Weekend Open Thread

| May 15, 2015

So, I goofed off today – I had to go get my Special Driving Forces license, so I can drive the truck that I bought four months ago with the high speed equipment. Yes, I took the (Ranger) training required to operate it. The VA wanted me to drive to DC for eight weeks (that’s a one hour class and five hours of driving to get there and back) instead I found somewhere closer and paid for it out of my pocket – so you’re welcome, tax payers. I completed the (Ranger) Driving program in four weeks. Anyway, I’m mobile again.

So, that completes another round of distractions. But, that’s not your problem, is it? So I also spent the day answering my email – that should surprise those of you who email me and never hear anything back, huh? But, yeah. Chicks are getting scammed on that Al Gore invention, relatives are embellishing their military records, it never ends.

But, BB King died today. MSN says that he spent three months in the Army during World War II without discussing why his enlistment was so short. I’d guess it’s because he joined towards the end of the war, since he was born in 1925 and he was about 19 on VJ Day. At least he answered the call, but I don’t think three months would make him a veteran in the eyes of the VA. Anyway, he brought me a lot of joy with his music, so, thanks, Riley B. King. You can’t picture BB King in your head without that mile-wide smile, can you?

“WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS”

Composed By: GEORGE HARRISON

I look at you all,
See the love there that’s sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps.
I look at the floor
And I see it needs sweeping.
Still, my guitar gently weeps.

I don’t know why
Nobody told you
How to unfold your love.
I don’t know how
Someone controlled you.
They bought and sold your love.

I look at the world
And I notice it’s turning
While my guitar gently weeps.
With every mistake,
We must surely be learning.
Still, my guitar gently weeps

I don’t know how
You were diverted.
You were perverted, too.
I don’t know
How you were inverted.
No one alerted you.

I look at you all,
See the love there that’s sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps.
I look at you all,
And my memories, I’m keeping.
Still, my guitar gently weeps.

Well, there goes the article for tomorrow AM. (smile) However, I can shed a bit more on King’s military career – but only a bit.

What I found on Mr. King’s military service while researching an article on him for tomorrow (now pulled) was sketchy. Most accounts indicated that he joined the Army in 1943 and went thru basic training.

Some sources indicate he was released from active duty shortly afterwards, while others say that happened in late 1944. All seem to agree it happened after he married his first wife.

I can’t say definitively, but it looks like King served at least long enough to go thru basic, and may (or may not) have served long enough to qualify as a vet. He never served overseas.

His release happened because of his pre-war occupations (farmer, tractor driver) – and, possibly, because of his change in marital status. His prior civilian occupations were deemed essential to the US war effort. Possibly coupled with his marriage, that qualified him for a release from active duty to support the US war effort in his former civilian occupation.

He appears to have spent the rest of the war working on a farm in the Mississippi Delta.

Hondo

De nada, Jonn. I started the article mid/late morning, but got sidetracked and didn’t finish it until about the time you posted this. I didn’t see this open thread before I queued it up for tomorrow AM.

It was a fairly short article, and you’ve covered most of it above. About the only other stuff of note I had was about his mil career, and as I noted above: other than he served and got an early discharge because he held an essential civilian occupation, there wasn’t much else.

Organic fertilizer occurs. (smile)

Just an Old Dog

I found it fascinating that the US actually had a lot of deferments in WW2 compared to other countries, as well as much higher physical standards.

Sparks

I agree Hondo. I had one uncle who was a cotton and tobacco farmer and though he volunteered to enlist in WWII, he was denied and basically told, “we need for you established farmers to keep growing the cotton and tobacco”.

Yef

With all due respect, I have heard many stories like this from people to justify their lack of service during trying times.

Unless it can be independently confirmed, I do not take those stories too seriously.

“Where were you during the Viet Nam war?”
“I volunteered, but because I had a critical skill as a toilet cleaner I was told to keep cleaning toilets. We cannot win a war with dirty toilets.”

Hondo

Yef: approx 6 sources I found all had variants of that same story. There was a bit of variance in details, but all agreed that he served, and those that mentioned a reason for his early release were consistent.

One or two might be BS. I don’t think all of them would be.

Frankie Cee "In the clear"

Being a good deal older than most of y’all, I can remember of relatives of mine who used the family to falsely claim that they had no essential skills so that they could get into the military. Yes farming was one of those critical skills that could cause a deferment.
Carry on.

John Robert Mallernee

@ YEF, Et Alii:

In 1968, when I was in Company F, 3d Battalion, Student Brigade, at the United States Army Southeastern Signal School at Fort Gordon, Georgia, one of the guys in my platoon, a draftee, was given a hardship discharge at his family’s request.

He lived on a farm in Wisconsin, was his parent’s only son, and was needed to do the work.

It’s been a long time, but I think his name was Private Richard Harms.

As he was packing his duffel bag, I happened to audibly pass some gas, to which the farm boy responded by quoting an old saying, “A fartin’ horse will never tire, and a fartin’ man’s the man to hire”, which greatly amused our platoon sergeant, who also was raised up on a farm.

Another guy in that same company was either discharged or transferred because he couldn’t be given a security clearance.

A “Secret” security clearance was required of everyone in that course, which was Field Radio Relay and Carrier Equipment Operator (MOS 31M20).

In the tenth week of that twelve week course, I was transferred to Company B, 7th Battalion, Student Brigade, to attend the Field Radio Relay and Carrier Equipment Repair (MOS 31L20) course.

Instinct

My grandfather wasn’t allowed to go during WWII because he worked for the railroad. There were a lot of jobs back then that were critical.

A Proud Infidel®™

Yeah, railroaders were in high demand during that war and being one would get a man deferred. My Grandad was a P.E., a Professional Engineer and that got him Drafted as an Army Engineer Captain. He never saw overseas service, but he was laid to rest in the same National Cemetery I’ve officially requested to be buried in when my time comes.

Sparks

Yef, I can’t speak to your sources or experiences but I can assure you, what I wrote of my uncle is true. Cotton and tobacco were both in demand in the U.S. before the war. After the start of WWII they both became critical commodities to the government. Independent confirmation? Yes. Uncle Malvern kept his deferment papers his whole life. Eager to serve and proud he had tried to enlist. When he was told no, he turned that same pride into working his ass off even harder,(and believe me, cotton and tobacco farming in North Carolina in that time and even in my lifetime was very hard work) to grow as much cotton and tobacco as he could for the war effort. He served his country in a different way but none the less gave his very best to the task he was given.

Thank you for at least opening your post with, “With all due respect”. But please hear me Yef, never even imply, I am lying. That is something I do take quite personally. Call me an SOB, a MF’er or most anything and it’s like water off a duck’s back to me, but call me a liar…and we’ll have a problem.

Skippy

Hondo. My grandpa on my moms side enlisted in the Navy at 18 in 1945 did a 110 days and then everybody he enlisted with minus a few guys were given honorable discharges and where given the Boot because they said they did not need them, this was around SEP 1945. And was given the status of veteran. In fact he is buried up at the national cemetery in Phoenix, Az.

Green Thumb

I met him years ago in a private venue when I was a younger man.

He was very friendly and seemed like a damn nice guy.

Smitty

So im wondering, with the reappearance of bunny boi, and his claims being posted here, by him, that he went back in and is now a Ranger, is he qualified to be in the tourney again? I have to say, he made a grander claim lately than any of our other phonies have ever tried. He claimed he kicked my ass. Now I’m no Tim Kennedy, but im certainly bigger and very good with my hands

GDContractor

Smitty – OT, but I was reading through the old Dalton pages the other day. Did you ever link up with LebbenB? He stopped coming around here and I am hoping he is okay. He is (was?) a good dude and I miss not seeing him comment here.

Smitty

Never met up, but have a phone number and email for him if ya want to touch base. Work decreased my appearances around here, and didn’t have much time to keep in touch. I’m not sure what happened to him

CLAW131

GD, you’re right. The last comment I can find from LebbenB is from exactly one year ago today. It was on that thread about that Sammy McGoflin(SP?) from Arkansas who claimed to have been shot down seven times, was a POW for 89 days and humped 350 miles through Cambodia in only three days.

I hope LebbenB is indeed OK. Maybe this will prompt him to show up.

Skippy

Smitty. If it’s the same bunny boi ! ! ! From the other day ????
If so I’ve had and am still doing a ton of homework thanks to me not reading about all of our high speed TURDs… I had no idea there where so DAMN MANY of them.
I feel like crap !!!!!!
And very embarrassed… I went through a half a gallon of eye bleach and two UV treatments
LMAO !!!! And a eye picking…. LMAO times 3 !!!!!!

A Proud Infidel®™

Hey. if he’s back to his chickenshit stunts, I vote for his reentry into the next SV Tourney. I wonder if he’ll “lawer up” with the Dutch Rudder Gang for extra crazy/homo points?

Smitty

He showed up on here. In the thread about the last 8 women dropped from the Ranger course, he openly claimed that he went back in and is now a Ranger. He also claims he kicked my ass, but I must have slept through that one

Skippy

If it’s bunni boi. He was on the thread about the Texas mayor claiming to be SF. A few days ago..

Smitty

Missed that one. Kid must love the abuse to bring his tales here after we have 3 threads about him

Smitty

Had to go look it up, too rich. Dont know how deep ya dug, but bunny boi spent several years pretending to be me after he washed out of reception. Biggest problem with his stories is that I am 8 years older than him, and I was only 19 when I was in iraq. what cant be looked up is all the posts he made pretending to be me and linking gay porn. Sadly, Jonn deleted them all after Hondo edited them to be even more entertaining

Skippy

Yea his comment fooled me barking about people faking being SF and Rangers and I left a comment telling his to stick around he would see more Hondo called him out, I had no idea who he was I’m a little new to the blog but it was a WTF moment for me !!!! 🙂

Smitty

A few of out phonies show up here from time to time. I thought bunny boi would have gone into hiding when his own father offered a reward to remove his fake tab, but he can’t stay out of the lime light

Skippy

I’m leaning.. something’s, are, Hmm.
well some folks Need Jesus. But I think Jesus has thrown in the towel on them.. Sad I’m saying that. Buttttt

Skippy

About a two years ago someone out here stole a few pics of mine from a few of my trips to sandland or Da Sand Box. Talk about shifting a brick so the mil pics came down and the others got locked up to non friends, it also happens to a buddy of mine down at Fort H. Pain in the Ass…

Smitty

He didn’t steal pictures or anything, im pretty sure I don’t even have any from over there. He dated my sister when she was in highschool and all he knew about the army was what my sister told him about myself, my father, and my older brother. He figured he couldn’t pull off 1980s green beret, and airborne infantry sounded cooler than civil affairs, so he started claiming everything I did in the army as his. Every school I went to, my deployment, my units, and didn’t even seem to care about the fact that he was only 13 when I got out. He got busted out by many people, and decided to blame me for his lies. So he came here for a while trying to smear my name. Fortunately Jonn and Hondo are a lot smarter than your average reception wash out punk. They caught on to his ip address being different than mine and ran him out. I think he ended up top 4 in the tourney that year

Skippy

the issue about pics was someone claiming my pic was them. What you went through is a TRIP!!!!. Its Identity theft and Stolen Valor on steroids. You have a groupie/stocker with a school girl crush.
Not funny..
Holy Crapola…

Hondo

Yeah, some of the fakes featured here are real “pieces of work”.

Even if they do love their “widdle bun-buns”. (smile)

05/13/2015 Motion: Continue by Respondent

MOTION TO CONTINUE TRIAL DAUGHTER’S WEDDING AND FEDERAL PREEMPTION HEARINGS IN

2/17 Air Cav

Whatever it takes to delay the inevitable, I guess. I read his reply to the complaint. Sad stuff. In fact, it was so sad, I couldn’t stop laughing.

Frankie Cee "In the clear"

But Jonn; if he retires, how can he fulfill his offer to represent you? Whatever will you do for expert legal representation?
I am sure this must be keeping you awake at night.

OAE CPO USN Ret

If it was up to me, the motion should be denied.

His daughters wedding is on June 27, 2015 in 1840’s plaza baltimore,md https://www.theknot.com/us/melanie-bernath-and-john-diferdinando-jun-2015

According to the docket search his last hearing is on June 26th. Hell, it could wrap up before then. (You’ll have to plug his last name into the search box)

Ain’t Google a grand piece of technology?

Hack Stone

Maybe the wedding is just a cover so that he can launch an attack against an advertising company based out of Baltimore.

Hack Stone

Stupid IPhone posted before I could share the link.

http://www.hackstone.com/about-us/

Full disclosure, Hack Stone the regular visitor to TAH has no affiliation with Hack Stone Film Group, has never contacted anyone associated with Hack Stone Film Group, and has friggin’ how or why they are named Hack Stone Film Group, but does find it amusing that Daniel Bernath, in his quest for Internet retribution, has focused his attention on a totally innocent party. Of course, this is not the first time, and probably won’t be the last time. Maybe while he is in Baltimore, he can take trip down to Bethesda and check in with the local affiliate of the Dutch Rudder Gang. Just look for the house that does not have a door on the mailbox. He would leave the light on, but money is a bit tight, with only one income coming in.

A Proud Infidel®™

I don’t know how many times and on how many threads I’ve told that creature and his indoor accomplice they were accusing the wrong Man of being me, but my efforts were in vain, an idiot will only do what the idiot wants to do, we’ve seen that time and time again. At least seven innocent Men have been accused of being me, and other innocents have been accuse of being other TAH Regulars including the
Lovely and talented Michelle Malkin. I’m sure if there was ever a Guinness World Record for idiocy, every member of The Dutch Rudder Gang would be a top contender for it! 😀

Hondo

Shoot, PI – they didn’t do any better with me, either. Through misidentifications, the DRG tried to (1) promote me to GO, (2) make me Don Shipley, (3) make me a SGM SF operator, then (4) shave a hefty number of years off my age. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get any of those right, either.

Sh!t, I’d love to have a GO’s retired pay, a Trident and some Team time, the long tab and some A-Team time, and/or be way younger than I am. But I got gypped – on all 4 counts! (smile)

Yeah, they’ve got “mad skilz” all right.

A Proud Infidel®™

Yeah, they’re World Record-type idiots. At least seven have been accused by them of being me, do I hold the title for most falsely accused of being my screen name?

OAE CPO USN Ret

And besides, didn’t someone say that Melanie dropped dear old dad off of her FB page? Why would he be going to her wedding unless he went uninvited.

GDContractor

I question whether that is his daughter. On Facebook, she claims to be from Pennsylvania. I think this is a ruse. I hope the court demands proof and does not just grant the continuance out of hand.

sj

What does “FEDERAL PREEMPTION HEARINGS IN” mean?

rgr1480

SJ,

I’m guessing the title was too long for the box? According to Wiki,

In the law of the United States, federal preemption is the invalidation of a U.S. state law that conflicts with Federal law.

[emphasis added]

Green Thumb

Federal Preemption is the federal government’s way of trying to circumvent state law.

A Proud Infidel®™

My bet is it’s another one of his con games.

Flagwaver

So, he’s trying to get everything held off until after his daughter gets married, which happens after the case is supposed to end. It seems to me he wants to not be incarcerated for his daughter’s wedding.

Otherwise, it sounds like he is putting his sharp legal mind to another fool-proof scheme to stop people from blaming him by using whatever that federal preemption hearing is. I don’t think it will work, though.

This man has the intelligence of Wily E. Coyote, Super Genius. Just when he thinks his next fool-proof plan is ready, it realized he’s a fool and drops an anvil on his head.

MrBill

I wonder what federal law would preempt the California bar from regulating the conduct of its own membership. Given what we know about Bernath’s competence as a lawyer, it’s probably either something that no one has ever heard of, or actual law that he has very obviously misapplied.

Hondo

“I’ll take ‘obviously misapplied’ for $500, Alex.”

MrBill

😉

2/17 Air Cav

You are no longer a driver, Jonn. You are now an Operator. Cool.

As for BB King, I wonder if Lucille goes with him or stays.

There are multiple Lucilles… but only one BB.

Jonn, happy you have your wheels back! Have a great weekend and thanks for the remembrance of B.B. King. Rest in peace B.B. I hope Lucille goes to the Blues or Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Never heard of BB King before. But then, I am an smelly furriner and I only know American culture from the last 20 years.

So, I live two hours from my international airport. Just as the taxi arrived, I realized that I had to take a healthy Giduck.

As the taxi was pulling away from my house, the driver was eating a donut and a dog was taking a Giduck in my yard. I rolled down the window and yelled at the dog so hard that my vision appeared like colored donut sprinkles and my Giduck started to slide out. I squeezed it back in like a turtle head just as it touched cotton.

I saw my first “Giduck happens” bumper sticker on the interstate and felt last night’s meatloaf gurgle.

Finally, we arrived at the airport and the driver wanted a tip…what’s up with this Giduck?

Finally, in the luxury of the airport bathroom, I gave birth to my own Giduck that was about the size of a loaf of bread. “Holy Giduck”, exclaimed my neighbor in the next stall.

I didn’t give a Giduck.

John Giduck – the turd with a face!

BB King is perhaps the most influential musician of the past 75 years in the USA. His tunes were played by everyone. His style was copied by many. He couldn’t even by confined to a single genre.

He will certainly be missed.

That thing about deferments for farmers was very real, as were quite a few others. We had family members who were declined enlistment for various reasons. The rest served in the military. There never seemed to be any judgment expressed about whose service was more valuable – just accepted as being different. Funny thing was how many were attached to the military as civilians.

My father was a career railroad man and they wouldn’t let him join.Always embarrassed him since his two sons both ended up career Army officers that both served in Vietnam.

SJ, did you see my story on COL Garten yesterday? It was so strange that I had just been looking at a picture of him and the other battalion officers while looking for your info on LT Woods and then Wham! the next day, there is the notice of his death on TAH.

BTW, I have an interesting anecdote about LTG Moore, then COL, from that Trung Luong battle that I do not want to make public as long as he’s still alive. It concerns a controversial order he gave me to distribute over the battalion net after the battle was over. As a former infantry officer in Vietnam, you might find it interesting.

Jonn said he gave you my email address.

Didn’t get anything from Jonn…he’s enjoying his new ride too much. I did send him a note from Wood’s widow to send to you wherein she appreciates so much reading that narrative of the battle by one of Luke’s Platoon Leaders that you linked. TAH done good again by making this exchange possible.

Commander Phil Monkress, the CEO of All-Points Logistics, would school him in he ancient martially-gay art of “Taint-do”.

When one meets this dishonest, disgusting assclown, one generally has a hand on the wallet. Correct? Phildo has quite the reputation for stealing.

Therefore, “Taint-do” is based on the premises of surprising your opponent (mark) with lightning speed in removing his pants to allow unimpeded access to his taint. When this happens, the “victim” (or mark) will generally place both hands over the taint and scrotum area in an attempt to block Phildo’s lustful advances. When this occurs, the hand comes off the wallet those allowing Phildo to steal it and its contents for his own nefarious purposes.

Phildo is what one would call a Master in this art.

From the Florida Today:

Group unveils statue of Medal of Honor recipient

COCOA – A crowd of more than 250 people burst into applause and cheers after Medal of Honor recipient Melvin Morris slowly pulled a cord unveiling a life-size bronze statue of himself at Riverfront Park in Cocoa.

“When I first saw it, I told my wife, ‘this is eerie,’ ” he said. “Sometimes I pinch myself, I’m still here.”

Morris, 73, of Port St. John, said he was grateful because such honors often go to people who are no longer around.

“Actually, I’m very proud of it and the people who stepped up and did this,” he said.

Morris is Brevard’s only living recipient of the Medal of Honor.

The Civilian Military Community Foundation, which headed the effort to get the statue built, enlisted the help of the community to honor and help commemorate Morris’ legacy through the monument that stands at Riverfront Park.

(And for those who aren’t sure, this is in Brevard County, Fllorida which should ring a bell to many around here.)

Green Thumb

Brevard County.

About time there is some good news down there.

Way to go, Mr. Morris!

However, I wonder if Commander Phil Monkress, serving in his capacity as a Reserve Brevard County Sheriffs Deputy, provided any assistance for the ceremony?

This also happened in Brevard County two months ago.

http://www.floridatoday.com/story/sports/2015/03/14/operation-surf-helps-healing-wounded-soldiers/70205338/

The City of Cocoa Beach teamed up with local businesses to fly wounded vets in learn to surf or reconnect with surfing.

The vets were housed in local hotels or with families depending upon the needs of the vets and their injuries.

The vets got a police escort from Orlando International Airport and when they arrived in Cocoa Beach, many people had turned out along the road to salute and applaud them.

Local surfers worked with the vets and protected them while surfing. It really was a great undertaking that was successful on many levels.

Oldie but goodie, and with apologies to the “O’s” onboard.
Well, mostly 😉
A U.S. Marine Colonel was about to start the morning briefing to his staff.

While waiting for the coffee machine to finish brewing, the Colonel decided to pose a question to all assembled
.
He explained that his wife had been a bit frisky the night before and he failed to get his usual amount of sound sleep.

He posed the question of just how much of sex was “work” and how much of it was “pleasure?”

A Major chimed in with 75%-25% in favor of work.

A Captain said it was 50%-50%.

A Lieutenant responded with 25%-75% in favor of pleasure, depending upon his state of inebriation at the time.

There being no consensus, the colonel turned to the Private First Class who was in charge of making the coffee and asked for his opinion.

Without any hesitation, the young Private First Class responded, “Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure.

The colonel was surprised and as you might guess, asked why?

“Well, sir, if there was any work involved, the officers would have me doing it for them.”

Adam Appel of Anchorage, Alaska appears to have provided evidence admitting to illegally transported a weapon from Alaska to Hawaii and likely back.

Silentium Est Aureum

Ah, ode to the one-day weekend. Fortunately, I’ll have enough hours next week to turn a 3-day weekend into a 5-day weekend without burning any vacation.

So I got that going for me.

Hack Stone

Which is nice.

Silentium Est Aureum

Gunga…gungala…no.

Gunga, gunga lagungala.

Frankie Cee "In the clear"

I try to offer to be there for anyone who may need to talk, and found this today.
I have a friend who is 10th Mountain Combat vet. He posted this bit, this morning:
“Uhhhhhh! ANOTHER terrible night! If i could get one solid night in w/o any nightmares, I’d be a happy camper! For u brothers out there with the same condition, I was told to write my dreams down as soon as ya wake up. Sorry to whine but it helps to get things off my chest. Pro Patria”

Twist

I was told to do the same thing.

I have a Question here for all. I have a little issue with Nerve Pain. Aside from blowing my brains out,
any ideas on dealing with severe flare ups ?????
That don’t require the taking of Meds ????
Also any ideas on sleep issues ????
Again without taking Meds.

And last but least RIP BB King…
And God bless America ! ! ! !

Ex-PH2

I suggest a certified massage therapist, a really good chiropractor and ask for a cervical pillow (goes under your neck), acupuncture and acupressure.

Skippy

Ex-PH2. I wish a chiropractor would work 🙁
This goes back to my Bo-bo overseas, that gave me the unwanted 7 surgeries to get stable.
The certified massage therapist idea works but my wife is offline Thanks to Me. She may be back online after the Bun Pops out in November, 🙂
acupuncture and acupressure. This works Great.
trying to find somebody that dose it here in Tucson, Az
has not been successful so far 🙁

Skippy

Ex-PH2
Hey thank you for the info. 🙂
Another bad night, for me last night.
Nero pathetic Pain SUCKs !!!!! 🙁
If anybody on here knows has any ideas PLEASE feel free and let know

OWB

My massage therapist works in a chiropractor’s office. It’s all very legit, and has helped me with a bunch of different things. It started many years ago to get over a torn rotator cuff. I now just go once a week whether I need it or not. Worth every penny to me. (Yeah, medicare and insurance pay following an actual injury, but not for maintenance visits.)

May not work for you – my stuff is all structural issues like busted up knees and such. But, a good massage therapist might be able to hit some pressure points and get you a lot of relief.

Skippy

OWB, Yeh my wife 🙂
Is a licensed Massage Therapist or as she says LMT. She has stellar qualifications. But I put her out of commission until December but more then likely January 🙂
I guess you could say the BUN is in the Oven Lol…
I do have really good insurance, just found out last week the VA is no longer covering Aqua therapy, they offered to do it through the choice card. But the paper work in progress,
My issues are nerve and structural on R leg and L leg and my spin starting from T-2 down with shrapnel on my R shoulder to my mid back. And a lot of hardware from mid back to left foot.
Crap I’m Rambling Again im sorry

THANK YOU so much for the info

OWB

Man, what a great deal you’ve got – except for the part about having to do without right how! She can probably tell you some things to try on yourself that will help, too. Not AS effective, but better than nothing.

I took glucosamine for years and it helped a great deal. Problem is that it caused weight gain (it doesn’t for everyone), and the accompanying vitamin C is an appetite stimulant.

Skippy

OWB. good copy on the info I’ll do some homework, where we live it’s new to my better half, and I’ll have to say it’s changed quite a bit since my youth +. but it’s as they say a learning process. For me

Ex-PH2

I was thinking the same thing as OWB.

Also, a practitioner in traditional Chinese medicine might be able to help you out. This school is in Tucson, AZ

http://www.hanuniversity.edu/

You could give them a call, or try this group for a referral to a massage therapist.

https://massagetherapy.az.gov/

I have arthritis in my neck and back and nothing makes it feel better than the chiropractor’s little pressure gun plus massage therapy. I’m also found that acupressure and acupuncture do work if done conrrectly.

Ex-PH2

Oh, and before I forget, best wishes and an easy, smooth delivery on the bun!

Skippy

Thank you again, and the Boss (aka my wife) says thank you also Lol.
On the traditional Chinese medicine, acupressure and acupuncture
Did it at NICo at Bethesda and Nellis Medcen it’s amazing how well it works !!!!!
Due Date is Nov 15 this being number 2. And the last one !!!!!!!
🙂 🙂

Hondo

Congrats to you and your spouse on the impending arrival, Skip. Best of luck on finding alternatives for the pain issues.

Skippy

Thank you Hondo. 🙂

Skippy

Thank you, also on enlightening me the other days on bunni-boi, it was a Trip to see someone pull that. What a Turd, he needs to get a life 🙂

On today’s menu:

Smoked Salmon

and

Swineapple

The salmon has been soakingin a brine mix for a couple of hours and is ready to be put in the smoker.

What the hell is swineapple you ask?

There’s been a picture making the rounds on teh facebookz.

It’s a whole pineapple that’s been hollowed out and stuffed with country style ribs (basically boneless bits of pork) I applied a rub to the pork and stuffed it in the cavity of the pineapple.

Next, wrap the pineapple in bacon. Apply more rub.

Leave it in the smoker for approx 5 hours.

I’ll let you know how it all turns out.

Ex-PH2

I made a huge bowl of pasta salad with ham and cheese included for supper (and maybe lunch tomorrow).

Good food. I have wine, cheese and bread standing by to join it.

OAE CPO USN Ret

Mixed reviews on the swineapple. For one thing, I plumb forgot to put the rub on the meat before putting it in the pineapple. The bacon…well that was to be expected that it wouldn’t taste too good after 5 hours in the smoker. But it did add some good flavor to the pineapple. The pork in the middle turned out OK, but could have been better if I had put the rub mix on it. If I do this again I may marinade the meat before putting it in the pineapple. Oh well, I still have some delicious smoked salmon to console myself with.

Twist

I got a phone call and it looks like I have the range control job. I just have to get a physical and take a urinalysis to get it. Good thing I haven’t been doing lines of coke off of strippers’ breasts a’la Charlie Sheen.

CLAW131

Sounds like congratulations are in order for you.

So Congrats and Good Luck !!

A Proud Infidel®™

COOL! Glad to hear that!

Skippy

Congrats Twist

Ex-PH2

I knew you’d get it. Congratulations!

OAE CPO USN Ret

Winning!

Hondo

OAE CPO USN Ret: given the original source, maybe that’s not the best way to congratulate a guy who’s got an upcoming urinalysis. (smile)

— break —

Twist: congrats. Glad to hear it for two reasons – the Army needs quality DA civilians, and it was what you wanted. I think we have the proverbial “win-win” here.

Just remember: no need to stay up all night the night before studying for the test. (smile)

CLAW131

Today is Armed Forces Day.

No mention of it in any type of media/news that I have seen. Not even a military themed movie marathon on any of the TV channels. I would have liked to have seen the Band of Brothers again.

The only thing close to it is that the Memorial Day Sales started being advertised this past Monday.

OWB

Oh, blast! We forgot to go to the parade this morning. Yikes. Bad rememberer is getting worse!

Ex-PH2

Actually, it isn’t today.

It’s May 19th. I sent this to Jonn earier today.

CLAW131

Gee, could have sworn that Armed Forces Day falls on the third Saturday of May that closes out Armed Forces Week that begins on the second Sunday of May.

At least that’s what it says in my days to fly the Flag Handbook and is marked as such on my Puppy Dogs calendar.

Enigma4you

Armed Forces day is today, The Third Saturday in May.

This report says that Gov. Cuomo, who is paranoid about guns, has a LOT of other issues, too.

Why am I not surprised?

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

Ah … Some say in the biz, he is under investigation because of several things including disbanding a states anti-corruption board that got a wee too close to him.

But what do I know.

Sounds like business as usual in Nooh Yawk!

Anyone else see this week’s This Old House? A 3 part series on “Homes For Our Troops”. “Over three special episodes, This Old House is partnering with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) to build a house—from the ground up—for one Army veteran and his family, as a way to highlight the heroes who have given so much for their country….Kevin meets the HFOT Chairman, Four Star General Richard Cody, to understand their mission.

My reaction was fantastic mingled with how many need this.

WHAT THE HOLLY GAWD DAMN FUCK is ShRTbUsWInDoWLiKKeR up to with this asinine web site? http://www.widowmarypschantag.is/

Bejesus, I thought aspecialdayguide was some kind of stupid, but damn DILLY DALLAS, you just gotta prove that you are the stupidest and biggest idiot of the DRC.

Wow. That gasbag’s as close to psych-needy as you can get, isn’t he?

Skippy

BFG. I don’t know if I’m allowed to do this Lol.
But I think you may have taken 1st Place with the name.. Well at least you have with me.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHhHHAAAAAAAA…

Silentium Est Aureum

Thanks, now I need to get a new laptop. The old one just melted down from the weapons grade stupid.

sj

I suspect that our “lawyer” buddy is behind the content on the widow site. ShRTbUsWInDoWLiKKeR is probably just a dupe because the lawyer is banned everywhere. Plus ShRTbUsWInDoWLiKKeR probably doesn’t have enough brain cells left to do that site.

A Proud Infidel®™

I see ShoRtBuSwInDoWLiCkEr41 as his sidekick/dupe like some slobbering mutant of a Mad Scientist’s sidekick in a cartoon or B-grade movie. Witlessfart has alienated those around him in his life, thus he’ll attach himself like a remora to anyone who give him the time of day, let alone a drop of attention.

Bernath’s Fuel Gauge and Jonn, I was heading for the Reply button and hit the report comment in error. Please disregard. Thank you.

The website makes absolute no sense whatsoever. My absolute favorite is when Bernath’s and his page start linking to each other as sources of news lmao
