Sunday morning feel good stories
A few weeks ago in Asheville, North Carolina, 20-year-old Landon Roberts Henry got into an altercation with a another man inside the other man’s home. The other man shot Roberts who was DRT when the police arrived. An investigation has concluded in the other man’s favor. Police say they won’t haul the guy in for murder because of The Castle Doctrine. “The Castle Doctrine states in NCGS 14-51.3 that “a person is justified in the use of deadly force and does not have a duty to retreat in any place he or she has the lawful right to be.””
Last November in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a grand jury says that Michael Joseph Galvin, 35 didn’t give Robert Carrigan, 54, a two-time convicted burglar, enough of a verbal warning when Galvin caught him burglarizing his garage before he plugged Carrigan and killed him during the commission of a felony. So Mr Galvin is now facing a single count of negligent homicide.

“What are you doing in my home” there, enough verbal warning
“This is going to hurt you a lot more than it’s going to hurt me.”
This Grand Jury is showing the same “those poor idiots need protecting” mentality that forces MacDonalds to put warning labels on their coffee telling people “this is hot, don’t pour it on your own groin”. It should be common sense that if you break into someone else’s house, you’re risking getting shot. Easy solution…don’t try and steal someone else’s shit.
So…. pour it on someone else’s groin??? Lol
Geez…Next thing they’ll be saying is that the Welcome mat was an invitation.
Mr. Galvin should move to another state. You can’t fight idiocy until it dies a natural death.
One of my concerns regarding concealed carry right there. If you are in a life threatening situation, pull your pistol and warn the threat you are brandishing. But it seems you must just pull the weapon and shoot. Then of course you didn’t give sufficient warning. One of my internal debates on the path to a license.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Halt! My pop always said the the first shot serves as a warning to second guy.
Reports coming in live that several LEOs were shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana this AM. Reports say 2 are known to have been killed. Prayers for all involved, especially LEOs.
kinda like the old “Halt! BANG! Police!”….very effective
How could you have missed this story?:
PALM COAST — Authorities say a Florida man fired shots at two late-night “Pokemon Go” players in a car outside his house but no one was injured.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office spokesman James Troiano says in a news release that the homeowner awoke to a noise outside about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and saw a car sitting in the road in front of his house. He told authorities he got a handgun and approached the vehicle.
Troiano says the two teens in the car sped away and the man fired several shots at them.
Later that morning, he says, the mother of one of the teens called the sheriff’s office when they realized the car had a flat tire and several bullet holes in it. She told officials the two had been playing the smartphone app.
The release says the investigation is ongoing.

Daggum Pokeman Go players!
In regards to the Colorado springs case. I hope that Mr. Galvin is able to get things reduced or gets off. He came off as a shoot first, ask questions later kind of guy. I feel that things didn’t need to end that way, I respect the need to defend your home and family , but shooting someone in the back, is a bit much. I don’t own a gun , but I am thinking about it. The D A didn’t consider this to be a “make my day case” or a defending your home matter . I asked for the reading of the law before us.
