Lockerbie 27th Anniversary
Thunderstixx reminds us that today marks the 27th anniversary of the downing of Pan Am flight 103, the Boeing 747 Clipper Maid of the Seas, on it’s way from Frankfurt, Germany to Detroit Michigan by Libyan terrorists costing 259 lives of passengers and crew of the craft and an additional 11 lives on the ground in Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. In 2003, after Saddam Hussein was ousted from Iraq, Muammar Gaddafi admitted that Libyan intelligence officials had been involved in the terrorist act in response to the 1986 attack on Gaddafi’s family that was in response to the LaBelle Disco Bombing in Berlin. Libya’s motivation also seems to be influenced by the downing of two jets and the sinking of some Libyan vessels in the Gulf of Sidra in the early 80s.
Gaddafi paid compensation to the families in 2003, although he denied his involvement in the planning. In 2011, a Libyan govenment official admitted to Swedish media that Gaddafi had ordered the attack. Of course, there are “false flag” theories that blame the CIA for the bombing which don’t hold water.

I just recently watched a 2-part series by Frontline that examined this event in depth. The Sweadish guy that built the timing device and sold it to the Libyans (that conveniently had an office right down the hall from him) needs to rot in hell. Lots of innocents’ blood on his hands due to the devices he sold to terror groups over the years.
Ghaddafi’s dead and rotting where he belongs, along with Saddam and his malignant offspring. That was only the start of it.
These thugs are like cancer: they rot everything they touch and spread everywhere unless they are excised and destroyed. So what does it take to understand that?
I remember this well. It was just 3 days before my wife and two kids were scheduled to fly to Maui on a 747. None of my family had ever been on a commercial airliner. Needless to say they were very nervous on the flight from Seattle to Hawaii. We hit some turbulence leaving Seattle, my wife was not a happy camper.
Just a pause to remember Army Captain Joseph P. Curry, a member of 10SFG. Returning from a trip overseas, he had the tragic misfortune of being on that flight. The rifle range at Fort Devens was named in his honor.
Plus the college students from Syracuse returning from their semester abroad. And the Lockerbie residents. May they all rest in peace.
To all who were murdered R.I.P.
Families, we’ll always remember your loss…
The killers…
