“Death to America” chants in Iran parliament
According to AFP, a chance meeting in the halls of the UN the other day between President Obama and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif which ended with a handshake triggered a “death to America” chant in the Iranian legislature;
“With whose permission have they met Obama?” deputy Bahram Biranvand asked angrily. “Last time they talked to Obama on the phone and this time, with whose permission” did Iran’s minister shake hands with the US leader?
Biranvand was referring to President Hassan Rouhani’s historic telephone call with his American counterpart in 2013.
Zarif also came under indirect attack from Iran’s ultraconservative judiciary spokesman, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejeie, Fars news agency reported.
So, I totally trust the Iranians in their deal to prevent the development of nuclear weapons, you know, because they’re reliable actors who want peace. Elections have consequences. This president’s only strategy has been to be the “anti-Bush” – make decisions based on the opposite of what Bush would do. Consequently, we get the world that is completely the opposite of what we had in 2009.

I wouldn’t say he’s anti-Bush. If Bush would/did make the smart choice, as he sometimes did, Barry will do the exact opposite. If Bush would/did make the dumbass choice, as he sometimes did, Barry will do the exact same thing.

You are being much too kind to oBaMa by saying that his only strategy was to be anti-Bush. That was a useful tool for the useful tools who voted for him once or twice. His strategy, aided and abetted by media, the Congress, and the Supreme Court, and lesser appellate has been to play race and class conflict to the hilt, taking every opening given to him to transform the country. He made inroads in two of the institutions that are key to the survival of our society. The first is marriage, no longer a sacred compact between a one man and one woman but, instead, open to all comers. The second is the military. If marriage was for family building, ensuring the civil society’s existence, the military’s key role was safekeeping the nation. Now it is merely a plaything for social experimentation. These things have costs. We may not pay those costs but future generations will. But, hey, America’s Got Talent is still on TV, right? And Monday Night Football too? So, let’s get those smiley faces on and turn those frowns upside down!
Waitaminnit, now according to Larsie-Puddin’-gumdrop and his ilk, Iran is now an ally we’re supposed to trust and sing “Kum-ba-yah” around the campfire with while enjoying freshly made s’mores and washing them down with Kool-Aid. They can look at everything through rose-colored glasses all they want to, I traded mine in for a set of jaundice-colored lenses decades ago, I prefer to be cynical. BTW, I don’t ever remember Iran expressing even the tiniest morsel of regret over Iranian Muslims holding American Citizens hostage for 444 days or their proven support of the effort against our troops in Iraq ( Remember the Iranian-made EFP weapons?).
And to think, it’s only Wednesday. Who knew September would end this way?
Hey, I have a question. What sort of people gather and chant “Death to [Fill in Here]”? I mean, really, what’s up with that? We have heard it for so long, it’s just “oh them again.” But when I stop to think for a second, I wonder, who the hell does that?

The Hope and Change rhetoric offered by our so-called “leader” have proven to be anything but what people now see as worthless chatter. Who can deny this Muslim-oriented puppet has done more to weaken and damned near destroy this country than ever thought possible? Seems to me the group most concerned about our present and future is those of us who have offered ourselves into service and made the commitment to support and defend this country even in the face of death, if need be. On Google News today I noticed the State of Michigan is considering allowing 100 K refugees into the state. Brilliant, just really breath- taking the stupidity one has to allow the potential enemy in to the country many wish to take over. As presumably many, I feel helpless watching elected officials aid and abet the prez. with his efforts to melt and consume the golden brick road. Selfish as it sounds, I’m just glad the majority of my life is behind me and hopefully mine will end naturally. The alternative, which I despise considering would be having to duke it out with a bunch of goat-humping youknowwhatists.
Obama is going to be furious when he hears this. They promised him they’d wait until he showed up to participate.
