Tuesday morning feel good stories

| October 4, 2016

A man in Tulsa, Oklahoma, tried to carjack a vehicle at gun point. The intended victim put up a struggle, took the gun from the crook and shot him twice before he made his escape. The thief ended up in the hospital.

In Wheat Ridge, Colorado, a fellow tried to woo his ex-girlfriend back by shooting her new boyfriend. Unfortunately, the new boyfriend was a better shot and the intruder was DRT (dead right there).

Brenton M. Webster, 29, broke into a home in Godfrey, Illinois, pretending to need to use the bathroom. When he entered the home, he struck the homeowner in the face with his gun. Unfortunately for Webster, the homeowner was armed and shot him in the torso. Webster went to a store in Alton claiming to need an ambulance. When police arrived, he told them he was going to a Craigs List buy and got mugged. He’s currently sitting in jail in St Louis awaiting extradition to Illinois.

Four thieves tried to rob a jewelry store in Conroe, Texas until a shootout occurred between the four thieves and three employees. One of the thugs was DRT (dead right there), the other three are subjects of a manhunt.

In New Orleans, Louisiana, 53-year-old Benny Weary was declared DOT (dead over there) by the coroner after he was shot by an armed homeowner while fleeing an attempted burglary.

Trying to impress your ex by shooting her new friend might make you become very DEAD. And, burglars, carjackers, jewelry thieves, and other wannabe thug types. These are not a very save line of work, you dopes.

“safe” line of work, not “save”… The Cuban Coffee isn’t circulating to my fingers yet.

Some people never learn, “you cannot count on the perpetrator bringing you a gun”!! lol

Bobo

Folks need to stop depending on the bad guys supplying the weapons used to stop them.

OldManchu

Nice. At least each event had a bad guy take some incoming!

Only 1 out of 4, come on people, more range time!

David

Considering that the 4 robbers came in already shooting, I would say nailing one and surviving is pretty decent.

OK, time for today’s “TAH Armed Citizen Batting Line” analysis.

It seems to have been decent day at the plate for the armed citizen’s team. Out of a total of eight perps, three are DRT/DOT; two are in custody after receiving medical treatment for high-speed lead body piercings received under unsanitary field conditions; and the last three are on the run (and likely facing felony murder charges if/when apprehended).

In baseball terms, that’s a 5-for-8 day with 3 HR and 2 other extra-base hits. Daily batting average, .625; daily slugging percentage, a minimum of 2.000. Not too shabby.

Too bad about the new boyfriend in CO getting shot while defending himself and his girlfriend, though. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.

And Bobo’s right. Depending on a perp to provide the weapon you will use to defend yourself is NOT a good idea.

Godfrey, IL. That’s down south, north of St. Louis. Not the real southern end of the state. Some peeples down dere jes’ aint too bright.

In the Conroe incident, according to what I read, the thieves began shooting first, and the employees began returning fire after – which to me means they were ducking & covering first. The owner got out his AK47 and opened up as well. But returning fire while trying to protect customers and oneself is not the best way to ensure pin-point accuracy.
No customers or employees were harmed in the fray.
In 2014 the same store was subject to another attempt – where 5 guys backed up a plumbers truck to the door before they were opened, smashed open the door with a sledgehammer while they were putting out the jewelry, but when an employee grabbed the store shotgun, they unassed the AO at a high rate of speed saying “They’ve got guns.”
I guess word didn’t get to yesterday’s perps.
Hopefully it’ll be more than 2 years before the next attempt.

My favorite gun store has a sign in a place impossible to miss. It depicts a bull’s eye target with a nice clover leaf of bullet holes clustered in the ten ring, with the caption “Nothing in here is worth your life.”

That store owner needs to get one.

Have the bullet holes in the glass framed and mounted in the front window after it is repaired.
Same phrase afterwards.
