George Henry Margolis - Candidate 1

A few weeks ago, we talked about this George Henry Margolis fellow has been telling phony stories since the Reagan Era. One of our alert readers saw him hanging out in California with a bumper sticker identifying him as a full-bird colonel. Well, someone went and got his records for us;

He was a real fast-burner – In nine years of service (some in the Army, Army Reserve and the Air Force) he shot up to the rank of E-2, the Air Force divested themselves of him in less than three weeks. And no awards. Almost a colonel.

Hmm. Private/E1 after 8 years in the Active Army and US Army Reserve. Yeah, that REALLY screams “high speed/low drag/officer material”. I can see why the USAFR snapped him up in a heartbeat!

Another Stolen Valor “stellar performer”…

Shiittttttttbiiiiiirrrrrd.

When the Air Force said they were “giving him the bird,” he got the wrong idea. Could happen to anyone.

Unable to get past E-2? Jesus Christ you have to be a complete fucktard to not be able to get past E-2 just with time in service.

Hondo

Well, ChipNASA – this tool joined the USAFR almost 55 years ago. Might have been a bit different then.

But I think even in that era leaving the Army and Army Reserve after 8 yrs total srevice as a Private/E1 tells us all we need to know about this tool.

I’m guessing the USAFR realized PDQ he wasn’t exactly “stellar”, and that’s why they let him go for “own convenience” vice enforcing his enlistment contract.

I would like to know if no NDSM was an oversight on the part of the individual preparing the FOIA reply, though. Based on his service during the Korean War period, he’d rate that regardless of where he served.

Ex-PH2

Hondo, it wasn’t that hard to get past E-2 50 some years ago. Even someone who is a complete dribble on a lamppost can do it. We’ve all seen that, you know.

This one would have to be a serious potato peel to spend 9 years going nowhere.

Man, I was a complete screw up and still made E-4; after 26 months as an E-2 of course.

Martinjmpr

Undoubtedly he was confusing those E-2 mosquito wings he earned with a full colonel’s bird wings. I can see how that could happen.

Skippy

seriously 8 years as a E-2 there has to be a UCMJ in here somewhere Lol….

I don’t think they use those DOD stickers anymore. I haven’t had one on my car for years. Maybe he likes being saluted when he goes on base. I wonder what kind of ID card he shows the gate guard.

The bird looks fake.

Hondo

I’ve spent some time around a few Naval bases in the past. That’s the style of sticker used by USN/USMC to denote O6. As I recall, I’ve seen both white on blue background (like this LSoS is sporting on his vehicle) and black on white background versions used.

Air Force Apprentice Organizational Supply Technician for three weeks.

Anybody else thinking that within the first week he started using the pillow case in a set of bed linen for something other than it’s intended purpose and got caught, so they booted his ass?

Yep, pillow cases. The ancestor of what they now call a “deployment sock.”

It’s obvious that he was a stellar as a two week old cigarette butt in a filthy ashtray.
