Jordan Lusk; cop arrested for forged military records
The Corpus Christi Caller Times reports that Jordan Lusk, an Aransas Pass police officer was arrested last night for altering his military records from the Navy to reflect training that he didn’t take;
Jordan Timothy Lusk is accused of providing the police department with forms that claimed he received specialized training and service recognitions while he was in the Navy. Lusk was selected for the department’s dive team in part because of the experience reflected in the documents, the release states.
Lusk was booked in the San Patricio County Jail on suspicion of forgery of a government document, a third degree felony. He had not yet appeared before a judge early Thursday and did not have a bail amount set.
According to the article, Lusk admitted to the police chief that he had lied just prior to his arrest, but that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service had participated in the investigation that ultimately led to his admission.

If he thinks he’s got problems now, just wait until he gets caught again as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Assuming he gets convicted. He’ll probably plea bargain down to some bs misdemeanor with no time behind bars, get black listed by that town, then get a job with some small town that’ll be happy to get an experienced policeman that will work for peanuts, even if they’re aware of his past.
TECLOS (POST) will put a hold on his certification, because the chief had to file the paperwork, so the chances of his seeking re-employment OR employment by any agency anywhere would be less than fruitful. He’ll even have a tough job seeking employment as a security
guard (armed or un-armed) too.

It would be amazing if people could stop judging when they know absolutely nothing. This is not a case of stolen valor. He did serve, has done multiple tours in Afghanistan, is a Purple Heart recipient, and put his life at risk for this country and pieces of shit like the lot of you. How about you wait for all the facts and a trial before you go making assumptions.

2. He admitted that he falsified a DD-214.
3. The falsified DD-214 that “did not include diver training and showed fewer training and service recognitions.”

So, he got a job which he wouldn’t have if he had not forged the DD-214 to include some kind of dive certification. It sounds an awful lot like stolen valor to me.
BTW, have you seen the orders and documentation proving the PH and the multiple tours in Afghanistan, or are you just taking his word for that, too?

So, I dropped by the school where my wife works today and there was a guy there wearing a “Navy Seal” hat. I was tempted to ask him what his class number was or who his swim buddy was, but I was in a hurry and let it go.
But, I’m not sure if wearing a hat=poser. Thoughts?
I just ask the person “oh, what’s your connection (or association) with the Navy SEALS? (or Rangers, or 82nd Airborne, or whatever).
Then they either say they were in that unit, in which case you can ask more questions, or they say that their son, grandson, nephew, or someone else is/was.
This is how it usually goes. I would def ask the guy about it, more out of curiosity than just looking to burn the guy for being SV.
I would say, “cool Navy SEAL cover”.
Analyze the response and or lack there of and go from there.
Here are some good questions:
1. How many brass rings are on a pair of UDT shorts?
2. What color were dive socks in the 80’s?
3. How many HALOs have you done with a Drager?
4. Where were the unit(s) in Scotland, PI, PR back in the day?
5. What are the nick names for various calistenics?
And finally …
6. With a hat like that, do you really think I believe you are a SEAL?
Now, you have to ask yourself this question. How stupid do you have to be, to volunteer for a Search/Rescue/Recovery Dive Team, and not have the training for it? It’s one thing to flap your yap in a bar; quite another to deliberately put yourself in a position to have to say, “I don’t know what this piece of equipment is, much less how to use it.”
As a PADI-certified diver, I’m gonna take a wild guess and say I’ve got more dives than he does (I stopped logging around 500.)
That being said, I’d never claim that shit on a job application.
