazines and ammunition? Usually when they photograph a pile of confiscated arms, the ammo and mag pile are included. (often spread out to increase the impact)
That picture arranged that way, to me, says “non-shooting collector”, not “Prepping for Red Dawn III”.
Also, “serious bong habit”.
“They found the guns in plain view in his SUV”
Stupid. He was going to lose the guns anyway, so at least the police saved him the cost of smashed windows and kept the guns out of the hands of criminals.
Word
That’s what I was thinking to
Crooks see that pile of toys in a car and think “Bait car! Immina be on teevee!”
“Those guns, however, are in parts of the city where the political and social elites don’t live, work or play. Those guns rarely make the news — unless one goes off in somebody’s face or is recovered by the police.
Otherwise they share a silent, deadly coexistence with the community.”
If the guns are silent how they are deadly again?
Forgot to put Beano in the Ammo?
Maybe if they secretly mate with silencers. Every progtard knows gunz don’t need human intervention to kill. They live in “deadly co-existence with the community.” They all want to put their threaded barrels into a sweet, sweet silencer.
Huh??
Yeah.
Another moron.
Not surprising, that the WaPo is offering a month’s subscription for 99¢. Newsweek was sold for $1.00, now the WaPo is available even cheaper?
Then again, no one reads the WaPo, which explains why it’s available for a month for less than the cost of a Burger King Whopper.
Exactly ^^^^
No surprise to me, IMHO they’re about as politically impartial as The Village Voice, ditto with the Nooh Yawk Times.
Isn’t WaPo pronounced ‘wapper’, as in ‘fish wapper’?
Just asking.
Must have been non-combat PTSD. Who knows what % he was rated at? He could have only been 30% or less so it won’t work as a defense in court.
The PTSD diagnosis does not hinge on combat in any way. There’s no reason PTSD not involving combat would somehow be capped at 30%.
This dude has some serious weed paraphernalia. He needs to move to Tokefornia or one of the other weed legal states after he gets out of the poundem-in-the-ass lockup. I am also shocked that he has one of them scary single action pistolas.
I guess it is all self prescribed. At least he got over his addiction to marijuana…. by smoking a metric ton of marijuana.
