Friday morning feel good stories
A homeowner in Peoria, Arizona, gut-shot a masked fellow he caught trying to burn down his house with a blow torch. The wounded criminal hid in the nearby bushes and approached first responders while they were trying to extinguish the flames and rescue one person trapped inside the house fire. Three deputies, a Peoria police officer and a firefighter were treated for smoke inhalation. Everyone is doing fine now, well, except the criminal who has begun down a new path on his journey through life.
In Blacklick, Ohio, a burglary was interrupted by someone with a gun who ventilated Nathaniel Easley. Easley was found by the police in the middle of the street and bleeding profusely from his newly created orifices. He was declared DOT (dead over there) at the the hospital. His accomplices, Khomary Rand, 23 and Deshawn Lovejoy, 26, were arrested and charged with his murder.
An elderly man in Washington County, Missouri, was enjoying a meal in his kitchen when he saw a vehicle pull in the driveway. He went to see who it was when, suddenly, the men started kicking in his door, so he grabbed his gun just as they were coming through the door and he fired what he called a “warning shot”. When the police arrived, they found the criminal laying on the porch, he was DRT (dead right there) with a warning shot through his noggin.

It was a warning shot in story three. It was a warning to the other perps that, yes, you too can be suddenly deaded.
Maybe the old guy was warning him he should turn his life around. Oh well he should have started turning earlier.
Don’t mess with us old folks… We’re grouchy and will kill you… Period…
3 events, 3 bad guys shot. One gut shot n wounded, one shot multiple times and died at the Hospital, and one took a warning shot to the head and died right there. Good work by armed citizens.
The money quote:
“When the police arrived, they found the criminal laying on the porch, he was DRT, (dead right there), with a warning shot through his noggin.”
The story from MO is an example of an acceptable “warning shot”.
Today’s armed citizen batting line: 6 total perps, 2 DRT/DOT, 1 wounded and in custody, 2 not wounded but in custody, and 1 in the wind. That’s the equivalent of 5 for 6 with 2 HR, 1 extra base hit, and 2 singles w/extra base on fielding error. Too bad about the partially successful crime (arson of an occupied dwelling vice murder) and the injured first responders in AZ, though.
The story has been updated to note that one of the victims of the arson fire has died unfortunately.
Damn. That means it was a successful murder.
If I recall correctly AZ still has the death penalty. In this kind of case, it’s fully deserved.
“The story from MO is an example of an acceptable “warning shot”.”
I hate to disagree with you brother, but even a poor “shyster” can convince a jury that this good self-defense shoot just turned into negligent homicide.
Shyster: “So, you did not intend to harm Mr. Easley with your “warning shot” just scare him, is that correct?”
Homeowner: “Yes, that true.”
Shyster: “So your willful disregard and poor marksmanship endangered not only Mr. Easley, but also his dear close friends who were only helping Nathan turn his life around. We rest our case.”
If you are threatened to the point of using deadly force, use deadly force, please no warning shots.
I see someone’s sarcasm detector (and sense of humor) appears to be broken . . . .
I guess a warning shot in the melon is about as good as you can get. I hate to think where he would have hit him if he was aiming……….know what I mean??
And all of the perps were “pillars of their community”…
If they bury them standing up….
Nothing like a good warning shot to the chest to get the point across.
“An autopsy is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday and he hopes they will know a little bit more after that.”
That Missouri autopsy ought to be short and sweet.
“Yep. he’s dead, due to a gunshot to the head. Type that up, I’ll sign it later. NEXT!”
I’m willing to be a dollar to a rolling doughnut what the skin melanin content was of two of the Ohio perps, based on just their names alone.
And the name of the town, “Black”lick, is just icing on the irony cake.
Too bad the linked article didn’t show pictures.
Warning shots are first a waste of ammo and second, give your threats a chance to reach for their weapon and/or take aim. It’s always two center mass and if it even wobbles instead of hitting the dirt, one in the melon. And make sure there’s only one story left told…yours.
You guys fail to realize, the warning shot was for the other criminals with him…
