Williams: Judge Obama on his performance

| January 21, 2009

Juan Williams in this morning’s Wall Street Journal, calls on the media to judge Obama solely on his performance;

The same media people invested in boosting a black man to the White House as a matter of history have set very high expectations for him. When he disappoints, as presidents and other human beings inevitably do, the backlash may be extreme.

Several seasons ago, when Philadelphia Eagle’s black quarterback Donovan McNabb was struggling, radio commentator Rush Limbaugh said the media wanted a black quarterback to do well and gave Mr. McNabb “a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve.” Mr. Limbaugh’s sin was saying out loud what others had said privately.

There is a lot more at stake now, and to allow criticism of Mr. Obama only behind closed doors does no honor to the dreams and prayers of generations past: that race be put aside, and all people be judged honestly, openly, and on the basis of their performance.

Wiiliams as much admits that Obama was elected on the basis of his race, his lack of qualifications, experience, demeanor and his arrogance would have automatically disqualified him for office in the eyes of the Washington elite and kingmakers. His single overarching trait was his skin color – making Obama the affirmative action president.

Williams makes the plea that we be able to criticize Obama in public for his missteps, but it seems like a smokescreen to me. The liberal elite in the media could never bring themselves to criticize a Black man for not living up to expectations, let alone one of the people they’ve anointed as leader of the Democrat Party. Hell, they defended Jimmy Carter, the bumbling idiot, right up until today.

Sorry, Juan, all of your pleading won’t get a rational or reasoned criticism from the media on Obama. In fact, the first time you try, Juan, you’ll get run out of town. After all, they’ll point out that you’re not a real Black man anyway. You were born in Colon, Panama, of Panamanian parents, so your blood line never suffered American slavery. I’m just sayin’.

Maybe I’m not that bright, but wasn’t the message from Martin Luther King Jr. that someone like Juan Williams wouldn’t HAVE to make that kind of statement?

MLK is rolling in his grave, pondering what part of his speech in DC was misunderstood.

The question remains: Has Obama truly broken MLK’s ‘Dream’?

I respect the Office of the Presidency and you’ll never hear me utter that Obama is not my President. That’s moonbat talk! I did not vote him and stand diametrically opposed to him on almost every issue, he is now the 44th President of the United States and he is my President.

With that said, the lefties will reap what they sowed with their incessant BDS over the past 8 years. Do they really think we conservatives are going to sit on our hands and remain silent when Obama eff’s up? Get real! The man is going to start marching off the wrong foot on day 1 of his Presidency today, by signing the Executive Order to close Gitmo. He will be declaring war on American Catholics and Christians if he signs the so-called “Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA) as he promised Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

I will not remain silent when it comes to Obama’s hard-left positions and policy!

“your blood line never suffered American slavery” Um, neither did Obama’s. His dad was Kenyan and his mom was Wonder Bread.

I have taken to listing myself and my children as “African-American” on every form that requests the information. I have come to the decision that it would be untruthful for me to claim otherwise. See, scientists are adamant and have, apparently, DNA proof that everyone alive is descended from a single female who lived in Africa. That makes us all African-American by descent. I’m certainly not going to stand in the way of scientific progress, especially now that it seems me and jesse and Al are all blood brothers.

I’ve started to claim all the racial preferences I can get, and am daring anyone to deny it to me because I appear to be “white”, though it’s actually more of a pale pinkish-grey colour.. but I digress.

Either race is an artificial construct and shouldn’t count for squat, or I want my “special” benefits.. 🙂

Two can play at that game…..
