Now it’s the mayors

| December 8, 2008

Last week the governors came crawling for a bailout, this week it’s the mayors. from Wall Street Journal’s Washington Wire;

The mayors are asking Congress to send money for infrastructure projects directly to cities instead of funneling it through state governments, where it could get caught up in red tape. But even with the federal government soon to be under complete Democratic control, the mayors face an uphill battle to shake up the existing funding structure.

The blood’s in the water and the sharks are circling. But they’re sensitive sharks – don’t call it a bail out;

“We are not here for a bailout but to present a recovery plan,” Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa told reporters.

“We don’t need a bailout,” Trenton, N.J., Mayor Douglas Palmer said. “We need a buildout.”

Those arms and legs they’re chumming for belong to tax payers.

Instead of cutting government, they’ve absorbed every taxpayer dollar they could snatch from our wallets  and now they’re coming for every last penny you have. Disgusting.
