There is an Answer for These Things
Ace has the movie of the IDF uncovering what appears to be an old Soviet anti-aircraft gun cleverly hidden in a mosque. Whis is of course, as Ace notes, a war crime and renders all protections for the mosque invalid.
I shouldn’t say “mosque.” The Geneva Conventions define a mosque with an anti-aircraft cannon in it as a “permitted military target.”
There is no question that this is a war crime and that the mosque loses its protections under these circumstances. But let’s talk remedies; what should be done in cases like this?
I realize that I have never been accused of being an appeaser and have even on occasion been called “savage” on my recommendations for dealing with terrorists. I will try not to disappoint.
My view is that by allowing this Mosque to become a military target, the elders of this congregation bare a huge amount of responsibility and should thusly be a significant part of the solution.
Sometimes being part of the solution is not pleasant.
Step one is very simple. Raze the Mosque. Make sure to use enough boom-boom to render it reduced to small managable pieces.
Next, round up all of the leaders of the Mosque and local elected officials who are in office only because of these terror supporters.
These gentlemen should then receive a fair hearing by a military tribunal headed by say, a recently wounded Infantry Corporal. Oh and a Corporal whose family has suffered from these terrorists, recently received a “Dear Jacob” letter, got “peered” in the mountain Ranger Camp and has had a case of the raw ass for a week.
After about twenty minutes and a smoke break, that docket should be just about cleared. Give another 15 minutes for the executions and I think this whole issue is fairly well dealt with.
This should be repeated at every Mosque that is guilty of such actions, which of course is probably all of them.

You forgot to mention that the executions should be carried out using the AA gun, just to emphasize the point.
Back when the war first started, a friend who is a retired CW3 got hold of a video. We all agree that the boom-boom to kill the terrorists seen running form the mosque was sufficient. Play? Pay.
I’d offer a bit more economic solution. Do the trials first. Then place the guilty parties into the Mosque and blow it up.
Saves time and ammunition, plus the expense of funerals, et al. One easy clean up. Or not.

Photos are not completely clear but it looks like either a ZPU-1 or a KPV. Both are 14.5mm Soviet-era machine gums, useful mainly for anti vehicle or helicopter, and the tripod is clearly for anti-air. Definitely not suitable for Gaza Police (sic) Force.
Ben, I like your suggestion, but to further emphasize the point, line up the miscreants in a tight file and take them all with a single front to back shot. Oh, and don’t forget to grease the bullet with bacon lard. General Pershing would approve.
I am shocked, shocked at your suggested punishment. Where the hell is the Pay per View? Where are the trebuchets to use for the executions? Where is the full service bar and all you can eat hot wings ring side?!?!

Since 2003 I have said that any Mosque found to be in violation should immediately be put on a “no-hit” list, and saved until the next high holy git together. Then send in a grown hog with a half stick of TNT up his kiester with the short fuze sparkling. LMG crews outside could stop any religious deserters. I have had that graphic floating around in my head since the conception of the plan. Let ’em allahu akbar that one.

Mix a liberal interpretation of the ROE, a willing GFC, and a couple of douches attempting to move tactically, at 2am, on a Baghdad street, with weapons in their hands results in 98 deg mist. 30mm cannon fire is not conducive to your future as a terrorist.
