Thursday morning feel good stories

| October 20, 2016

A homeowner in Columbus, Georgia came home and found two strange vehicles in his driveway. Then he saw four people leaving his home, so he loaded his .40 caliber weapon and busted caps on them. They fled in one of the cars and on foot. The police found 17-year-old Brandon Rozier with a head wound and a stolen firearm, so he was arrested but the other three are still in the wind.

On the other side of the state, in Savannah, Georgia a homeowner found two burglars in his home and shot at them. A thirteen-year-old was found nearby with a gunshot wound. His partner is still being hunted by police.

In Lafayette, Indiana, a homeowner shot at an intruder, but police don’t believe the criminal was shot.

In Sheridan, Wyoming, Terry Twomey was DRT after he broke into a home and the homeowner shot him. Police suspect that Twomey was “overserved” at a bar – not that he drank a lot, but it’s the bar’s fault, I’m guessing.

Frankie Cee "In the Clear"

4 incidents of people having to shoot at people who shouldn’t have been in the house. Only one of the Homeowners was proficient enough to hit in the kill zone, leaving one intruder Dead on the Floor. Range time, being able to consistently hit Center Mass goes along with owning firearms.

Columbus and Savannah, both close to Army bases full of infantry and Rangers. Probably not the place to roll the dice and bet that the home you’re breaking into isn’t owned by a well trained gun owner.

All we needed was an incident out of Augusta (Ft Gordon) and we’d have had a trifecta.

Terry from Wyoming needed some liquid courage to go through with his plan. Hold him responsible (a foreign word to todays snowflakes and perpetually butt hurt) not the bar.

Graybeard

At one time (and possibly still) in Texas the bartender and waitresses in a bar were legally responsible to ensure that their patrons didn’t have too many drinks. So, if a guy goes to a bar, gets drunk, drives off and hurts or kills someone, the bartender and waitress(es) are legally liable.

That made for a real interesting court case, when the defendant could only bring the bartender and waitress as witnesses that he wasn’t drunk, and then there was me testifying that he was. (He hit an nearly killed a girl in a Plymouth Sunbird.)

He was found guilty.

I think the Sunbird is in the Pontiac line. There was a time, around 1970, when Plymouth made Superbird. That was in the muscle car era.

Glad you were able to get a conviction.
