Actor gives cops guns [Jonn]

| December 23, 2008

I’m not big on Hollywood news, but when they do something good, I should probably recognize it. David Spade gave the Pheonix, Arizona Police Department a hundred grand to purchase some AR-15 rifles;

“These guys need to be able to do their jobs and I am just happy I could help,” the Rules of Engagement star, who took action after hearing that some local cops had to pay for their guns out of their own pockets, said in a statement.

A police spokesman said that the department was very grateful for the monetary boost and that the rifles would be doled out to area patrollers.

Usually, you’d expect Hollywood folks to buy things like seat warmers for cops or something equally useless, but for Spade to buy things they really need is just great and it’s really man-bites-dog news you’d expect a real media to cover. If we had a real media, that is. It’s such a change from the Barbara Streisands and Bonos who tell us how we should spend our money.

I believe I heard it on Fox News sometime today. But, again, according to the code pinkos, if there were no police, there’d be no crime.

Frankly Opinionated

When one of the Hollywoodies does something constructive like this, it is up to us to shout it from the rooftops. Maybe, just maybe, one other of them may get a bit jealous and do something like that him/her self. (Holiday delusions?)
Now to find his webpage and e-mail address so I can send him an e-card.

Now I see I should have been writing Christmas lists to David Spade instead of Santa.

That is pretty cool, though.
