Alexandria Gleason Morrow passes
Bobo sends the sad news that another member of the military has passed in a non-combat death, Alexandria Gleason Morrow was a 25-year-old mother of two children and a service member of the Air Force variety and she was serving in Jordan;
Her mother says she went off to the military two days after graduating high school. Gleason Morrow told her mother that if she couldn’t fly a plane, she’d do everything she could to protect the pilots.
Lt. Kip Sumner of Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho said, “She died from injuries sustained from performing maintenance duties down-range, during non-combat operations.” Sumner could not provide more details and said Gleason Morrow’s death remains under investigation.
From TWC News;
The Navy featured Morrow in a 2011 You Tube video where she explained her role as a weapons loader while serving in Afghanistan.
“I like that my job makes a difference. I like knowing that I did my part. I made sure that bomb got loaded the right way and that when it’s released from that jet, it’s going to do its job and end up saving lives,” she said.
Morrow leaves behind her husband and two children.
She was currently assigned to the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing out of Southwest Asia.

Rest In Peace, another taken far too young…
May God’s comfort be with her husband and children, who will not understand why Mommy is not coming home.
I pray they grow up proud of her.
May God grant her peace.
Rest now Airman and may God comfort your family and friends.
What so many civilians miss…
Service brings danger during war and peace.
Rest in Peace.

Yikes…so many ways to go just doing your job. We had a guy killed when he accidentally set off a CO2 flooding system in a paint locker while working alone. Its job is to smother the fire, but somehow he set off the system which automatically shuts off the ventilation as well. He must have panicked when he heard the alarm which gives you 20 seconds to clear the space because the hatch was only partially dogged because of heavy seas. RIP SK3 Carmichael and Airman Gleason. May the Good Lord protect all those who serve today all over the world.

Be well in Valhalla, Warrior Lass; you’ve earned the right to be there…
To reach out, and touch the face of God.
Rest well, zoomie.
“maintenence duties down range…” does NOT sound like an easy way to die (shudder…..)
Rest In Peace Airman Gleason.
Rest in Peace, Airman Morrow.
Rest in Peace, Alexandria. May the wind be always at your back.
I hope the investigation finds the cause of the the accident, and takes action to make it less likely to happen again. It’s small comfort to those left behind, I know, but unfortunately it is sometimes the only way we fix things.
Rest in Peace, brave Airman. May God watch over your family.
So very sad. Words are so inadequate.
RIP
Unless the feeling is unique to me, this isn’t just another loss of the sort we are far too accustomed to learning about. Maybe it’s just me, but this is different. She’s a Mom. Try as I might to see her as an airman, a warrior, a whatever, I see her as a Mom of two kids who no longer have her. It’s a special kind of pain.
“…told her mother that if she couldn’t fly a plane, she’d do everything she could to protect the pilots.”
Hero.
RIP Airman.
Condolences to the family and friends.

Rest in peace. With a young family this is so sad.
I wish the article had given her rank. Enlisting in 2009 means she is most likely a Staff Sergeant at least.
She is also proof that not all millenials are special snowflakes. Gives us hope for the republic.
So sad. We sometimes forget that just being down range is dangerous and can cost you your life. Faulty contractors and electrical wiring cost several USMC their lives while they showered in OIF. jack failed and crushed a young Marine mechanic while were in Helmand. Heart breaker, never forget it.
Just remembered I joined USAF 50 yrs ago today.
Was 1967, my dad said to drive to the USAF base several miles away and ask for CWO5 XXX in ADMIN bldg. I was clueless. At 3 PM I came home with a green ID card and told to come back at 0800 in a month and they’d fly us all to Lackland AFB for basic. At 18 I just did what I was told ! I recall Jerry Mathers (“Beaver Cleaver”) on my plane (C-97) and throwing up his box lunch CAPT Bones
nice. I was Navy, but same time. The Beave’ .., that’s funny.., no ma’, no pa’ . Thanks!
Rest In Peace.
RIP, Airman Morrow. Well take it from here.
